It was all nice and clean and whatnot, and it was about as picked over as to be expected on the Monday after black friday. However, I had thought they would have a little more variety in their products in regards to charger cables. Mine had just broken, and I thought I would stop by Staples because it was on the way home. When I checked their selection, there were only about 3 brands that even had micro-usb type chargers, and none in the front register section where they would be cheaper. I didn't need a fancy heavy duty cord, I just wanted something cheap and functional. It seems like Staples has perhaps struck a brand deal with Apple or something, because the vast majority of phone accessories were geared towards Apple products, which I do not have. It was very frustrating, and I was unhappy to be spending more than double the average price of a simple micro-usb cable. I think Staples is a lovely choice if you have the newest product, but if you hate buying a new phone every 2 years like me your selection is limited for older device needs.

Got a response from Staples that said the manager of this Staples would contact me. Needless to say he did not try to contact me. So much for a responsive manager.I am very disapointed with the Staples in Williamsburg. I brought in a student map to get laminated (the student had worked on it for several weeks). When I went to pick it up it had a large dark stain on it. I asked her what that was from. She first claimed it was a marker that had spread. I told her there had been no marker in that location. Then she said it was the glue. I once again said there was no glue in that area. She then went on to tell me this happens when things get laminated. I replied I had been a teacher for 35 years and knew all about laminating, and that I had been laminating these maps for 6 years without this happening. When I went outside into the sun I realized there was a brown liquid in the lamination where the dark stain was. It is now obvious someone spilled a coffee or tea on it. Yes, accidents do happen, but then to lie about it! I had to take it all apart and remount it and now have to get it laminated again. Don't expect decent behavior from those at this staples.

Do not use this location for TSA-precheck. They will cancel your appointment and not tell you, causing some people (like myself) to take time off work and drive an hour away to find a note on the door saying no appointments today. When I rescheduled, the people working were incredibly rude to the customers in front of me and then decided to take it out on me, even accusing me of cutting the line (after my name had been called up and I was checked in). I understand some customers have bad attitudes, but I certainly didn’t deserve to be treated the way I was treated, all because I suggested they take the elderly couples phone number and call them when they are ready so that the couple could sit while waiting in their car. The couple was told “walk around and shop” while they wait and they weren’t supposed to hover in the TSA precheck area during their appointment time. Unbelievable.

I bought an office chair and paid to have it assembled. A third party delivered the chair; excellent service. I found out that the assembly service was another third party that has been putting me off to make an appointment to have it assembled. Contacted Staples help center and Hilarianne G. said Staples does not then help me resolve the assembly problem. Never would have bought through them if I had known this!!!!!!

This will likely be the rare retail review I ever write due to career bias...However, this Staples is local to my parents in which case I've frequented for random one off needs for likely 15 years in whims. Even amid all the challenges retail is currently facing, this location continues to feel consistent and uninterrupted with how they operate. Inventory, staffing levels, and team morale appear pretty unchanged, which is of course a big win.With that covered, I want to talk specifically about the staff and the UPS/Print Center where the majority of my interaction takes place. The team is always super friendly and personable, appear to enjoy doing what they do, and are really helpful. This particular visit was very difficult on an emotional level due to a family emergency. The team at the photo shop delivered in an exceptional manner doing everything they could to help me with a print need with an extremely short window of time to work with. They were empathetic, efficient, and exceeded expectations. I unfortunately can't recall the young ladies name that assisted, but Steve is who called and left my voicemail. Both - Wonderful! If anyone from the location reads this, I cannot thank the team enough for this emotional delivery.

The personnel at the Williamsburg Staples store on Richmond Road are fantastic. Amanda in the store's printing/copying center and a very nice general manager went above and beyond last week to help me get some items printed on a very tight timeline for my father's funeral. They were extremely kind, compassionate and uber helpful. At a time when I was very stressed out and grief-stricken, they brought a ray of sunshine, and I am grateful. I have been a Staples customer for a long time, and I will remain a Staples customer.

TSA PreCheck: Alfia & Savannah were great! My husband and I tried to do our appointment at IdentoGo in Virginia Beach, and waiting over 30 mins without anyone coming to the window. The line was wrapped outside the door, so we decided to go to Williamsburg as a walk in. We were in and out in under a half an hour. Highly recommend the drive to have a much better experience.
