I love Urban Animal! They've always taken great care of us, and every staff member I've met treats my dog like their own. Dr. Li was especially super sweet with my dog.

I do want to add an update... I was contacted by Urban Animal. " Thank you so much for contacting me and checking in on how I was feeling about the whole situation ". This is a safe and caring place to take your fur babies to. I do understand that people have bad days but they need to be compassionate when someone is seeking care for their fur babies. We too have jobs and other obligations. Seeking care for your fur babies is very hard to do as well as taking time off of work. This is a very scary thing to do. I am satisfied with the level of care my fur baby receives. I was just disappointed in how I was treated on this particular day. I do recommend Urban Animal by Appointment.I am very disappointed. I scheduled my fur baby an appointment for this Friday at 5:30. I am traveling from Bremerton so I have to take the ferry into town. I received a call this morning and was quick to return the call. At that time I thought that everything was taken care of the misunderstanding about why my fur baby needed to be seen was cleared up. At 4:00 p.m. I receive a call telling me that it was my fault for not properly reading my instructions. When I called I confirmed stated the reason why my fur baby was being seen. I am so disappointed and the way that I was spoke to taking a day off of work having to purchase a fairy ticket. Very disappointed. From the call this morning it seemed as if the mail tech didn't want to see my fur baby from the beginning and when I called and restated why he needed to see a tech and not a doctor. The guy on the phone confirmed that it was okay to bring my dog in and for the tech to call and be so disrespectful on the phone is just mind-blowing to me....

This is a review of the pricing model for the downtown location. The vets, vet techs, and staff at Urban Animal are all fantastic and I would give them 5 stars alone. The downtown location has significantly increased its prices since changing to an appt only model. I was not aware of this before bringing my pet in. There is a small blurb about higher downtown prices on one page of the website, but there is no mention of it when booking an appt.It cost $500 for an annual appt for my dog. For reference, I took him to the Cap Hill location last year and it cost half that. Nail trims at the downtown location are $50. They are $30 at the White Center location.I would have appreciated a heads up on the price increase at the time of booking. Customers deserve full transparency, other than just a page on the site they may miss. I’m a longtime Urban Animal customer, so I was not familiar with the changed price structure.

If ZERO STARS were an option !!! Do NOT RECOMMEND !!! TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS ANIMALS SOMEWHERE ELSE ANYWHERE ELSE !!!I came to this clinic in May/June 2023 after speaking with the staff regarding specific requirements to move my cat to Hawaii. They were familiar with the requirements of HDOA and assured me they would guide me through the process. After the first FAVN test was damaged by the time it reached the lab, which delayed my move by one month and cost me an additional $3k to stay, a second blood draw was needed. Three attempts were made to draw blood from my cat, she was traumatized and had bandages on three legs. After three weeks I called the vet to inquire about the test results as my move date was approaching, the staff stated the results were emailed to me weeks ago. NO PHONE CALL regarding receipt of the second blood draw even though I was assured I would be called immediately upon the vet receiving the results and I would be guided through the process since the mishap with the initial test delayed my move. This AGAIN delayed my move another 6 weeks thus costing me another $5k to accommodate another vet mishap. I then received a call from the person who took over the "special processing" of animals traveling internationally. She stated the email was sent so she did her job and it was up to me to follow-up with Hawaii to finish the process as she wasn't completely familiar with the guidelines and had only taken over in May. She also stated that since she did not start the process with me that she "assumed" I knew what I was doing, regardless of the fact that she is the same person that said she'd guide me through the process back in September after the first FAVN test. RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL !!!As I was finally able to take my cat to Hawaii I still needed a health cert to fly. RELUCTANTLY I went back to this clinic since they had my cat's medical history and paid $200 for the health cert alone. RIDICULOUS !!! After the failures of the staff in charge of the special processing they were heartless and cold to me and my cat when I took my cat in for her exam. Even in a moment of desperation I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS VET CLINIC TO ANYONE !!!ALSO.... After reading the terrible reviews I especially love how Urban Animal does NOT take accountability for any of their mistakes and mishaps; putting people's precious animals at risk for death AND costing those same people thousands of dollars to seek other treatment due to Urban Animals NEGLIGENCE!!! There is always an "excuse" as to why things went terribly wrong but never the fault of the staff. TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE MISTAKES MADE BY YOUR STAFF and take EXTREME measures to IMPROVE THEIR ATTITUDES AND SERVICE OR GET OUT OF THE VET BUSINESS !!! It takes compassion and care to be in the HEALTHcare industry especially when it comes to animal health, BOTH of which this business lacks. SAD.

This is a revolving door of veterinarians in a fancy high rise- they had the gall to ask me to pay 15% MORE on top of my bill- the best part? They conned me into an ex ray for my dog instead of treating her first- and then said they couldn't read the x-ray and then charged me or wouldn't give my dog back to me. I fought them on American Express and got my money back and found an excellent veterinarian who actually cares and actually took the time to sit with me with her tech and discuss many options and gave me a list to follow that fixed my dog's problem- I had been going to Urban for 3 years with my dog and they are clueless and don't really care- the stupid veterinarian actually told me she couldn't read the x-ray on my 4 pound dog- she said, well- we can't tell if there's something in her colon or if it's poo. They wanted to sent the x-ray of a tiny piece of poo to a specialist for $1,200.00 MORE on top of my $500 bill.Scammers in fancy schmancy high rises. These are conglomerates owned by people interested in cash. $$$ Don't trust them ever. My opinion.

My wife and I had a great first experience today with our cat Roman. They were very friendly and took great care of our boy. We recently moved into the area and had to switch vets and we are very happy with urban animal. We had concerns about asthma in our fur baby but the dr reassured as and helped us save some money. They got us his vaccinations he needed and ensured us he was healthy. We will be back again. Thank you guys very much. Our cat means literally everything to us!!

Our pup was brought here by daycare as an emergency when he received a bite wound from a dog there. This clinic accepted walk in while other vets in the area were full. Urban animal’s vet closed my pup’s bite wound with one staple and we were sent home with an antibiotic & doggie ibuprofen. However, the wound then had become infected badly 4 days later while my pup was under strict supervision wearing a cone (I took time off to watch him). We’re told by the emergency care vet that the antibiotic prescribed by Urban Animal was ineffective in treating the bite wound and the wound should have never been stapled. Two other vets we saw before he went into surgery also stated that his wound was infected badly and needed surgery right away and be put on the right antibiotic. Those vets couldn’t perform the surgery same day so we went to an emergency vet. Our pup ended up needing to be sedated for an emergency surgery to cut away dead tissues that had spread into the subcutaneous layers, flush the abscess and put stitches in 3 layers of tissues to close the wound so he can heal. I can’t even imagine what could have happened if we didn’t take him in to see someone on a Sunday when the wound started to smell and look very bad!! A quarter size bite became a 4 inch long wound due to all the necrotic tissues cut away. The erroneous treatment & antibiotic for a bite wound which I assume all veterinarians should be well trained to treat caused such medical complications for our young pup and undue emotional stress!***urban animal reached out to us after we complained about their wrongful course of treatment leading down to our pup’s need for an emergency surgery. The clinic manager offered to refund $30 worth of the wrong antibiotic that was prescribed when we ended up with a bill of thousands of dollars for emergency surgery caused by their wrongful treatment. It’s unbelievably upsetting given the whole circumstance and I sincerely hope no one has to go through what we went through with our pup!

Just found out the appointment based service is more expensive than walk-in service.I don't know why I have to figure it myself, no one ever told me about it.I have been there for three years and really like the service, so give a 3-star here. However, I do not understand why appointment based should be much more expensive. The exactly service is 120 at Capital hill(Walk-in), but 200 at downtown. They told me because I save the time, but isn't that the reason for appointment for arrange my time earlier? If it is unplanned, or urgent, Walk-in means you have to wait for hours and that make sense. Or If I pay more, you let me skip the line, I am OK with that either. But it is an appointment, I still need wait for a week, I just never see a place charge more for an early appointment.

when my cat was healthy this place was great but as soon as something went wrong with his kidneys they brought in a contracted ultrasound guy who said 'its fine theres nothing you can do about it its just regular old age' and then when he was puking blood i brought him back, and a different person SCOLDED me for not doing anything about his kidneys when THEIR CONTRACTOR and nurse told me not to. you killed my cat
