We've stayed in a few hotels in Virginia Beach over the last 2 months visiting sick family member. This is the nicest, friendliest one we have stayed, that didn't make our trip more stressful. The views are great obviously. But the staff were so nice and the rooms where clean and comfortable. The reason for a 4 was that the shower leaked pretty bad, and some parts of the room were poorly rehabbed. But this will be our choice hotel from here on out.

It was great until they put a smoker in the room next to us. I guess it doesn't count if you smoke on the balcony and it bothers other guests.

The check in process was word. They won’t allow you to view the room before you check in. The room has an old smell. The pull out sofa’s mattress had rust on it. There were no sheets and blankets available for the pull out sofa. The phones in the room did not work. During checkout none of the elevators were working so everyone was in the stairway, which is also a tight squeeze. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. You are not getting what you pay for.

I checked in on Friday October 3rd and in the morning of October 4th at 7 a.m. I find out the elevator is broken and I'm on the 11th floor.
I have major knee issues and I walked myself down 11 flights of steps to talk to the front desk. The woman at the front desk proceeded to tell me that there's a part that they need and they have no idea when the elevator person is coming to fix it
The front desk woman hung up on my father when he called to find out information and gave us a resolution to move us to another floor but I still can't walk up the flights of steps
The lack of accountability is disgusting and it is extremely disappointing

Rooms are a bit outdated. I noticed some water damage. There must have been hidden mold because it triggered an autoimmune flare making it so I couldn't walk(Achilles Tendinitis). I wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel is older and could use some updating but the staff was friendly and kind and went out of their way to be helpful when we needed it. Chris, Vicky and Rosemary went over the top for me - I appreciate them and what they do here. Thank you

Rooms were nice and clean, view from the balcony was beautiful, complimentary breakfast was solid, location is excellent. Lots of good places to eat at that are walking distance/close by. Only draw back was that one of the elevators was not working, it would’ve been nice to know before getting a room on the 9th floor.

No hot water for shower this morning. One elevator out of service. Some maintenance definitely needed, but location was great, room was clean, and staff was friendly.

The room was spacious with great views but the breakfast was the best part. The staff are super friendly, there’s a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere at the breakfast every morning. Chris’s potatoes are so good and I would go back just for that!!

We arrived at 4:05 and were told our room wasn’t ready. We had to wait an extra 45min. Then we were asked if we wanted a high or low floor we said high so we would have a great view of the ocean we get to the elevator one is out of order. If we would have known that ahead of time we would have asked for lower. The day before checkout the water was turned off from 11a-1p we got back to our room around 3:30 so we could shower and get ready for dinner. We ran all of the faucets for about 20 minutes we had black stuff come out of the shower head then the shower head was plugged we had no hot water so we had to take cold drizzle showers. Maintenance came up and said just to let the water run. The next morning we were leaving and wanted to take a hot shower still no hot water.
The breakfast was great and the workers in there were amazing and upbeat. The room was nice especially with the separate bedroom and the view was great.

This hotel is old and in need of some love. Our room was clean and comfortable. Of course the view is what we came for. All ocean front.
Parking large vehicles can be a challenge. Don't bother with breakfast. The coffee was a decent hold over.

As far as 2-star hotels go, this one was pretty great! It had a one-bedroom apartment layout, with the bedroom separate from the living room. The kitchenette included a refrigerator, and there was a balcony with an ocean view. Everything was clean, and the breakfast was pretty good! Free on-site parking garage.
