“These people are nice. I like this store and this neighborhood despite it's shortcoming. Very helpful and friendly staff. Unique food selection (if you have not been to a PCC). High quality goods organic, natural, and locally sourced. It's basically NPR if NPR was a grocery store. It's a CO-OP, SO THEY partner with farms and manufacturer to cut out the middle man and bring you affordable artisan goods, food stuffs and produce.
You know, NPR without the donation drive. Actually. I'm not 100 that they don't have donation drive to sustain themselves, I'm not that informed about their business goings-on and what-not.

“We can neither confirm nor deny that the fertility tea blend contributed to our 1st child's conception. Although we did name the fetus Momo for funzies.
At any rate, this store is truly special. It has spirit behind it. The staff are straight up earth hippies with dreadlocks and piercings and stuff, but super nice and knowledgeable. I like how generous they are with their portions.
They've got a crazy amount of tea and it smells potent, like it came from the misty mountains of Endor. I ain't lying the fertility tea actually tasted good.”
“Excellent customer service. Overall packaging and individual packaging is secure and well thought out. Flavor is not overpowering and very easy to drink unlike other herbal/eastern based drinks. Started drinking it during the quick change of summer to winter weather, body is feeling boosted and has been a great experience!”

In a neighborhood where most large chains have either closed or blamed theft for their choice to treat customers like criminals, Central Co-op is proof that is possible to staff a friendly neighborhood grocery store well, offer quality healthy food, and treat your customers like the neighbors they are.”

“As soon as I walked in this store, the guy and lady's demeanor changed and they became really nervous. However, the guy greeted me. This shop has a good selection on herbs and I plan to be back. I was looking for a herb they didn't have in stock but was told the owner or manager could order it. I settled for the alcohol mixture of the herb. While the guy helping me seemed friendly the interaction felt as if he was scared or nervous with me being there. Hopefully the interaction will be better next time.”
“Went here and although the date was not a success, I got to discover this gem. A small piece of nature lovers alcove; a space so liberating for its approach to wellbeing, grounded on prevention and awareness. Spent the evening here sniffing at the bottles with herbs, seeds, and flowers. Prices differ based on availability.”
“I've lived in the neighborhood 5 years so this has been my weekly store for a good while now. A few things I love:
- way cheaper than pcc and whole foods! Equal or better quality natural products
- no self check out. You might not think twice about this but I think it's a really intentional choice: it tells me they value workers & creating jobs.
- great sprouts brand items: non dairy products cheaper with cleaner ingredients than competitors, wide variety of fresh ground nut butters, etc
- $5 for a freshly made deli sandwich with super fresh ingredients. Is this 2008? That's the last time I had a good lunch so cheap!”

“Special thanks to night supervisor Rafiur and security guard Adrian for the courtesy and care with which they assisted us this past Thursday.
We have been members shopping at several different PCCs for many years, but PCC Columbia City has always been our favorite for its great selection, its wonderful staff, and for the nostalgia going back to when it was a smaller store near Seward Park.
This past Thursday, my daughter visiting from the East Coast and I were in a panic when she misplaced her phone (containing all the usual important data and more) at the store while shopping. Rafiur and Adrian were outstanding in providing their support to help locate the lost phone. The phone was eventually found with added help from a PCC customer. The experience has affirmed a special place in my heart for PCC Columbia City, its staff, and its customers! Thank you!”
“We love PCC Market and do the bulk of our grocery shopping here. The produce and meat selection are excellent and consistently high quality.
A great example of their customer service: last week we were looking for a specific cut of marinated chicken, and one of the staff members overheard us talking about it. She let us know there was a batch marinating in the back and went out of her way to package some up for us.
The staff are always helpful and genuinely friendly. It’s a pleasure shopping here and supporting a local market that truly cares about its customers.”
