They charged me for insurance that was already paid for. The car had 22k miles on it and ran like crap. Transmission was shot. The brakes and tires were scary. No acceleration and almost didn't make it up a hill in dallas.Worst car I ever rented.I complained to the company and they basically said I'm screwed. Never again will I use this company.

I wish I could give negative reviews. The car was not cleaned when I rented it. I took pictures of the outside and of the gas as I noticed that was less than half full and they want to charge $5.37 a gallon, if you bring the fuel back on empty. I found the following items when I was unloading my car of groceries. I contacted customer support and was told that I'd need to fill out a survey on the thrifty website regarding the tank not being full AND then another claim for the trash and condom left on the floor in the back seat. The CS rep responded that I should bring the car back immediately as someone will be looking for the shoes. I told her that since they couldn't clean the car BEFORE I rented it that I would be bring it back, when it was convenient for me. I rented this car to allow my daily life to not be disrupted while awaiting my car to get fixed. Even though its protocol to clean the car before its rented, they did not. After 3 weeks, my car was finally ready and I returned the vehicle, at my convenience. I was instructed by email to ask for a manager when I returned the car. I did mention this and the manager, never came out. I also, had to show them gas tank wasn't full to avoid them charging me for no filling the tank up. The front desk person reviewed my pictures but the manager never came out to apologize or talk to me about it. Today, I followed up via email about being compensated for the car and was told they didn't charge me for freight and that they can't refund me money as I should have returned the car. Please don't rent from them, it will be more headache then its worth and you may end up with a used condom and dirty car, but hey at least you got a car, right?!

Was asked if I wanted insurance I declined but was charged. Then was charged 70 dollars to fill a tank that was already full. Let alone the damage to the car on the driver’s side rear corner and the the windshield wipers needed to be replaced. You would think in Seattle that would be important. Don’t rent from thrifty. My rental that should have been 200 cost well over 400. Scam artists beware

One extra star for polite customer service when I picked up my vehicle, but other than that I had a very negative experience with Thrifty. The line was insanely long to pickup my rental. I stood in an extremely long line for two hours to pickup my rental. This not only delayed my day significantly because I missed out on our first activity, but the two hour standing aggravated my arthritis which negatively impacted the first few days of my trip. There was no alternative option for pickup that didn't require standing in that line, which was extremely unfortunate because I feel like most of check-in stuff probably could be handled online before getting there to reduce everyone's wait time. I am grateful for the helpful person that helped me at the desk, she was professional and friendly despite having to help an overwhelming number of customers. I also wasn't happy with the Mercedes I rented, it had a big watermelon sized dent on the drivers side, which was marked with a sticker so I know they saw it. But I would have preferred a rental without any extremely visible damage. I would have asked for another vehicle, had there been someone to ask down in the rental lot, but there was no one in sight. I was also not about to go wait in that line, which by the time I left was even longer. I called to let them know about the issues at pickup and asked if I could have my rental extended two hours free of charge to makeup for some of the issues, I was told this wasn't a problem. I returned the vehicle and was sent an invoice for an additional day even though I returned the vehicle within the two hours they had agreed to. Very disappointed and strongly urge anyone reading this to rent elsewhere. They don't care about their customers or the vehicles they're providing.

Sketchy! Prepaid via company discount website. Website stated I needed to pay last 100 dollars in person, upon pickup, for whatever reason. When I arrived, salesperson immediately added full cover extended additional insurance without explicit consent. They default to that without saying anything. When I noticed the unusually high bill, I went out of my way to look up my original prepaid bill.... Noticed something was very very wrong. I asked about this, but salesperson didn't say anything. I looked at the bill they printed out, and noticed some kind of insurance added, so I asked to remove them. They then said - hey, you'll want to buy the minimum coverage. If you get into an accident, while waiting for repair of rental, you're still on the hook for the rental daily fee. I said, no thanks, I will worry about that if it happens... Finally - the bill reflected what I was expecting to pay. Tips for future customers: print and bring prepaid bill. Watch out for defaulted insurance scamming. Record video of entire car front to back before accepting and after dropping off. Happy and safe travels!

USE ANYONE BUT THRIFTY!! My husband and I rented a car from Thrifty at the Seattle Airport. I was charged for a car seat which was not in the car, when my husband went to the booth to get some help no one was there. At 1130pm after traveling for 8 hours, I had a very cranky 5 year old so we left. To my surprise when I received the invoice I was charged for the car seat. We sent an email requesting a refund. They sent a response stating they were working on it, it has been 4 days now and no resolution. It seems to be a simple process, was a car seat checked out and was a car seat received? No, because there wasn't one. Additionally they refused to take a credit card because it has my name on it and I wasn't going to be driving. I was standing next to my husband while attempting to pay! We share an account, same last name. When my husband offered his debit card, the guy at the counter acted ignorant and said he needed a credit card, to which I replied, "You're holding the credit card". Begrudgingly he took my husband's debit card and charged us an additional $500. Definitely the worst car rental company experience with terrible policies in place and poor customer service. We had to drive 4 days without a car seat for our daughter.

I think the key to having quick service is to arrive after 10pm on a Monday or Tuesday! Year after year I have no problems because I take the afternoon flight at the beginning of the week. My plane landed at 9:15pm and it took longer to get my bags then getting the car. At the Thrifty desk, she tried hard to sell me insurance policies and protection policies, also an upgraded car attempt for a higher price, but I said a hard no to everything. When I went downstairs they gave me a Hyundai Venue, a cute tiny SUV. Worked with my phone Android Auto no problems. I booked this rental with Wisecars broker app, cost me 330 total for a week!

This company engages in fraud. I made a reservation online for a car with insurance and was charged properly. I did the mobile check-in to save time and all I needed was to pickup my keys at the counter. I waited 90 minutes in line and then when I made it to the counter I was charged an addition $300. I did not approve the transaction. The counter person tried to say it was extra coverage that I needed "because it was illegal for me to operate the car without it". Customer service has refused to refund this charge and it had to be reported as fraud to my credit card company. I also received the wrong car. This company is a complete joke and I will never use this service again. The employee also would not give me her name verbally and said she would write it down...naturally it is not quite legible.

Rating a big fat Zero! I dropped my "wallet" when leaving the car at Logan. It took three weeks before Thrifty "found" it, then it cost me $42.00 to get it back I will never ever rent from Thrifty in the future.

The line to check in for our car was about 2 hours. We ended up canceling our reservations and going with a different car company.

Absolute shocking service, I arrived in Seattle at 11:30pm to be told that Thrifty had run out of cars despite me booking weeks ago. Customer service was non-existent. I had to Uber to a hotel and pay for a hotel for the night. I will never use this company again, that's for sure. I am sure that the 20 other people in the line with me last night feel the same way. Shocking!

It was so much easier than I expected. Costumer service was great! I was greeted with a smile, she was very friendly and professional ( i wish i can remember her name) the only thing I remember is that she lived in Alaska for 8 years. Getting the car very easy and dropped off too. It’s A+

As many other reviews said, if I could give 0 starts, I would. I guess you get for you pay for. You pay to deal with representatives that will be extremely unfriendly and will make you feel stupid. There are barely any signs for thrifty at the airport. You need to follow Hertz signs to get there. The lady at the front desk was very pushy trying to upsell. A very unfriendly environment and a terrible customer experience is what you get at thrifty. We booked a full size car, got a mid size. We went back to the front desk to mention that we booked a full size sedan. The representative look at us like we were stupid and said that it's the same thing. Maybe they should educate their representatives. Both their sign and Google says the car we were given was a mid size car.Furthermore, the car had multiple damages and was not clean. It was making odd noises but luckily got us to where we needed to go and back without breaking. Make sure you take photos and videos to show the damage before you take the car. Note it on the paper as well so you don't get charged for the damage that was there already.

wait time to process my check-in and collect the car took 2 hours. Workers were disorganized and dishonest about the policies and did not correctly note down what I wanted for my booking. Was attempted charge on my card for an additional 130 dollars for 12/gallon worth of "fuel and service" when I confirmed with the desk attendant that I wanted the refuel option for 5.30/gallon rate (as noted behind their desk which I checked before agreeing). Poor service. Underhanded charges. No communication. Chose this as a budget option but it turns out to be a scheme to extort more money than a regular rental through shady and dishonest charges going AGAINST my booking choices. Would warn everyone I know against this service. Not worth the time and most certainly not the money. Unfortunate that I can't put ZERO stars instead of 1.Update: their reply is meant to mislead you into thinking they want to help but you get no response. It might be more productive talking to a wall. I'm bringing this issue to my bank and calling them directly because obviously they don't actually want to "help" on their official channels
