She has excellent customer service skills and spoke kindly to us, which encouraged me to write this great review. The prices are very reasonable, and the selection of fresh meats is unbeatable. The store is always clean and well-maintained. However, I would suggest that they improve the outdoor lighting at night. Although the area is not unsafe, I have seen some suspicious individuals around a few times.β

βVery nice place and people. This Food Lion in Poquoson is very well stocked. We live closer to the one on Hampton Highway, but their shelves are always empty, so we go to Poquoson instead. Their produce always looks outstanding!β

βDuring a recent trip to VA I was on a mission to find pan dulce. After searching Yelp for all the keywords I found nothing. I walked into a busy Mexican restaurant and asked the hostess for an assist and she gave me the info for this spot. Apparently there are not a lot of "latin" food stores in the area. This place though had fresh pan dulce in a variety of flavor options. Perfect addition to your morning cafecito. Of course I had to check every aisle for other Mexican cooking necessities like chiles, harina (maseca) for tortillas, arepas, pan, corn husks for tamales, chips, cookies, Goya products, hot sauce, abuelita chocolate, they have a freezer with pupusas, empanadas, guayabas, and another fridge with desserts like tres leches cake and flan. They have money gram for sending money and phone cards. I would recommend this place if you're looking for pan dulce or you get a craving for something from back home.β

βI stopped by during my lunch break to pick up some earplugs and nightlights for a family member. The store was clean and organized. The staff was pretty friendly. They had everything I needed. I was in and out very quickly. I will definitely go back.β
βWAY TO GO FOOD LION! Food Lion has a Super Savings rewards program and it is by far one of the best I've seen. Many times I have saved anywhere from 50% to 90% on my purchase. Yes, I even walked out without paying a dime sometimes. Highly recommend you sign up for this program. The store itself is always well stocked, well lit, and clean. The employees are super nice and helpful. check out is normally a breeze. This store has a butcher, deli, produce department. They always have a good deal all over the store. Customer Service offers a variety of services (money orders, cashier checks, stamps etc..) and they have coinstar, lottery machines and a coupon machine. You can walk right up to it, push a button and receive the weekly coupons, now how convenient is that? Lastly this location is right up the street for me so I spend a lot of time here. βI have a complex med regimen, so I often feel I'm constantly @ the pharmacy, and I definitely have LOTS of experience with the range of customer service experiences one might expect @ a pharmacy. Let me say this: The folks staffing this pharmacy are AWESOME. They greet me personally and are never too busy for my questions. They work hard to make sure I can get things rapidly when I'm unwell. They interface with my insurance company when there are problems/billing issues/miscommunications. They are thorough. They are kind and courteous. They are never rude, impatient, lax in their responsibilities to the customer, or otherwise compromised. Honestly, I think much of this comes from the top: The managing pharmacist and the other lead pharmacists are truly just very kind and professional, and I see them treat their supporting employees really well, too. I had been going to the CVS across the street, just because I'd been using CVS since I'd moved to VA 5 years ago. The difference between the CVS and this Walgreens is a complete 360. So glad this Walgreens is my home pharmacy, and I'll be happy to patronize them for my entire family's needs for as long as we live here in Newport News!β

βAwesome Walmart next to Marshall's and Burlington. This store has a bakery, pharmacy, fresh produce and everything else a Walmart Superstore would carry just scaled down. Staff at the front door cleaning carts and offering hand sanitizer. The bakery carried pies, breads, cakes and cupcakes.β
βmonday is pizza day there...huge pizza for $7.99 and all the toppings added delish....Friday is great way to get fried or backed chicken it is delicious as well EAT UP!!!!!#!β
βVery clean and organized. When the line was long a very nice lady came and helped. She had awesome manners and was very friendly. When it was my turn she told me I could go there vs waiting for the cashier who was finishing a customer. I thought that was very nice to take that extra time vs going to so something else. She enrolled me in the new Walgreens point system so smoothly and I was able to save $10 since I had points I didn't even know about. Thank y'all for being so nice and having manners. It means so much. Will definitely return.β
βI love the way this Foodlion has remodeled. The store is refreshing to walk into. Well lit clear clean aisles. The staff is friendly. Under these stressful times of hygiene and masks , they still have "smiling" eyes. My go to store for all my moms groceries. She lives in NN and there are not many choices in the area.β
βAlways friendly and helpful. Always has my medications in stock even new ones that many other pharmacies do not. I use to go from pharmacy to pharmacy to fill all my prescriptions now I just go to this Rite Aid. They are also fast too. Love this store and the employees.β
βFor shopping, I always go yo Wal-Mart on Sundays in the late morning. Sophia and I always order curbside which cuts out all the fun standing in long lines, which maybe only 4 out of 30 if you're at the superstore. Sometimes, they may not have what we request. If that's the case, Food Lion is the best option. This review here is actually a very late one which should've been done months ago....or maybe a year ago (probably joking on that one). Prices are a bit higher here but using the MVP card can help with discounts. For example, I bought 2 carts of almond milk for $3 each. Or on this recent visit, I happen to buy 2 regular containers of Habanero BBQ almonds that I eat at work for $5. Since Wal-Mart unfortunately doesn't sell this flavor, Food Lion happily fills the need. And since we live close by, the drive is definitely easy. Just 5 minutes away from our place. You definitely can't beat that. Again, prices are typically higher. But as long as you're an MVP member, discounts can go a long way. Not a bad option.β

βMy family and I have been to different Krogers and by far our favorite is the Kroger at Yorktown. I understand that each person may have different experiences when they shop, even our experience varies per visit. However, the most consistently well maintained and stocked Kroger is Yorktown. The staff I have interacted with is also friendly, relative to other Kroger locations. Overall, the well stocked items and store layout are the main reasons why we choose Yorktown as much as possible.β
