“I love staying at old hotels. So much character if it’s been kept up and the Shelburne has been lovingly preserved by the owners of the Adrift. I would actually call the Shelburne more of an Inn than a hotel and I mean that in the best way. It feels so much more quaint than a hotel. It’s the perfect place for a single or couple to enjoy the Longbeach area. The restaurant and pub is excellent with delicious food and cocktails and the garden area is wonderful to hang out on a warm summer night. We had room 15 which is a King with Balcony. We really appreciate that we could full open the balcony door for cool air as we happen to be there on one of the infrequently hot few days just after this past Labor Day (the room also had a fan) . The balcony has a table and chair and over looks the garden. We even got some Thai take out and had a lovely alfresco dinner one night of our stay. One of the bonus of staying at Shelburne is since it’s part of the Adrift Hospitality group you can use the full facilities of the Adrift Hotel. This includes the heated pool (felt so good) the barrel Finish saunas, and beach cruisers located a short drive away. The front desk and restaurant staff are lovely. We will definitely be back.
Just a note: Although not specified I would recommend this Hotel for anyone looking for Childfree accommodations.

“The new Zealand chick on the way in had a very inviting accent, the only reason I stopped was because she was very jolly, I usually keep walking. Be sure to keep that chick around, shrimp on the barbie.”

“Our trips to Long Beach, which we take a few times a year, are always enjoyable, but this particular visit was truly exceptional. We had the pleasure of staying at Akari Bungalows, a place we had admired for quite some time, and it proved to be an absolute delight! It is a wonderful establishment that offers everything one could desire, including a cozy and warm, homelike atmosphere. Our doggie also thoroughly enjoyed their stay. “We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Boardwalk Cottages! The location couldn't be better—close to the beach, the boardwalk, shops, and restaurants, yet still peaceful and quiet. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We loved all the little touches that made our stay extra special. We can't wait to come back and will definitely recommend Boardwalk Cottages to anyone visiting Long Beach!”

“Had a wonderful stay during a last minute trip for the 4th of July!! Staff was very kind & welcoming. Helpful & accommodating! The location is wonderful-right over the dunes to the ocean!! Breakfast is good also. Dark Harbor restaurant & bar was so neat as well! Room was quite big(double queen). We had a ground floor room with a small patio.”

Sad that they have limited the breakfast selections but everywhere I guess is going cheap. Abmber the manager is very helpful with any needs and Danny was super friendly at check in”

“This is a wonderful place to stay! The rooms are incredibly clean. The management and workers were kind and fixed anything very quickly. We are within walking distance of two grocery stores and great places to eat breakfast. The ocean is also within walking distance. Enjoy!!!”

“I reviewed this establishment about a month ago. Our experience was not good at all…but we had to stay there again…our room was much better…there were still some issues, but we got a little better insight to what was happening. I guess they have had issues with getting and keeping good housekeepers. People want the pay but don’t want to do the work. Which is sad…this place isn’t top tier but for the price and a little patience it’s really not that bad. They allowed us to have a later checkout and didn’t charge us extra, the guy was nice and helpful…we needed a downstairs room and they didn’t have any available so they gave us a bigger room for the same price…so as long as you aren’t looking for Hilton comfort it’s actually not a bad place to stay at.”
