Do not use STCU for a home loan. We've had many issues over the years. During COVID and my divorce, my ex was court ordered to pay the mortgage, but she didn't. I was in constant contact with Kevin at STCU because I was advised by my legal team not to make the payments. Then I found out that Kevin was trying to auction off my house (during COVID). I paid the arrears, thousands in legal fees and late fees. Fast forward two years, I've been on autopay for my mortgage payment for the current amount due each month. Recently, our mortgage payment increased by $13.26 per month (property taxes). STUC didn't process the last payment for the current amount so it left a $13.26 balance. They charged us an $87 late fee because their system didn't pickup the change in the monthly mortgage amount. Frankly, this should be illegal. I called them, they argued with me. Finally, they let me use my once in a lifetime late payment waiver. As soon as interest rates come down I will leave this bank. I am also going to contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to make a complaint. The home Loan department is the worst for it's customer service and taking advantage of its customers.

Been with them for 20 years but things are changing with their policies. So now in order to get money out I have to remove my prescription glasses???? Even though my account was fully verified???? I will be looking for a different credit union.

They love to randomly charge you for stuff like "service fees"and "cash advance" it's crazy that I didn't catch it until now. STCU is known for charging their customers $5 randomly and it's ridiculous. I can have my credit card paid off and they charge for a fee and then I'm paying a interest rate when I haven't used...like wtf. $50 here $50 there they are hella sneaky, I suggest you check your statements when you have a lot of transactions that's when they sneak the charge in. I don't recommend them for a bank. Previously I had a loan through them and they tried to add $900 to my loan and get away with it and when I called they said oh that's not right, obviously they like to charge extra and hope they will get away with it. Pathetic bank they just take take take and not care about their customers

There's an INCREDIBLE customer service rep named Issac who I have spoken to a couple times over the phone now. He is spectacular at his job, incredibly friendly and proficient, always positive, and an absolute pleasure to talk to. Massive props!

Amazing employer and credit union. I've been a member for almost 5 years now and love it. I started with just a First5 savings and it is such a great account to have! Definitely recommend this for everyone.

In the last 18 months things have changed significantly at STCU. The only way I could describe it is a complete nosedive. The mobile app and online banking features have been restricted and provide less information than they used to. This ultimately leads to more online chats and phone calls which have also seen a significant drop off in service. There has not been a time I have tried to call or chat in where I waited less than 15 minutes to speak with anyone in the last year and a half. Absolutely disappointed and am looking for a new credit union. Good riddance.

Love getting late fees on my account while it takes them almost a week to deposit on my checks via mobile deposit making me miss payment dates. I've banked with STCU all my life and I would never recommend them to anyone

I have been an STCU member for 20 years, and I am appalled at how they handled this situation: I pulled up to an ATM, put my card in the machine, and took "too long" to put my PIN in (probably 1-2 min). The machine then stole my card! It wouldn't give it back either. So that feature is for my security, fine. But an employee can't give it back?? Even with valid ID?? THAT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND UNNACEPTABLE SERVICE.

STCU Vehicle Lien? Don't buy the car! If you are looking to buy a vehicle and the owner has a loan with STCU, don't do it! I purchased a car from a STCU member on July 27, 2018. The purchase money I brought to the bank paid off the STCU member's auto loan. I was assured by the STCU employee that STCU would process all of the title documents and I would receive the title in the mail from the Department of Licensing in about 6 weeks. I went to the DMV and paid $14 for a temporary title in July. The title did not arrive, so I went to the DMV again paid another $14 for a temporary title in August. Low and behold September arrives, and I have to go to the DMV again to get a third temporary title for $14. The DMV said, "you should have your title by now." I call STCU today, October 1, 2018, and am told that they do not have the paperwork and that the paperwork was never submitted to the Department of Licensing. I have copies of the paperwork from STCU, so I forward it to Andrew at STCU. Andrew replies, "sorry, you're going to have to work with the seller to try to get the title." Really? We did the transaction at STCU. I have an STCU Authorization to release title documents to a third party signed and in hand. I was assured by STCU that the title would be sent to me. Now I have to get back in touch with the seller to obtain the title? I have purchased two vehicles where STCU had a lien, I will not be purchasing another with an STCU lien. If STCU has a lien on a vehicle, I would encourage you to look for another car if you want to actually obtain the title for the vehicle!
