“Great experience, cleaner than many Hilton Hotels and other big name establishments. Newly renovated with new carpet, freshly painted rooms. Great breakfast for being continental and no cost.”
“Very family friendly hotel. The swimming pool is shallow (4 feet at the deepest end), perfect for young children. Lots of shops nearby for entertainment and food. Close to alot of tourist activities within Bellingham.”

“My favorite place to stay in Bellingham. The service and décor at the Inn are topnotch. The location is ideal for walking to the bay, ferry terminal and train station. Multiple dining options and my favorite bookstore are steps away. It has the feel of a quaint European inn in the heart of the beautiful Pacific Northwest.”

“You need to take the time to explore this lovely hotel. What a historic gem. We booked a suite that gave us excellent space to visit with our kids who go to Western. Would love to stay again and play pool, hang in the library, watch a movie, explore the decks. Also loved the unique original tile work. Dog friendly!!!!”
“You get what you pay for. It was ok. Thank god there is a Starbucks close by as the new phase of in-room coffee is, IMO, awful.
Staff was ok and the place is clean enough!”

“My husband & I spent a week at Bay City Inn. The staff is amazing, especially Aman. He keeps the breakfast area very clean & is a hard worker. Very nice too. The decor is outdated but every other part of our week there was quite perfect. I recommend this motel. It’s close to I5 & many restaurants. The two Queen beds are comfortable. Thanks to Bay City Inn! Sue B.”

“Me and my fiancée come here sometimes when we need a quick place to crash after work. Since the new management took over the last significant changes are visible and we love it!!! Everything is new and the constant fixes around are making this place really nice to stay, it feels safe. Management is always kind and helpful compared to the last customer service. Definitely great things going on since the new management!”

“Nothing special as far as cheap motels go but it was clean and the room I was in had been updated with new counters and floors. The tub, chair, bed and other things were clearly left over and not up dated when other parts were but it was fine for the price.
I thought the bed felt hard and could feel the springs. The pillows were a bit weird. Kind of square, different thickness/firmness and it was like they were wrapped in a sheet instead of a pillow case. Again, weird but not bad necessarily.
The free breakfast is kind of basic. Toast, juice, cereal, waffle maker but it closes at 9 am so we didn’t get a chance to use it. Not a big deal though as right next door is Woods Coffee which has tasty snacks and coffee.
Across the street is Fred Meyer (grocery/department store) so pretty much anything you might need is right there.
The location is also great, a straight shot to downtown (I’d say walkable if you’ve got the time and energy), right off the freeway for easy access to everything else.
The real bonus is that”

“The room was huge! The room was clean! I loved that the shower and the toilet was separate. The staff was super nice.
The egg fritatas for breakfast were really good, but the other breakfast items were sparse. But still there was a lot of fritatas so I chowed down on like 6.”

“Family focused but beautiful hotel. Lobby is very nice and the rooms have been updated. Location is great! The hotel itself is centered around an indoor pool which during swimming hours can make it loud. They cut it off at 8pm for people under 21 which once I saw the design made a lot of sense.
The noise significantly tapered off after 8pm. Done by 9 and we stayed over a Saturday night.
Breakfast is not routinely included which is a bit of a downer but if you know that a head of time you can either pay a bit more or there are tons of great local options.
Would highly recommend this place if you are checking out WWU or staying in Bellingham for a soccer tournament/game like we were.”
“I am not looking to rekindle a romance or to party all night. I am looking for the basics done well, and this describes the Bellingham Lodge. Clean, QUIET, pleasant, warm, good shower, comfortable bed, adequate breakfast, even a hot tub, all at an extraordinarily low price. I couldn't have asked for more.
The last trip I stayed across the street for $16 more, because it was rated sky highly. Oops. It was not quiet (I-5 adjacent), its shower offered the choice between dribblingly warm or forcefully cool, and its heater was loud, erratic, and did not warm the room.
I've found my go-to place in Bellingham. I hope you do too.”

“Beautiful hotel in a pretty location. Very nice room with a wet bar set up. Clean and well appointed with everything we needed…not just the bare minimum of towels, washcloths and cups. Wonderful breakfast with an attendant always there replenishing coffee, juice, milk, eggs, sausage etc. Stayed at several hotels across the US northwest in the last week and this was by far the best and very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay againRooms: Very nice and clean roomFood & drinks: Great hot breakfast with a large variety of items”
“Our team recently hosted a retreat at the Bellwether. Rooms, service, location and meals in their onsite restaurant were all delightful! I was especially impressed with the comfortable pillows, and the afternoon cookies- such a lovely treat! The walking paths around the hotel made for a lovely evening stroll (or bike ride- as the hotel offers them) and there are additional restaurants and a coffee shop nearby. Highly recommend and look forward to visiting again soon!”
