Tends to be a madhouse on weekends, but take a number so you can be helped in the shoe department and you get a buzzer! If you forgot your socks or wearing slippers, they have some clean ones to spare! Helpful shoe guys!

Overall rei as a company has gone downhill. Bought a headlamp just over a year ago that I've barely used, and recently it stopped working. I know their forever return policy changed to just a year a while back but I thought it was still forever for products that failed but apparently not. Their warranty was literally the main reason I shopped here, I'll be looking elsewhere now with better prices anyways

Awesome experience with Bike Shop here.
I bought a bike(Cannondale Synapse 2 LE for around 3k) in the month of April 2004. But for some reason, electric charging cable (to charge the Rear derailer battery for electronic shifting - Shimano Proprietary charging cable here) is missed out while the bike is handed over.
I wasn't aware of this until the battery ran out and then went to REI(after 4 months) asking them if they could trace that charging cable.
Dillard from their team asked couple of questions, gladly accepted the request and ordered the Cable for me after enquiring with David Martin.
***They accepted a missing accessory request even after 4 months which is a big deal for a Customer like me.
This team(Dillard and all) is doing Great under the Leadership of David Martin. They are attentive and ensure Customer requests are fulfilled going the extra mile. Thanks a lot.
And i wish them all the very best.
Keep doing the good work.

Keep an eye out for the second-hand items. They still hold great quality and are very affordable - like discovering a hidden gem.

REI had been out to go store for our traveling needs, from warm quality clothing, Darn tough socks, ski gears. I feel REI only sells quality merchandise unlike Amazon, with Amazon I fear buying cheap and fake products and get stuck with broken stuff while in the woods, ski mountains or while out of the country.
Don’t forget to check out the used item section, some very new items are over 50% off, like our backpack.
We also like the semi-annual members sales, we have found many good deals. And we love supporting such a quality store and the great folks that work there ??

I recently called the footwear department at REI and spoke with an employee I think was named Jeff or Dave. I was inquiring about the availability of a specific pair of shoes and he informed me they had two in stock. When he asked about the color preference, I mentioned that it didn't matter to me as I was primarily concerned with the fit and would decide on the color later. He seemed to take offense at this and stated he needed to attend to another customer on hold (I’m also a customer jacka$$). He also refused to hold the shoes for me, simply saying "just drop by today." I found his behavior unprofessional and dismissive.
REI as a business still is the place to go to for outdoor needs, but the bad reviews about the Bellevue location are correct.

Consistently friendly and helpful staff, reasonable selection, pleasant store, but I just have to complain about the absurd “we won’t give you a bag no matter how much stuff you bought” policy. You literally walk out the door with your arms piled high feeling ridiculous. Like fine I’ll order online next time? That’s environmentally friendlier than walking to my local store, for sure.

We had great experience buying a bike. We went to the shop looking for a new city bike for my wife today, Jeff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He had a very friendly altitude, explained everything really well, and the buying experience was smooth and pleasant. I would highly recommend him for beginner bikers :)

Why are there never more than 2 to 3 people working in an incredibly busy shoe dept.
