About Whatcom Humane Society
Whatcom Humane Society is a shelter where people can adopt pets and find wonderful animals ready to join a new family. The staff and volunteers are pleasant and do great work, setting animals up for success with socialization, walks, playtime, and training programs. They really care and help make medical needs less scary for adopters. The shelter is not a no kill shelter, so picking a senior pet is highly recommended. The process for adoption is fantastic. Donations of food, supplies, funds, and volunteer time are appreciated and valued. Extra pet supplies are sometimes put out front for free for people in need. The humane society can also help provide food when money is tight. For anyone wanting the companionship of a pet, it is highly recommended to adopt from a shelter, as these animals are infinitely more affectionate and kind. They know you chose them.

Establishment was clean, organized and the staff friendly. A staff member allowed me to enter the indoor kennel area for canines, I was pleased to see the kennal area was clean, well maintained, and without heavy oders.

My dog got out of the yard and animal control picked her up and brought her here. They took great care of my baby and I got her back home safe n sound!
