A legitimate scam.
Had a miserably long travel day and caved to renting a vehicle when my flight landed so I didn’t have to deal with public transport over my trip. It was a nightmare to get to this location and I was catcalled as soon as I walked on the property by a group of people hanging out on the sidewalk. Once inside I got looked at like I was the most ridiculous person they’d ever seen in their lives (mind you I was already embarrassed from running around trying to get there with my luggage on public transport and walking a ways through a rough area on 48h no sleep as a young woman solo travelling for the 1st time…), only to be told to wait for help in a separate area. I was ignored for a long time while employees did everything except help me until eventually a young lady asked if I was there for a rental (i was literally standing at the rental counter on a separate level and had been but… moving on), when i confirmed i was she informed me that I needed to call a number written on a board on the counter to talk to a gentleman about getting a vehicle. At that point I had gotten online and read a couple reviews and realized I had walked into a bad situation and just ordered an uber to my hotel which costed a pretty penny considering the distance… only to be charged over $30 by Hertz anyways for absolutely nothing. So now i have to dispute a charge with my credit card company as well bc they’re trying to run a scam.

I took out a 3 day rental. While driving the first day, I found that the passenger window wasn't working correctly and the axle was clicking. I returned the car less than 24 hours after the rental began and was assured I would not be charged for any more than the first day. But no. I was charged for all 3 days. What a bunch of scammers.

Big thanks to Joe here at Burien Hertz. I had booked a car at another Hertz that was not available at the set time. One call to the Burien location and Joe was able to confirm that he had cars available. We were on our way less than an hour later. Thank you!

I used points to rent this vehicle. I selected a standard vehicle for a week of free rental. I should’ve been charged $103.78. When I went to pick up my vehicle 2 hours later, I was told they didn’t have any standard cars and I would be upgraded. I was told they would have to charge me extra because my drivers license information needed to be updated on the app. I needed a car and I figured this could be sorted out after the fact with customer service. I had no indication this would be the case when I used my points to rent the vehicle 2 hours prior. They did not provide me with a rental agreement or any indication of damage at the time of rental. I do have a rental record that states the fuel level was at 100%. This was not accurate and I took a picture of the gas gauge with the mileage visible that clearly shows it was just over half a tank. The vehicle was wet when he pulled up so I couldn’t see any exterior damage. It seems whatever car wash he used wasn’t working properly or the vehicle wouldn’t have been that wet. The car was also dirty inside, but after he said he didn’t have any other cars, what could I do but take that vehicle? Again, something I determined was easy to sort out with customer service. I tried several times to get a hold of customer service, but I always ended up on hold for an extended period of time and it was making it difficult to enjoy my vacation that I worked hard for and cost quite a bit of money. When I returned the vehicle, It had over 3/4 of a tank. I also took a picture of that, again including the odometer for proof. The guy working at the counter said that was ok and looked over the car. He gave no indication that anything was wrong. The next day my credit card was charged almost $800! I tried calling corporate several more times but again ended up sitting on hold for almost 90 minutes over 3 attempts. I was forced to call Amex and dispute the charges. At this point, I have cancelled my other rentals with hertz. I will be contacting my corporate office about banning hertz use by employees. This whole thing was dishonest and unacceptable. It caused extra stress and made it difficult to enjoy my time. I’m still currently stressed about this as it’s still in dispute. If this isn’t remedied immediately, I will be seeking damages above what I was charged without authorization.

Trust the other one star reviews for the rentals!! I reserved a car well in advance before my trip and upon arrival they of course did not have the car type I had booked. Staff said there was nothing available but I could wait SIX hours for the chance there MIGHT be the type of car I had reserved become available later in the day. Staff later conveniently discovered a larger (and more expensive) car that I could have. The car was “new” but covered in dust and dirt inside and out. I took the car and was charged extra despite their error. Upon returning the car, EVERY OTHER CUSTOMER waiting in the lobby was having the same sort of issue. Classic bait and switch. Don’t waste your time.

I got rental cars in LA, LV and here in Seattle. I got a pickup truck rental for my dad for one day this time.
The best car rental customer service ever for real!!! Kyle and Thomas went above and beyond during pick up & return; my dad forgot a parking permit in the car, thankfully they found it and we got it back safely.
Highly recommend to get your rental car here! I will definitely be back as needed.

Hertz in Burien, WA was shockingly unprofessional—after a seven‑hour wait with zero acknowledgment or assistance, it’s clear the staff simply doesn’t care. Worst customer service I’ve ever encountered; do yourself a favor and avoid Hertz entirely.

Will leave it here because I at some point somebody gotta get sued for “convenience fees” bullshit.
2 times took toll-bridge: 8$ of toll fees, 20$ of convenience fees.
PS. Actual customer service was pretty good. Friendly and fun. As far as people go. But just not helpful at all.
Everything on corporate side is disaster- Hertz running computer systems from BC era, completely neglects tools and their online reservations systems is a millennium era joke. I couldn’t get receipt printed for 15 minutes, I can get confirmation that I returned a car, I couldn’t even find my reservation online for gods sake. Car itself is cheap but adequate and operational.
I am done, will get back to renting with Avis.

Had a book reservation here and my confirmation went through on Expedia. I showed up on the time I entered for pick up, and they advised me that they had no vehicle available. I’m not sure why a booking reservation went through knowing they had no vehicle available.

Awful. Spent 30 minutes confirming they had an awd vehicle. After confirming the price and reserving, the manager came out and told me it would be an additional fee. He then acted like I had comprehension issues after the bait and switch. Super rude. Trust the reviews. Don't waste your time
