“We’ve been taking our cats to Village Vet for the past few years, along with a few other kitties we’ve found on the street, and every single visit has been a great experience! We’ve come for yearly checkups, vaccinations, blood tests, illnesses, last minute (mild) emergencies, a spay, and more. They also provided us with a recommendation for a foot surgeon when our kitten needed a toe amputated. They are so versatile, while also making the process super easy.
Some of our cats are nervous at first, but the way the techs/VAs make them comfortable, play with them, and give them treats makes appointments go so smoothly. I brought our cat Marvin in a few days ago, and he genuinely had such a fun time, he probably can’t wait to come back!
I find their prices affordable, and we’ve even gotten discounts when bringing in multiple cats for their yearly visits. We also have pet insurance, and Village Vet always provides paperwork and bills in the exact way I need them. I have never felt pressured to pay or purchase anything, and they are very transparent when things aren’t necessary.
Shout out to Lee who has helped us out multiple times, and Annie who has been our VA quite a few times as well. They are both lovely people, hard workers, and individuals who obviously enjoy what they do. We’ve met many of the vets here and all of them have been very helpful and great at explaining everything.
I also love the way they treat pets in general. Pets are given your last name and are treated like family members. One time I arrived half way through an appointment (my partner was with the cats, and I came from work) and they said “your family is waiting in room two.” Obviously the big things are important, but the little things like that are what makes this place so great!
We’ve recommended this vet to many of our friends, and we will continue coming back!”
“Best vet hospital in town. Our animals have always been cared for with genuine compassion, and the staff treats them as if they were their own pets. We recently had to euthanize our 12-year-old German Shepherd. Although it was an incredibly difficult day for us and we miss our girl dearly, the staff helped make the experience a little easier with their kindness, empathy, and professionalism throughout the entire process. “Our dear Ozzie suffered a sudden medical issue and our regular veterinarian could not see him urgently. We called Ferndale Veterinary and were told he could be seen that afternoon. We had to take Ozzie in for two additional short notice visits. Dr. Johner and his staff were so caring, sympathetic, and professional in their care of Ozzie. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to our wonderful boy of 10+ years. We can not say enough about the care we received for a new patient of less than three weeks. We will continue with Dr.Johner for our pet's needs and highly recommend him to others.”

“My cat is petrified of vets. It takes every ounce of emotional strength for both of us to go to a veterinary facility. But everytime I have taken Tux to Dr.Day, I have been able to go in with him, calm him down and stay with him until he is sedated and calm. I feel totally comfortable leaving Tux in his care and I love how they care for him. Now, Dr Day's ultrasound imaging is thorough and precise. He covers everything in detail and its easy to understand. He can definitely do a proper job with accuracy and professionalism. They were very informative during the whole visit & even let me stay in the office while my pup was sedated for xrays. I took him to AEC for a microchip scan where they welcomed me and were able to help me immediately-- the staff members connected me with animal control and the humane society, so the lost dog found his way to a warm and safe place that night. “Absolutely would go back again. Our pup jumped out our bedroom window and we are not from here. They took her in that day immediately and gave X-rays finding out she broke her leg and they put a rush on surgery and even made sure the next day that all was stable but it wasn't so they had to go back into surgery free of charge and fix it also they kept her for 4 nights to monitor her and make sure she was well before we brought her home. I would definitely recommend anyone to this vet and would come back again if needed.”

“After my normal vet told me that they couldn't see my dog with facial swelling for over a week, I called Whatcom Vet on my mom's recommendation. The wonderful office staff were able to get me in within a half hour of calling. Dr Johnson was able to determine that my dog's tooth needed to be pulled, and they performed the surgery the following week. the vet tech, Nancy, was very informative and kind, and I knew that my girl was in the best of hands. My dog has recovered with absolutely no issues, and I will not hesitate to bring her back.
