“We didn't get any work done on the our car today, but we did survive a near-death experience.
There was a spider. Inside the car. On the windshield. Directly above my face.
My daughters (and me) immediately started screaming like we were being actively hunted for sport.
I pulled into this Shell gas station & we bailed so fast we forgot our shoes & dignity.
At that point we were fully prepared to abandon the vehicle. PERMANENTLY. Keys in it, engine running. The car belonged to the spider now.
Instead, we ran over to two mechanics that were clearly busy, begging for help like we had absolutely exhausted all other options (we had not).
One of them stepped in immediately, while the other stood there in obvious agreement that this was, in fact, an emergency.
Spider eliminated crisis averted. The girls barely held it together while I, of course, was the picture of maturity.
We thanked them like they had just saved our lives (they did), and our valiant hero just casually went back to work like he didn't just perform a heroic act for free on a random Thursday.
We didn’t go there for work done or for gas, but somehow still ended up living to tell the tale.

This establishment is the epitome of old-school customer service who prioritize quality-of- work.
You will be treated fairly, and unlike some chains, they will not attempt to upsell you a service or part that is not needed. They will take the time to clearly explain the issue, repair options and provide a detailed quote.
All repairs are verified by the owner or his shop manager. We have never had to take a vehicle back because they failed to resolve the issue. On the one occasion a part failed (manufacturer defect), they replaced it immediately without question.
In this day of many businesses prioritizing volume over service and customer loyalty, it is often difficult to find a reliable automotive repair establishment you can trust. Caton’s is that establishment you are looking for.

“Came in for a tire repair. Nail got in the tire in an angle but Craftsman Auto had an experience of similar case and they were able to take care of it. They used paper floor cover and plastic seat cover when they pulled the car in the garage. When I get a tire repair, I make sure it is internal patch with a stem and Craftsman Auto does the internal patch with a stem. Some places patches tires with just a rubber string snake patch, which I do not think the safe way to do. Everything was great and I have a piece of mine they do it in a proper way. Added bonus is that they have a lot of experience with Tesla. I always offer my ice hockey puck and they have everything Tesla related so they were good.”

“I went to my car dealership for an oil change and left with a list of services they recommended totaling almost $6K (more than the trade in value of my old car). The dealership even said that one was a safety issue and that I shouldn’t drive on highways because my steering could give out anytime. I called my dad for his advice. He said GO TO MEINEKE to get a second opinion and I’m so glad I did. The wonderful team at Meineke in Fairfax, VA, did a free and thorough inspection of my car and only recommended three services, totaling just shy of $800. They even checked the specific part the dealership said was a safety issue and saw no problem with it, assuring me that it wasn’t a safety issue at all. I’m starting to think that the dealership was just trying to scare me enough so that I’d decide to trade in my old car and buy a new one (instead of paying for repairs totaling more than the car’s value). Luckily, I don’t have to make that decision now and I feel confident driving my car around for a while longer, including on highways. I can’t thank Chris and the rest of his team enough for being so knowledgeable, trustworthy, and efficient. And, the moral of the story, dad always knows best.”

“Fairfax Auto Repair has exceeded my expectations. I had to drive out of state for a family emergency, and I was concerned about a timing belt that was cracked but still functional. I called Fairfax Auto the day before I had to leave to replace the belt so that I wouldn't be stuck on the highway if it broke. Fairfax Auto ordered the belt that morning and called me when it arrived. They replaced the belt while I waited, and I was able to drive 500 miles in a day without worrying about my car. I will only use Fairfax Auto Repair for my car repairs. I trust them completely. They do great work and are reasonably priced. They are close to where I live. Great place and great work.”

“I had put on brakes and rotors by myself and still had vibrations when braking hard and suspected a rotor problem even though they were new. I brought it to J&F to have them check if it was the rotor and they confirmed that the rotor was the issue. I was going to return the rotor to where I bought it but they said they might be able to file down the high spot so I said give it a go. The filing down improved it but did not fix it, so I said I'll just pick it up. They said it would be no charge since they said they weren't able to fix it. I said let me pay you since you spent time to diagnose and attempt to fix it and they said no, we'll see you next time - what a wonderful business experience!”
“It took a long time to find a place to take my car for service where I never feel taken advantage of, but now that I have found such a place, I won't go elsewhere to have our cars serviced unless I absolutely have to. Jara taught me how to evaluate costs for services, is honest about what services my vehicle needs and is always pleasant and upfront about costs, etc. Just a really great place, with great people who have helped keep my car in the best shape.
