ArtsWest is a small, professional theater and art gallery located in the Alaska Junction of West Seattle, celebrating over 25 years of bringing art to the community. The theater hosts five productions each season, including musicals, contemporary plays, classics, and new works. Its intimate 3/4 thrust stage seats 149, allowing audiences to feel close to the performers, many of whom also appear on larger Seattle stages like Seattle Rep, ACT, and The 5th Ave. The theater's lobby features a C-shaped art gallery with five annual exhibitions by Seattle artists. Visitors often praise the theater for its powerful performances and creative staging, with productions like "The Effect" and "Matt & Ben" receiving high praise. The small size creates a cozy atmosphere that proves a moving story doesn't require a big stage or cast. However, some note that side seating can result in hearing difficulties, suggesting a need for better sound equipment. The staff are friendly and helpful, often going above and beyond to assist visitors, making ArtsWest a beloved community hub for theater and art in Seattle.
Incredible regional theater with a staff that cares deeply about putting on quality productions that broaden horizons. I've seen nearly ten plays here as of 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed each and every one.

The play I saw was great! Awkward land acknowledgement before the show. Like…why even do it? It looks ridiculous. You’re not gonna give the land back LOL.

The best small theater in Seattle area imo. Proves you don’t need a fancy stage or a big cast to deliver a moving story. My best friend introduced me to them and we’ve been going to their plays several times a year.
The Effect was the best thing I’ve seen from ArtsWest. Athena was also fantastic!!!
