I have used Costco travel annually for quite a few years now and they were always great picks for vacation. This year however, 2024, the hotel in Hilo (SCP Hilo Hotel) was terrible along with the car rental company (Budget in Kailua Kona, and Budget in Kauai). Costco Travel needs to keep up on their homework for which companies are of value to their customers because I trusted them to be legit since they are listed under Costco. This year's expensive 2-island vacation was a bust.

I recommend not working for Costco travel, all employees are not treated fairly, ridiculous policies, incompetent staffing. Keep looking for something else.

This is a work location not intended for the public. If you are interested in travrl information or services it is best to call Costco Travel Directly, as there is no face to face service or travel booking here. When speaking to them by phone they are very professional and fast and can book any kind of trip you are looking for, as they are all local licensed travel agents.

Booked a car through Costco. Budget tried to say we didn’t return car and we showed them our receipts for returning the car repeatedly. They continued to say we didn’t return car. We called Costco and told them what was happening, within minutes whole problem resolved. Thank you Costco!

I love using Costco travel. Never had issues except for there cash card offer. I rented a SUV in Oct. that offered a $25.00 cash card. I never received it so in Feb. I contacted them. I was told they have no record of me returning the vehicle. I contacted Budget in Ogden Utah \u0026 they confirmed I rented from 10/17-10/24. I contacted CT again but have had no response. It's like they do not believe I rented the vehicle. ————-Update———— Costco travel contacted me \u0026 was more than happy to fix the problem. Thank you so much for the friendly staff for personally calling me. Today I received the $25.00 shopping card. Update again--------- I rented a SUV again in June that offered a $30.00 cash card. It's been over 2 1/2 months \u0026 nothing. I filled out the inquiry but no response. Really frustrating.

I used their car rental n it was okay. Not much of a discount on the rental compared to not using it. Maybe a dollar or two u save. Not worth the Hassel of to getting all I have to do to get a 2 dollar discount. It doesn't have a place to select for senior discount, or military discount, n the car place u r renting from doesn't ask if u wanted or needed these discounts. Hopefully they will read this n change it so is seniors n military can get those discounts if they had it. The people at the rental agency don't ask if we have the military or seniors discounts. Maybe they do when u come to rent ur car. I will find out friday when I go pickup my rental. Thank u n have a good day.

Do not use for renting car…we were not given the car we rented, we were told it was similar but it didn’t not hold the suitcases it said it would. Costco will not back you up when Avis misrepresented what we were getting. We had to rent an additional car and Costco has refused to compensate it! Costco you are better than this, this is why I used you!! Never again

This is about a travel partner, not necessarily Costco. I have always had good service from Costco Travel . This time, I used Budget to rent a car. I will never recommend nor use that company again. They just sent me a $450 charge to vacuum pet hair! Stay away from Budget!

I made reservations through Costco Travel for my husband and I to go on a vacation to Maui. We had round trip direct flights to and from. When we got to the airport there was no Hawaiian Airlines counter and we were told our flight had left 3 hours ago. I called Costco Travel and they said they sent me emails, I checked our trash and spam and email...nothing other than the original confirmation. They ended up getting us a flight with a stop in Seattle on the way there, but we missed out on an entire day in Maui. On our way home it was another flight with a stop in LA and we weren't even seated together, a 3 hour layover, and an additional cost of over 200.00!! How in the world can that be okay? I am so angry, they ruined our holiday and will never use them again.

I have booked a trip to Italy for September through Costco Travel and Insight Vacations. I had Insight Vacations (through Costco Travel) book my flights - BIG MISTAKE!! I have been trying for over a week to change my seats on the flights - my payment in full still has not posted so no tickets have been issued for this flight - but they have my payment in full! The seats are filling up and I am afraid I will not get the seats I want. I was just on hold for OVER 2 HOURS - no answer!! They are not responding to email either.Going forward, if I ever use Costco Travel again (probably not) I will NEVER have them book my airline flights again!!Diane Bihun

Wow! What a joke. Used Costco Travel to book a rental car for vacation. Wish I didn’t have to leave any stars on the review. Had a reservation in advance, still waited in an extremely long queue to get paperwork. Same extremely long queue was then waiting two garages over to receive their rentals. One employee said she was going to get a shuttle van to take everyone to their cars and that process was still going on when our car finally arrived. It was smaller than the one we booked but considered same “class”. Ours was dirty, moist ketchup still on a seat, 1/4 tank of gas. Within 24 hours, had to add a quart of oil after a warning light came on. It’s made for a miserable vacation so far.

I spoke with a customer service representative named Chloe from Oklahoma and she was absolutely amazing! After Royal Caribbean refused to give me any information Chloe went back and forth between us to get me the answers I needed. I did not even ask her to do this, she offered! Chloe you went above and beyond! Costco, you hire the best employees!

I have booked with Costco Travel in the past and it was great (great deals, great trips, etc). Recently I have been trying to book a new trip. Clicked "Request a Quote" (twice) and get the response that I will hear back in 24-48 hours. Never heard anything either time. Tried the phone number on multiple days, and waited on hold - once more than an hour and half before giving up. Terrible, terrible customer service.They are unresponsive. Apparently they don't need the business!

We booked a 6 night stay through Costco travel in October 2022 for a stay 2/12/2023 - 2/18/2023After 12 hours of travel and the first time traveling outside of the US with my daughters, we arrive to the hotel. They have no reservation for us that we have 100% prepaid through Costco. In fact, they had the reservation dates down for December 2022 instead of February 2023 and it shows we no showed on a prepaid reservation in December. No one at the hotel or Costco contacted us when we no showed on a prepaid reservation.I also emailed the hotel twice before we traveled and no one replied. CALL THE HOTEL IF YOU BOOKED THROUGH COSTCO. The hotel and Costco had ample time to realize the mistake, but did nothing.There was a lot of finger pointing between both Garza Blanca and Costco who was at fault here. Both of them had several opportunities to correct this prior to my trip and they did nothing. So this resulted in the room I paid for not being available. I had a crying 11 & 14 year old girls at the front desk while they tried to blame this on me. At no time did I get an apology from the hotel or Costco which still bothers me.Costco's Customer Service rep Annette said 'these things happen' when I was trying to get help while I was on my trip. I was paying out of pocket at this point because the hotel had no record of payment from Costco. I called after my trip, no assistance. I filed a claim request online, no response. I wrote a poor review about the hotel on Costco's website about the experience, they wouldn't post it.Costco will take your money, but as for any help when you are traveling or responding after your trip, good luck. I'll book direct with the hotel in the future.
