Samantha (Sam) Hilton from the Nee Towne Branch handled my loan and she was very knowledgeable of all aspects in banking. She was also so easy to talk to and when I needed to reschedule due to being sick. She was so understanding. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Establishing accounts with the exemplary assistance of Karen Kornish was a pleasure. This branch is so conveniently located in New Town. 1st Advantage FCU was my first choice as a new resident of Williamsburg. The mobile app is easy to navigate and other services are readily available.

First I want to say Lois Miles customer service was exceptional. She deserves 5 stars…….. She did her job with respect to me getting my car loan approved. Of course, I had no worries not being approved because I met all the guidelines. What I didn’t understand as to why I could not get the check for the amount I was approved for and take it to the dealership to purchase my car?? I was told that’s something the bank didn’t do in which I didn’t understand why. So I had to drive to Sterling, Va 3 hours away buy my car from Carmax give them my $5000.00 deposit do the paperwork to buy the car. 1st Avantage told me to have Carmax call and verify the transition and they would mail the check to them. Which didn’t make any sense to me. The following Tuesday I returned to 1st Advantage had to buy the car all over again and was cut a check right on the spot!!!! What the hell was that?? Then I had to take the check back to Carmax to process a pay off on the car. Meanwhile, I have Carmax and 1st Advantage on my credit report billing me for the same vehicle. Carmax was expecting a payment 3/28/23 so when I called them to explain what was happening they never received a check and a month has passed sense then. I had to go back to Carmax twice to find out what’s was happening. Finally it was corrected on 4/25/23. My credit score decreased significantly. It has caused me a lot of anguish. I was angry because I felt untrustworthy. It hurt me emotionally. I’ve reached out to other credit union to ask what there process was for purchasing a car and they laugh at what happens to me. They expressed how ridiculous it was and apologize for my experience I felt that 1st Advantage didn’t trust me with my own money I applied for by not giving me the check to purchase my car and for that I give them ⭐️⭐️⭐️Would I recommend 1st Advantage Federal Credit Union I can’t really say.

I had a restriction on my account which prevented me from using my debit card. I called customer service and the not so friendly associate told me there is no problem and I can use my debit card as I usually do. Fast forward to today…still can’t use my debit card. I went in to the New Town branch and Kelly helped me. She did everything she could and was able to release the restriction from my account. Kelly went above and beyond and I am so thankful.
