“This wonderful place is the closest I’ve been able to get to a year-round farmers market in the entire state of WA in the last six years. They always have the best avocados!! I grew up in California and can be picky… Duane does a fantastic job offering a great selection of produce and other goods, including shelf-stable pantry goods, local eggs, milk, ice cream, honey, and even garden plants (flowers, herbs, etc). So incredibly grateful for Duane and this spot! He’s always expanding his selection and adding to the already extensive variety, and the customer service is always amazing.”

“Since moving to the area this has been my go to for a quick veggie and fruit shop. The prices are extremely affordable, doesn’t make me feel like I will go into debt to eat nutritious fresh foods. The discount table is a GEM and something I’ve never seen before, but cheap ripening bananas to make banana bread same day or next day is genius. I am always looking for ways to lower waste. Buying a bunch of bananas and waiting a week to ripen typically results in rotten bananas on my counter and no banana bread, on repeat.”

“I am absolutely in love with this place. They have the best pineapple around, and for a fair price. I somehow managed to find ripe peaches in the middle of winter, but the second time I purchased them, they were inedible. I dont feel that is a reflection on the seller, but a gamble I take purchasing fruit outside of its season. So just keep that in mind when purchasing fruit. Moving on! I am definitely a fruit person, and whenever I go to Lee's, I like to try something that I have never had before. The last time I went, I bought some Lemon Plums that were absolutely DELICIOUS once they had ripened from their lemon yellow color to a stunning shade of ruby. The variety is wonderful, and one can get all sorts of nectarines, various berries, pineapple, plums, apples, citrus fruits, several types of banana and plantain, mango and melons, pomegranate, persimmon, pomelo, and more. The vegetables are fresh and beautiful, and again, are varied and plentiful. All sorts of root vegetables, leeks, bok choy (and baby bok choy!), several types of cabbages, peppers, tomatillos, nopales, and more. They also sell some pantry and freezer options that I recommend you peruse.”

But, we definitely recommend mixing sour apple and cherry, and lavender and yuzu flavoured apple cider together! There's also lots of bees that chill around the jugs. They're harmless. Just getting lost in that cider. Such cute fuzzy guys ☺”

I've been told to call ahead of time to ensure they can refill it, but was just told now they need 24 hours notice to get a refill, which is incredibly inconvenient when you're driving 35 minutes to the location. Sure wish getting a new growler at the Ballard Sunday Market was an option since that goes on every week...”

“It can feel a little challenging to actually get something at Sosio's, but you just have to step in from the crowd and someone will be ready to help you. The samples have kept my kids happy for six years now and the employees know what they're talking about. The prices are amazing, especially compared to chain grocery stores. The workers know what is ripe and what will ripen — and ask how soon you're going to eat something. I love being able to tell them that I need tomatoes for a sauce or a salad and that impacting what they suggest. The herb offerings are amazing (and in the fridge, so you have to ask), and the mushrooms and mangoes can't be believed. It's my go-to for produce for a good dinner party.”

Not a lot of parking here so plan accordingly. I entered by taking a right on Stacy street off of 1st Avenue coming northbound. You can pull in drive around the telephone pole in front of the warehouse go straight back if you want.”

One of the many spots we visited was Tiny’s Organic, where you buy a cup and then you can taste all flavors and then fill up with your favorite. Price wasnt too bad personally, and the employees were very polite to us during our visit, definitely visiting again on another trip!”
