“Not your typical thrift store. It is upscale but very well displayed and organized housewares, clothing, books, decor, etc donated by people to benefit Inova hospital.”

“Not the biggest assortment, but certainly worth a look. Fairly good variety of entry, mid and some designer clothes and helpfully very little fast fashion. Most importantly the people running the store are quite nice.”

“I love this cute and quirky little shop hidden away in Hollin Hall. I go most Saturday mornings because the owner changes the inventory almost every week. I have found so many things I never expected to find there and I always enjoy learning from the owner about their history and uses. The prices are very reasonable and the owner encourages browsing and requests for items.”

“They have sorted and curated only the best items to resale, so this isn’t your ordinary shop, and the prices show. If you want 1/2 price designer duds, pop in here before you bother with the mall, especially if you are small. Not many XLs.”

“The volunteers are so sweet and helpful. There are so many treasures to be found. Everything I purchased was lovely. I was so impressed I decided to become a volunteer in the store.”

“I recently moved to the area and received a watch as a birthday gift that needed an adjustment. After finding Rubini Jewelers online, I decided to stop by. The staff was incredibly helpful and not only fixed my watch quickly but also polished my chain necklaces for free! The next day, I realized the watch still needed a slight adjustment, and they took care of it without hesitation and at no additional charge. I am so impressed with the service and attention to detail at Rubini Jewelers, and I will definitely be a returning customer for all my jewelry needs. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional service and quality jewelry!!”

“D.C.'s gem for designer finds! Ella Rue offers amazing, high-quality pieces and the owners/ staff are welcoming and make you feel at home. My favorite stop in DC; you won't regret the visit!”

“I get probably 50% of my child’s clothing here. I particularly love how often I find high-quality outdoor clothing that’s perfect for the nature-based preschool she attends.”

“Big sale right now. Open on some saturdays too. The staff are very friendly and stop to help you find what you are looking for. The building is very large but all items are VERY WELL organized on racks and shelves.”

“The ladies are super helpful and friendly. They carry a nice array of sizes and as a larger than average woman finding things that are cute and unique and not just big is rare in the nicer shops so this one gets a 10/10”

“Great selection of kids' books, toys and clothing, all in excellent condition. It's clear that a lot of care goes into curating the items. The prices are fair too.”

“I've been buying my boys' clothes from 529 Kids Consign for the past 10 years. I started off buying online on their Instagram and have been amazed at the high quality, name brand items that I can get for a great price, plus love the environmental impact of buying secondhand. The owner, Megan Podolsky only accepts the best stuff, so the shoes and clothes you purchase at her store are in pristine quality and recent styles. As a #boymom and experienced corporate retail veteran, Megan knows how the market for boys' clothes is often overlooked and her carefully curated selection from top consignors with style allows me to keep my boys dressed in the brands like Burberry, Boden, Tea, Vineyard Vines, Hunter, Native and Sperry. I love the selection of dress shoes, winter boots, and water shoes. This store also has cute new items that I often buy for kids' birthday parties, holiday gifts or baby gifts. When I was pregnant and nursing, this was the place to get a professional work wardrobe that was functional and comfortable, but also stylish. Not only does the owner know her customers by name, but she is the best at recommending other small, local businesses and supporting other entrepreneurs. It's no easy feat managing multiple small businesses in a pandemic and tough economy. Definitely recommend following on Instagram--they can ship to you or hold for pickup pending payment.”

“Great selection and very nice owner/staff. My aunt and I had a great time shopping around and looking at all the unique, classic pieces. Highly recommend for evening wear, chic work attire and timeless coats and jackets.”

“I have only had positive experiences here. The volunteers who've helped me have been lovely, interesting women. The inventory is pretty incredible, mostly jewelry and home wears. Many things will be listed well under market. To me, it's been a treasure and hope others have good experiences, too.”

“I came into this location and was immediately greeted and assisted with the most warm smiles and assertive yet helpful countenances of Kayleigh, Julia, Rachel!!!! They are the epitome of Customer Service and treating with equity!!!!”

“I popped in this cute little shop over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the vast selection of vintage pieces. I fell in love with a Japanese robe and the ladies were extremely helpful, even when I said I would return at a later date to buy it. But I just could not leave it there. I rushed back to make the purchase, and the ladies informed me that they were running a sale on florals. SOLD!! They even offered alterations if the robe fell too long on me...I am so short...but it fit perfectly. Thank you so much ladies for all your help and enthusiasm! I will be returning soon.”

“The negative comments about the workers being “rude” “arrogant” confirmed I needed to stop by but everyone there was chill and helpful. Nice designer that’s nicely priced”

“This is a great place to get high quality, gently used kids' clothing! This place has been around a long time, although they did move from one unit in the shopping center to a new one in the past fife years or so. They do a great job of being selective about what they carry and pricing it appropriately. They have tons of my favorites including Hanna Anderson, Gap, Crew Cuts, Patagonia, and more. They have lots of great kids shoes as well--things that would normally be pricier, like Keen, Sperry, etc. I have not consigned with them although I probably should. One thing I really love is that they promote their items on Instagram (handle 529hollinhall) and you can even reserve and pay for items there. They are very active on there AP you can find what you want without having to do much browsing.”

“i think they must have some company policy on only taking a max of X number of items from any person coming to consign at once, which is totally fine. i wouldn’t take it personally if they reject your items for consignment - i have kept some of the stuff they rejected and brought it back at other times at which point they took additional items that they previously rejected (can be a seasonality issue, stuff they’re specifically looking for at different times, or just luck of the draw depending on who’s reviewing your items).

to the people saying you’re better off selling on XYZ online platforms that is absolutely true - i mean you’ll obviously get more $$ payoff selling items and keeping 100% of the profit yourself but if you’re lazy, looking for convenience, and especially if you shop here and are part of the ‘ecosystem’ so to say it’s worth to consign and use your sales credit against purchases you make. lots of meh items in their stores but have gotten some of my cutest pieces from a current boutique so you just have to keep a discerning eye”

“If I could give this place 100 stars I would! ❤️ Cannot recommend Wardrobe Rescue enough. Have been shopping and consigning here for years. Whether you are looking for brand new, vintage, classic, or rare pieces Wardrobe Rescue is the best place to go for all your designer and high end needs. Not only does the staff always make me feel welcomed and taken care of, but this place also has some of the most beautiful one of a kind bags, shoes, and clothing ive collected to date. If you are going to buy designer pieces spend your money here with this local business that cares about its customers instead of a big corporation that is just trying to make their next billion.”

“I have been here a couple times and they always have nice items. Went by today during the week and I guess they need to update their times because they were not open at 12 30 on a Tuesday - edited: well now I feel silly - I will have to check out their new location”

“Very wonderful place! Reasonable prices (just a few marked way too high) but a WIDE VARIETY OF ITEMS. The clothes were decent/ok but the accessories are where the gems are at!! Great place, just no fitting rooms and wished there were more mirrors.”

“Lots to choose from here. The store is huge! Even the men’s section has the largest area I’ve seen in all of the thrift stores I’ve ever been to. Good quality merchandise can be found here such as Ralph Lauren, Nike, Adidas, Kenneth Cole etc; The only downfall is that they have closed the dressing rooms and the prices are considerably more than Goodwill. Prices fluctuate from very high to moderate to low. They have specials once in while that will give you 50% off from Friday to Sunday. Other times it will be 50% off on a certain color tag.

I’m assuming this store receives donated clothing so I don’t understand the price gouging to the consumer.”
