“Friendly knowledgeable staff. Competitive pricing on a wide variety of merchandise. Store was clean and well stocked with merchandise in easy to locate well labeled aisles. Would recommend for a short stop or an in depth shopping trip.”
“I came here to buy a 15c popsicle for my simple minded friend. The black lady with the face mask behind the till asked me if I wanted a bag for the popsicle and told me it would be $100 for the bag, and when I said 'no thank you very much ma'am', she told me I would have to pay for it even if I didn't want it. When I said I would sadly have to leave the popsicle in that case, as I only had 23c on me, she placed the bag over my head and kicked me until I fell to the floor, then snickered. I understand it must be frustrating working in the Dollar Tree but I didn't appreciate being treated this way and I probably won't return without my mates from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for back up.”
“Wow, has this FAMILY DOLLAR, stepped up their game in All aspects in this store. Clean,neat,and stocked. You can actually push a cart through the store and pick up all your wants and needs. Might I, add the new young lady Kelly. who is Smiling and eager to help you find anything you need in the store. At,last I, feel like I can finally go back to picking up, and do shopping at my FAMILY DOLLAR STORE. P.S. In my opinion KELLY deserves a well deserved pat on the back,& a Raise. Way to go,Kelly! “Visited the store today and Kayla was the cashier and doesn't normally work there. But she is a great employee and helped me out with balloons for a birthday party with picking them out and she was very polite. Went above and beyond.very friendly and knowledgeable of her job. unfortunately dollar general down the street wasn't opened for them to fix the problem I had with them and she helped me even though the stores aren't connected best way she could.. My boy got his balloon thanks to you and had a great party thanks so much these stores need more people like you!!!”

“This location is usually full of items, even popular ones you can't find at other locations. However, it is always messy with boxes in the way, scattering all aisles and waiting to be stocked.”
“The store needs attention. They have good products at reasonable prices, but they need staff badly. On a recent visit, there was a hand written sign on the door that said they would be closing early because of a staffing shortage. This should tell upper management that if you have to cut store hours to operate, you really need to find a way to recruit and maintain people.”

“I like this $ General because its conveniently located in Montvale for if you just need to run and grab a few things and don't want to have to run all the way to Bedford or Bonsack Walmart just for a couple of items. They have a good selection of products as well. Pretty much anything that u could possibly need on a regular day, they have at a reasonable price. I also love their " Dot Deals", where a certain color dot is half off or BOGO, especially on the toys during X~Mas time. I like to buy my son items other places than just Wal-Mart so he has a variety of toys and not just the same old stuff over and over that Walmart has. Don't get me wrong, I like Walmarts toys as well, but once u have bought everything that is in your child's age range, gender and interests, they don't really get new stuff in, where as $ General does, and especially during X~Mas time.”
“This location has the BEST staff! They may not always have the products stocked on the shelves, but if you're looking for something, they will help you find it! Waymon is one of the nicest, friendliest people I've ever met and his presence, along with his associates, is what makes this location shine.”
“This is a great Dollar General. It is very spacious, very clean and well organized. There is very little clutter throughout this store. The staff went above and beyond as well, saving me from a very expensive battery cord purchase.

“Buyer beware. This is a great store, but they are hardly ever open due to one reason or the other mainly sewage issues. They have so many signs on the door you don't know if their open or not until the door doesn't open.”
“I am currently in Roanoke to train some stores for my company. The Manager, Lynn. was awesome!! I needed to stock up on some supplies for myself and the local store that I am working at. Lynn was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of where I could locate everything that I needed. I was in a hurry so she assisted me so I could find things that I needed in a timely manner. Lynn was was so pleasant, helpful and kind and as a faithful Dollar General customer, I was very impressed on how neat and clean this store was. I actually complimented her on on the organization and cleanliness of this store, based on the bad experiences at other stores.Just before I left we had a quick chat. She is an extremely responsible manager and cares about the store and the customers. Dollar general needs more people Lynn!!”
“Cons. Store has a smell, probably due to the age of the building.
Pros: They have the nicest people working there! Shawn (or Shaun unsure of spelling), Greeted customers quickly, made great conversation while also quickly running the checkout, was super polite and personable. Felt like I was chatting with an old friend. I’m so used to poor customer service that this experience blew me away and was a breath of fresh air. If I ever have a need to visit Family Dollar again when I’m in the area, this will be the one that I go to.”

“This is a good store. Unique as it has pOpshelf items in it. It was clean, but not well staffed or well stocked. Wide aisles and very spacious. I wish there was one of these nearer to me.”
