“Approachable wines, affable merchant! This wine shop in the Columbia City are carries a wonderful variety of affordable and fun wines, with some very nice bottles for special occasions as well. This visit we picked up several new wines to try, some we chose and at least one we bought on a recommendation from the merchant. All very good, and none broke the bank.
What to know: street parking nearby or there is a pay by the hour lot just up the street. Visit the neighborhood for lunch and afterward pop in for some wines to help you celebrate the rest of the week. Wonderful!”

“Stopped by this morning to have some out of office study and recharge time by the sun filled window while sipping a delicious Carmel latte. Violet the wonder barista asked me around 9am if I wanted more than coffee and suggested this egg and smoked trout on an English muffin with spicy aioli which was amazing. How does the chef include just enough spicy kick to wake up the taste buds, well that's a secret but it was just enough protein and gooey egg to compliment the coffee. Service is polite, offering suggestions while taking my order, staff disappears and poof reappears with scrumptious small batch tastebud ticklers.”

“Oh my gosh! Last night they had their annual Champagne Showcase. Tickets were $25. They had 49 different champagnes to sample, and they were all ice cold! Not to mention that they have very knowledgeable and helpful staff for a normal visit and just about anything you could possibly want to drink at their location. I believe they will do special orders if they don't have what you're looking for.”

“I was looking for a very expensive bottle of Jack Daniels for my husband’s boss for Christmas and I called everywhere in Tacoma and West Seattle and no one had it and could not order it for me- I walked into the Vashon liquor store and they had it on the shelf. “Spacious atmosphere and a great selection of beers! If they don’t have what you like on tap, they probably will have it in their extensive beer case. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and willing to make suggestions as needed. The hotdog menu isn’t huge, but I appreciate that they have real food options besides just snacks. Definitely a great spot to chill out and enjoy some quality beverages.”
“All the folks who work the liquor section are awesome. I don't remember their names but at least three times now I have enjoyed the people at the registers here (there are two registers in this section that you can utilize to essentially bypass the other lanes if you buy something from the liquor or health products that are in the secure area of the safeway) The lady that helped me earlier this week was very diligent and worked hard to keep things moving smoothly which I appreciated!”

“It's not often one would give a grocery store chain 5 stars (especially if that grocery store is a Safeway) but alas, here we are. Five stars and I'll tell you why...1. Clean store and in a nice location. A lot do Safeways I find, typically are in terrible locations with no curb appeal. Not here. Location was convenient for me and the retail area it sits in was pretty well maintained.2. Customer service. I quite enjoyed my interactions with the employees I encountered. My cashier was really nice and engaging. 3. Safeway app. While this may not she exclusive this store, it was nice to be able to use the Safeway app to find what isles my groceries were located in. 4. Starbucks. While this is common in a lot of grocery stores in the area, I just had to shout it out because the service and the drink were delicious. 5. We'll stocked. Everything on my list was in stock and shelves seemed full and robust.This Safeway is about 7 min from my home so it's definitely a "go-to" option for me and I will continue to come back.”
“This is a huge grocery store. It is clean, organized, and well-stocked. It's basically an Albertsons, and I was able to use the same app. I got some food and drinks, and the self-checkout was easy and quick to use.”

“For something different, try a visit to one of the many World Market stores located in 33 different US states. (See their website to locate the store nearest you.) We've been to various locations in IL, CO, CA, WA, and NM. They offer a nice variety of reasonably priced home goods from couches to tables to kitchen ware as well as other items. They also have a nice selection of food items from other countries that you generally don't find in your big chain grocery stores. Most locations also have a nice selection of beers and wines that again, aren't usually found in chain grocery stores.
Overall it's a fun place to visit and we recommend it.”
