The Seattle Bouldering Project Upper Walls is a small, pared-down bouldering haven located a short walk from the main Fremont space. While it lacks the additional workout areas and boards found at other SBP gyms, this facility offers a focused climbing experience with a cozy lounge for relaxation and conversation. The layout features seating in the center of the room, making it a great spot for resting between climbs. Although it tends to be less crowded than the Poplar or Fremont locations, the Upper Walls facility still provides a good variety of excellent, challenging problems. Customers praise the clean facilities, reasonable prices, and overall great setting, though some wish for more imaginative roof problems. Despite past pandemic-related restrictions, such as required reservations and temperature checks, the Upper Walls continues to be a valuable addition to the SBP network, offering an awesome bouldering experience in the neighborhood.
