“This is an absolutely great place To spend a few days in Friday Harbor. The room was clean, comfortable and big enough to completely relax in. We could not figure out how to turn on the Jets in the hot tub, however”

“We came here for dinner and had a wonderful experience! Petra was our server and she was such a delight to be around and spend our evening with. The views were unmatched and the sunset burger was delicious!”
“Great place to stay on the island. The pergola above our private hot tub pulled back to allow forest and hot tub bathing all at once. We enjoyed several soaps and spa amenities included. Breakfast was delicious and a perfect start to the day. The quiche served in a nest of shredded potatoes was amazing. The staff was wonderful and very appreciated. It was a perfect romantic retreat for us!”
“This meal was so good, I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to scream or cry. From to start to finish, Kingfish truly blew me away with every dish. Not only was the food on point but the servers were all lovely, the music brought good vibes and the view of the water was stunning. Every dish had a special touch or twist that surprised and entranced me — like pairing coconut milk beautifully with the seasonal salmon, or chipotle pepper sauce bringing their grit fries to a whole other level. As my first bite, the texture of the grit fries with its near perfect combination of crunchy outside and smooth buttery inside told me I was in for a treat. The way the chef straddled delightful creativity and exquisite execution blew me away. My girlfriend started using clam shells to scoop up the bouillabaisse sauce. We had to ask for extra bread to mop up the last drops. Ending our time with the satisfying and again over-achieving bread pudding left us speechless and almost infuriated in a weird way. We will be visiting again if not planning our next trip around this stop.”

“We were fortunate enough to obtain the top penthouse, 5. It has a large room divided into three spaces, each with plenty of its own space,- kitchen, dining and living. (It would help if you looked at the picture that shows how unique the architecture is, a series of offset boxes for the rooms, suites, and penthouses.)
The bedroom and bathroom are also spacious.
There was a great amount of attention to detail. The faux hardwood floors in the large area had throw rugs, but the bedroom was carpeted. The bathroom had under floor heating as well as wall heating.
The washer came with its own detergent, and the dryer with a wool ball to keep everything from being wrinkled.
The whole operation was digitized, with directions for everything.
The staff were absolutely terrific. During our 5 days here they responded to every one of my inquiries within a matter of minutes. And, they did so quite nicely and with concern that we have a good stay. I make particular mention of Morgan, for our reservation and our first few days here, and Theo who followed up in the office the last couple of days. You could not go wrong staying here.”
“Booked the Friday Harbor suite for a late January girls trip, and we LOVED it!!! The suite was beautiful and the service was amazing! We were both tired of crummy “rental” stays on other trips in other places where you never really know what you’re going to get, and we wanted to stay somewhere luxurious. The Harrison House fulfilled our dreams! The bedding and linens were lovely, the suite was super clean with every need thought of ahead of time, and no requirement for us to do a bunch of cleaning before we left. Oh - and breakfast delivered to your door was such a nice relaxing way to start the day! Denise was our host and she was so good at communicating with us and providing suggestions for our off-season adventure.
While visiting Friday Harbor in January (with excellent sunny weather) we did some light hiking, wandered all the lovely shops, went out for dinner, visited the sculpture park, and walked around Roche Harbor. It was so nice to do this without the crowds, and we loved our evening soak in the hot tub. We would definitely return!”
“This was a great spot for me and my friend to stay while we visited the island for a wedding! We both love animals, gardening, and nature, so this was right up our alley. We loved that the kitchen and bathroom and living space were cozy and well-appointed, plus when it got hot in the upper barn, the AC was ready to help. The two beds were perfect for each of us, and the wifi was fast since there's spotty cell service. We didn't use their TV, but there was streaming options via Roku. We also enjoyed a short tour of the property, included for those staying on property. We didn't mind the geese honks at all hours, and the occasional pig grumbles, but keep it in mind (or bring ear plugs) for sleeping. The Writer's Loft (our unit) is a converted upper barn, so the stairs are a bit steep to access the room but was okay for our ability level. I would recommend having a bag that is easy to carry by hand (not roll) for a short walk from the parking area. I managed okay with my big checked suitcase, but next time I'll be more strategic. Overall, gorgeous location and lots of love put into taking care of the animals and historic land. P.S. I think things have improved in the last decade: there was shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the bathroom, nice cozy decor and soft bedding, and more than enough dish-ware and cooking tools. Plus, an AC unit and a Roku-powered TV.”
“The room was darling and the beds very comfortable. Loved that there were a few kids books there for my 1.5 and 4.5 year old to enjoy. Location is great so close to everything in town/by the harbor!!!”

“I highly recommend Discovery Inn for a stay in Friday Harbor. The staff was warm and welcoming, and made great recommendations for places to visit on the island. My room was very comfortable and the attention to detail was noticeable. The inn is located conveniently close to downtown.”
“We were staying on our boat at the marina in Friday Harbor and had an engine malfunction that caused the boat to fill with smoke. We were unable to sleep on the boat that night and one of the locals on the dock recommended the Bird Rock Hotel. This was at 6 pm the night we needed the room. It all worked out perfectly and the room was incredible. There were three of us and we had 2 bedrooms and it is one of the closest hotels to the marina - couldn’t have asked for a better night after such a stressful afternoon. Would highly recommend!”
“I love visiting Funk & Junk every time I’m in Friday Harbor. I do a lot of antiquing and Annie always has an amazing selection- often at lower prices than Seattle vendors would list comparable items.
Annie is a very interesting and kind person. I’ve had many lovely conversations with her over the years. She knows everything about the islands. But she will also leave people alone to shop and enjoy, if they prefer.”

“This room was so comfortable, checking in was absolutely perfect the woman who checked us in was so kind. The room was clean and quiet. Close to town. Celebrating my daughters birthday and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else”
“Smallish refrigerator, free ice in the lobby, spa on the balcony and a caring and attentive staff. Truly a place to go and unwind and unplug, especially since there is no cell service if you aren't T-Mobile ;) ... Can't wait to unwind here again”
