Copper Creek Inn Restaurant & Lodging
35707 WA-706, AshfordWe stopped for dinner after a long day hiking on Mount Rainier. It was a great restaurant with good, fresh food. All of the employees were cheerful and friendly. Our server, Brad, (if I remember his name correctly) was so kind and attentive. Such a good experience that we stopped back for a late lunch on our way back to Seattle the next day. Try the blackberry pie!!!

Rainier BaseCamp Bar & Grill
30027 WA-706, AshfordWe were in Ashford this past weekend celebrating my birthday, and the rain decided to join the party! We took the family to Rainier BaseCamp for lunch, and it turned out to be the perfect rainy-day spot. The covered outdoor seating and beautiful fire pit kept everyone warm and dry while creating a welcoming atmosphere to relax and meet new people.
As lifelong Washington residents, we enjoyed chatting with visitors from all over the country, including couples from New Jersey and North Carolina, as well as a group of hikers from California. It was fun hearing their stories and sharing a little Pacific Northwest hospitality.
The pizza was delicious, and they offered a great selection of cider, beer, wine as well as non-alcoholic options.
Between the cozy setting, friendly people, and great food, Rainier BaseCamp made our rainy birthday celebration a memorable one.

Whittaker's Bunkhouse
30205 WA-706, AshfordWe stayed just one night, to ride the Christmas train with Mt Rainer Scenic Railroad. I booked on short notice, but got in, probably because it was winter. I'd imagine this place fills to the brim with hikers and campers in the summer. We loved staying here. I did put down only 4 stars for service because the one person on duty was also the lady trying to take payments, answer the phone, AND run the cafe, so it took a while to check in as well as get our breakfast order and check out the next morning. She was trying her best, but clearly needed another set of hands.
Cute little rooms, some with bathrooms and some with only shared bathrooms, according to the website. We booked a room with one. The whole room was paneled in pine, and the bed was SUPER comfy. No TV, no radio, nothing but the rain outside and the distant whistle from the railroad. Best night's sleep away from home I've ever had.
I'm only sorry we couldn't stay more and that I forgot to leave this review sooner.
