Years ago I found out about this group and took my son here to give him an outlet for his interest in electronics as I had no training or experience with it. Everyone was very welcoming and accepting of him. He is neuro-atypical and struggles with socializing normally, but he did well here.. At first I just read a book or listened to conversations, as I am a shy introvert and just came as my son's ride. After OlyMEGA was able to open back up after Covid, I joined in the boardgames on Friday and lost my shyness. Now my son and I love going every Thursday and Boardgame Fridays.I can happily say that my shyness is mostly gone when I am at OlyMEGA and I now reach out to new people when they come.

OlyMEGA is one of the most fun and inspiring places I've been in during my lifetime. OlyMEGA is an excellent workspace for any project. The people, staff, volunteers, and board members at OlyMEGA are well-mannered, polite, and informative. Every one of my experiences with OlyMEGA is profitable and educational.

I visited most recently for a Japanese wooden box workshop and recommend! I felt like I was back in my middle school shop class (my favorite place) and enjoyed turning off my overthinking brain and just working with the tools and materials. Fun group of people. The space is busy with members coming and going and even some pets which is cheery. Be prepared for a bit of clutter and chaos since the space is smallish and in an older building downtown ... Nothing that will shock anyone who has tried to keep their own garage shop clean ? Members are knowledgeable and very open to helping you with your projects if you stop in to their open houses ?

I started with this group about 3 years ago. They were very welcoming and eager to help me learn. I knew nothing about 3D printing and other computer controlled devices. Since then I have refurbished a large CNC router, and am now I'm on a project building a laser engraver. Very affordable, even at the highest membership level. Don't expect a fancy makerspace with all of their fees. This is a large group of friends pooling their resources and figuring out how to build the crazy ideas in their heads.
