Nice campground right by Chief Wells Dam. Good bathrooms, small play area with swimming access and a boat launch.

Used the day use area to swim. Water was nice. Rocky/Sandy beach. A bit of green sludge at the bottom.

We drove around and checked the park out and it was beautiful. Very quiet. It is best to make reservations because it was full. There was signs up to watch for rattlesnakes. It has a great boat ramp and lots of space for parking. I would have no problems staying here to camp for a few days.

Sites are wide, semi shaded, with nice sized aluminum picnic table and fire pit. Wasn't any shrubbery, so the sites weren't secluded but the width of site helps. I could open my blinds without feeling watched...lol.The day use area where the "beach" of river to get to was small but nice. A small roped off section for swimming. I didn't check the restrooms, we use our own. We had FHU #24, the back of site(s) on that inner loop had a large mowed field view. Nice. The Chief Joseph Dam was impressive. Located next to CG.

Had an amazing stay here on the last night of a roadtrip. Pulled in quite late and Ranger George was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our site had a large tent pad and grassy area around it as well as wifi, which made route planning much easier without our cell plans activated in the States. Lake looked beautiful. Close to lots of great places: highly recommend Winthrop, Twisp, and TeePee drive-in in Grand Coulee.

Nice stop with a great trail that gives you excellent views of the dam. Easy to picnic with lots of options available. Swim area is very nice and fresh, plenty of parking area.

Good for weekend camping, clean and quiet. Staff is very helpful and reachable all day long. River Beach is close. WiFi is available but not super, it does the job. No signal in the park and the nearest pharmacy is about 8 miles away. Recommended !

First time staying here and I'm so impressed. Ranger George and all of the crew including the camp hosts are great. The state park is clean, very quiet, and has a nice trail to walk. There is a wonderful swim beach as well. Showers are hot and take quarters but not to worry there is a change machine right there. It was a really nice place to stay.
