“This is our go to place in Shelton for bulk landscaping materials like topsoil, compost, and bark, though mostly we buy bark which comes in several different sizes depending on the use. Fortunately, I have a small utility trailer I can load 3 cubic yards of material in because it's about 20 miles to our house. Last year we made at least 6 trips to Brady's and they were always friendly and courteous, even during the stress of Covid.But if you don't have a utility trailer they also deliver.Oh, I almost forgot, they also accept yard waste like tree trimming slash and other woody material. But there is a small disposal charge. We usually drop off a load of tree limbs and pick up a load of bark to make the entire trip worthwhile.”

“I actually really enjpy the garden center at Walmart because they have this section where you can buy plants for super cheap that are lime wilted and dying. They are the ones that didn't get watered. They are amazing prices and you feel like you did a good deed when you bring them back to life. I have had a few die on me which is heartbreaking but the majority come back better than ever. It is like adopting a dog. You feel better when you have done something to better it's life. You saved it. And it makes you feel good inside. And yes, I bet you could bring back the ones that died for a refund but that just seems like a huge waste of time. Not worth it for me. I think I would be embarrassed but I know a lot of people would do it so go be you. Congrats. They don't have the biggest variety but I can usually find what I want to make things work. I still spent a huge amount there on orphaned plants. Too much.”
