After 40 years with Pemco, they suddenly raised our rates over 35%. They claim to appreciate their long term customers, but this would indicate otherwise. No tickets or accidents. They did have good rates in the past, but perhaps they are downsizing now and trying to get rid of customers. I think they will succeed in losing customers.

My car window was smashed and ignition torn apart in a parking garage, I called pemco to see what was covered or if they help with a tow truck. Despite paying for comprehensive coverage, the agent told me I had no coverage for this and there was nothing they could do to help me. I asked what would happen if my car was stuck in an intersection as opposed to a parking garage and the agent said "I don't know." I spoke with people for almost an hour and got nowhere. No one had any answers for me and it was a huge waste of time talking with them.

I have been a customer for both home and multiple vehicles since 2003. My driving record is spotless, and my credit rating is excellent. I use credit for all my expenses and get cash back from my lender, I pay off my credit card debt every single month without fail. For 2024, Pemco nearly doubled my yearly premium based on their high claim rates with other customers. For this reason, I am shopping for a new insurance carrier.

Perfect record, no tickets for 30 yrs. I had a rock chip that Pemco said was no problem covered. My auto went up by 50% and that rock chip is listed as a claim thus stays on my record for 3 yrs thus I am stuck. No heads up when I called as to the impact of this bad choice on my part.

I'm looking for a new insurance. Twice they have raised my premium. It started at $87. Next year it was raised to $103 and now $141. We have not filed a claim or been in any accidents or got a ticket. Clearly they bait you with a low premium and each year after they raise it. I thought they were better than the rest. Not so. Good-bye!!!

STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY!This company is the worst of the worst. They dictate to customers, not you telling them what you need. We never made a claim for anything but they sure raised our rates. Insured our car okay, but only for six months down from the one year standard we always had. Homeowner's policy, they flat out cancelled our policy, saying we lived in a high wildfire area, we lived here since 2002 no claims, no fires.Look for a more reputable insurance company, this one is pitiful.

Dropped our insurance after more than 30 years. Two no fault accidents. Hit a tree that had fallen on the road in the middle of the night. Deemed unavoidableOur unoccupied vehicle struck by a hit & run driver. We were informed it did not matter if it was not our fault. We are seniors on a fixed income and this is how we were treated. They have no compassion. It's all about the $$$.

Bad first impression. Their insured hit my car and the adjuster calls back 2 days later to leave a voicemail that there is no coverage for that. No explanation. I call back and no explanation on noted on my account and now waiting for a call back.

Please, please, please make sure that you all call around and check rates with the astronomical rate increases that Pemco is having. They are completely out of line. I called around and got a rate lower than what it was BEFORE they started having their rate increases (with my new car) and one that cut my homeowners insurance in HALF. I have been with Pemco for over 15 years. With nothing changing my monthly policy increased by $200 a month since June of this year (two renewal periods), and then when I bought a new car, their online system said my rate would increase by $36 a month, but then I got new paperwork that increased it over $100 a month, so that was almost DOUBLE what my rate was in June of this year. They are just jacking their prices up like crazy and taking advantage of the "everything is going up" to justify it. Please, if your rate is increasing by a lot at Pemco, don't just accept it. Call around, find a new policy, and leave them. Don't let them take advantage of you. If people leave to other companies, they will realize what they are doing is unacceptable. I'm upset at myself that I waited this long.

In response to pemcos responseI understand rate increases but this is ridiculous. You say it’s standard across the industry but that is FALSEMy new carrier as of today is less $ than you before the increase and it’s a slightly better policy. They gave me this offer a few months ago but I opted to stay with you even though it was a little more $ per month because I was a loyal customer and would rather keep my business local but I guess that was a mistake on my part because you really don’t care about your long term customers. If you look me up you can see that I have actually had some sort of policy with you for 40 years but as of today I am with a new companyI was with pemco for over 20 years. I can’t till you how accident claims go because I have never had to file one.I received a letter saying my rates were increasing. This is not a normal increase but it basically doubled in price, up almost $200 a month for just auto and $50 a month for home owners. The reason given was because of claims. I called and asked how many claims I filed in the last 20+ years causing my rates to double, of course she said I had zero claims. So my rates double because other people file claims??? Today I switch to a new insurance carrier, the policy is actually better, I have an actual agent and is less than I was paying before the increase. Thank you pemco for sticking it to a long term customer. I hope people leave you in droves!!!!

Surprise! Pemco will only pay for used parts on my car repair! The agent even said, "Most people don't know this." And then said, "Because they don't get in accidents."

Loyal customer since 2014 with my auto coverage on 3 vehicles. No history of accidents until I was struck by an uninsured motorist last spring. I didn't file a claim but reported to an agent anyway for consultation and to cover my bases. Like I said, it was just a scratch - so I settled without a claim, never took a cent from them.Anyway, their guidelines changed after my "collision" and that coupled with 1 speeding infraction from '21 and I was dumped with just a note in the mail. I had no reason to believe I needed to be concerned, but I just found out I lost my coverage 1 week after it expired. So I've been driving unknowingly without insurance for a week and when I found out this morning I called to talk with an agent they said all is final, they will do nothing.I am a lifelong Washingtonian and prefer to support local businesses but this has been an absolutely unacceptable experience, and I will be following up with the WA Insurance Commissioner consumer protection about it.BUYER BEWARE!Please do not support a company that wont support you, that's why we pay $$$ for the service

I would give them a 0. Worst insurance company ever. Had them for 6 years. I have never heard of an insurance company not telling you that there not renewing insurance. But still take a payment. I called the lady and she was very rude. Stay away from this company.

Pemco is just like all the other garbage insurance companies- they will gladly take your money and constantly increase your rates but when you need to use them, they find every way not to help you. After being a loyal customer for 20+ years and having to file a claim, I’m severely disappointed and will be taking my business elsewhere. Our agent was horrible- we can never get her on the phone, is rude, then says it’s ok to remove part of the mold from the affected area but not all of the mold- in what world is that acceptable?

She tried calling and spoke to your customer service in which they said they could provide no further information beyond the letter she received. Only directing her to the underwriting individual. She's already reached out to underwriting for further information with no response yet. You're missing the point. PEMCO use to put more effort in customer relationships, not this. I'm a current PEMCO shareholder and find this disturbing. What PEMCO is doing is shifting the conversation. My statement is about the process that PEMCO now employs.
