I took the 2 hour Sewing Machine Basics class and was so happy at what I was able to take away from the class. My husband bought me a Brother PQ1500 SL for Christmas during Covid and although I've watched videos on how to use it online, I was able to retain more information by taking a live class as I am more of a hands-on learner. The way Kristin compared how the main functions of a sewing machine is like driving a car was the PERFECT way to get the students to understand the main features. The pace of the class was great as we practiced sewing air lines and corners on paper. We then progressed to using thread on scraps of fabric. By the end of class we each made our own little drawstring bags. Sewing is a great skill to have and if you have a sewing machine and you don't know how to use it, have been wanting to take a sewing class or just want to explore a new hobby, I HIGHLY recommend taking a class at Sew Hip in Gig Harbor!

Such a fun store. I went in because I needed a seam ripper, and the lady who worked there immediately found it for me. I say it's fun though, because looked liked there were tons of events and classes held there. If I had had more time, I would have checked out the full offerings because it felt like a lot goes on there. I'll have to stop by again soon.

I’m fairly local, and I want to like this shop, but the owners are kind of rude. I noticed it last year on Shop Hop, but got the same attitude from them this year. Not acknowledging people that come in, it’s like they think they are running a private club for themselves and maybe a few others. Last year I blew it off, this year, well, this is a quilt shop to skip. Too bad, they have some nice Tula, of course, at sky high prices.

Wow!! This place is incredible! I have lived in the Seattle area for over 25 years and this is such a unique store. The two cutie pies that run this place are super knowledgeable and professional. The level of customer service that they deliver is what’s missing from modern retail. When you first enter this place, you will be greeted by the girls and you can feel the engagement. Wow what a gem of a store this is. Ran upon it totally by mistake. What a happy mistake to make. The owner was so friendly and helpful. Saw all the latest and greatest fabrics from top designers as soon as you walk in the door. This is a must see place!
