Schack Art Center is an admission-free visual art center in downtown Everett, WA. The exhibit galleries are open seven days a week and feature diverse, thoughtful, and interesting artwork from locally and internationally known artists, as well as emerging young talents and children. The beautiful space features diverse collections of media by very talented people. From the main gallery, visitors are able to watch professional glassblowers at work in the state-of-the-art hot shop, which is really cool when it is bustling in the background. The facility also has seven other specialized production studios for a wide array of classes for youth and adults in silversmithing, lapidary, fused glass, flameworking, stained glass, painting, drawing, and printmaking. Many classes are highly recommended, with instructors who bring a wealth of knowledge and truly care about their students. A highlight is the well-curated gift shop, which is delightful and rivals others. It has beautiful and unique gifts from local artists, and the staff there are warm and welcoming. It is never too crowded, admission is free, and street parking is usually easy to find very close by. Several restaurants and stores in the area help keep the day going.
