If I could give 0 star, I will do that. The people there will never apply the correct benefits of your insurance. When I come back for this, they just don’t listen to you and convince you that you do not have that benefits. Never go there!

Costco Kirkland optical dept.
While the ophthalmologist at Kirkland Costco is great value, this review is for the glasses purchase and fitting dept. The stand out employee is Tahereh Ahmadifakhr. Over the last 4 years, 6 visits. She has made my multiple glasses experience exceptional. Why? Besides being highly professional and knowledgeable , she has also been hospitable. Always makes the customer feel like she’s happy to see you. Smiles easily to all. I have seen her, with that same pleasant attitude, with multiple customers over 4 years.

The were having sunglasses discount even but removed deliberately all the sunglasses from the displays, forcing people to wait in a very slow optical line just to get a glimpse of their stock

Avoid this place if you value your time and dignity. I called them three weeks after my appointment, waited on line for 20 min to only figure out they had lost my prescription and failed to order the trial lenses. To make matters worse, they treated me as if it were my fault. A truly disappointing experience.

Went to the optometry department at Costco. They were super busy as it was the end of December and there were a ton of people waiting to use their vision benefits by the end of the year, just like I was. Despite the wait, I received fantastic service. Got two frames. Great service, great price.

Christie at the Costco Optical section was amazing! It was crazy busy since everyone is trying to get glasses before end of year, but Christie was extremely patient, friendly, and helpful. She went above and beyond explaining all of the options. People like Christie make Costco great!!

I had a disappointing experience at the Costco Optical in Kirkland, WA. I had an appointment to get my pupillary distance measured, but the front desk service advisor, Michael, refused to help unless I committed to purchasing glasses there. Even after I expressed my intention to buy, he walked away and wouldn’t continue the conversation. This left me quite upset, especially since I was ready to make a purchase.

I went in today to accompany my mom for her appointment. She doesn’t speak English too well which is why I went in with her. The front desk lady was very sweet and kind to my mom! She addressed both of us and helped my mom really well. When we saw the doctor, she was very kind and addressed all the concerns my mom had, she answered all of our questions and really made us feel comfortable about being there! I appreciate them for helping her out and being kind! Great experience overall!

whatever you do, don't go to the eye doctor inside the Costco. Get your eyes checked with a proper doctor, get your prescription and then order them there here. The least is to not deal with doctor rude secretary behaviour. I'm returning my glasses and I dont think I ever use costco optical .

I went into to get a prescription lens for my frame. Alan was working with me. He was uncommunicative and blameful.
He gather asked me for my lens requirement and didn’t gave me a quote. When I asked for a quote, he said, “I don’t know, we will see once we put in the information in the insurance system”
After he spent ~20 minutes working with the insurance system. He told me that my insurance would only cover less than $30. I thought the coverage was very low and I said I’d like to go elsewhere to get a second quote. At this time he became apparently frustrated and blamed me for changing my mind.
I’ve been a long time Costco member and I had very positive experience with other Costco services. I’m very disappointed for the vision center customer service and o don’t think it lives up to Costco standard.

Over the past few years, I have purchased 13 pairs of glasses from Costco. Recently, however, they refused to fit prescription lenses into frames purchased from outside sources. This refusal was not communicated in advance. Instead, after placing my order and waiting, I was told they would message me, but I received no contact for 2-3 weeks. When I finally visited the store, I waited 30-40 minutes before being informed that they couldn’t process my order due to the crystal embellishments on my frame. Despite showing that I had previously fitted lenses into the same frame at the same Costco Optical Department, they claimed the policy had changed. All I received was a formal apology for the wasted time.
I was refunded, but the real issue began when I ordered two new pairs of glasses from Costco’s own frames with my updated prescription. Despite my prescription improving, I experienced severe dizziness and had to return the glasses. After consulting with my doctor, I tried again a few months later, but one of the three pairs I ordered was uncomfortable and had to be returned. This time, I was treated like a blacklisted customer, with Costco refusing to process the return. When I referenced Costco’s policy guaranteeing 100% satisfaction and returns for any reason, another employee reviewed my history and accused me of repetitive returns. They eventually accepted the return but warned me against frequent returns in the future. I responded that this would be my last purchase from them.
Out of the 13 pairs of glasses for myself and my family, I returned three because they were dizzying and uncomfortable. Why were some glasses with the same prescription clear and comfortable, while others caused discomfort? It points to potential issues in the lens-making process at costco optical lab.
My experience was humiliating. If they had informed clearly from the start that they wouldn’t accept frames with crystals, and their lens were manufactured perfectly, I wouldn’t have been forced into multiple returns. Why are they treating me like a blacklisted customer due to their own mistakes? Costco Optical Department needs to change its policy. They should clearly state they won’t accept returns, unless customers have to go through all the humiliation and lectures.

This place is a joke, the staff are useless and just standing there doing nothing instead of helping customers. I can’t believe costco let such place exist, what a shame

No one picks up the phone. I called 3 times. The eyeglass frames they carry are overpriced and poor quality. If you bring in your own frames, they will claim they can’t use it because it’s not new and they will give you a spiel about how they don’t want to be responsible for breaking your frames when they install the lenses. But they sell frames that are so flimsy they will break first before my high quality frames bought from a different retailer that they rejected.

Crews and customers are all hours of waiting for nothing. Short of eye measurement table (only one).
