“I was born in Seattle and this church has been here my entire life. My parents married here, I was baptized here and we had my mother’s funeral here. I’m an omnist but it’s nice to know there’s still family oriented churches in the heart of capitol Hill. Lots of history. I hope this church remains in this location for another 50 years.”
“Bruce Lee Fact: Bruce Lee and Linda Emery got married here, on August 17th, 1964. Keep in mind, this was when anti-miscegenation laws were in effect in the US, so this is church has a history of being very progressive. From the other reviews I've read of this place, they seem to be a very active church that has a message and fights for what they believe in. Honestly, I can respect that! I hope they continue doing good for the community.”

“This has been a wonderful community to be a part of for the past nearly five years. Kind, compassionate, loving and selfless leaders and members. The work they are doing in the seattle community for neighbors of all walks of life is tremendous. Grateful for the impact they are having in the lives of so many, by following the teachings of Jesus and inspiring us to do the same.”
“Lovely venue for musical performance. I came here to see an artist perform (unrelated to church-y activities). The acoustics were good, the atmosphere of the room was great, and the overall vibe was surprisingly chill for a church.Note: a little stuffy in the summer, but it's an older church, so I think that's to be expected.”
“I don't attend this church, but I live next door and share a fence with them. I hear the music on several different days of the week. I love it. It brings me to a serene frame of mind. The church is very responsible to it's neighborhood as well. They allow us to have meetings there, if needed. They keep their parking lot clean. When asked, they offered their parking lot to allow a friend of mine to park there. They are proactive neighbors, as evidenced by their responsibility in removing some very tall trees, subject to falling during windstorms. They have a friendly following. I've had nothing but positive interaction with them throughout the years that I've lived here. I'm glad I share these beautiful people as my neighbors. Thank you”

“There’s a new pastor, who’s just as good. Amazingly real church. Getting involved here has been life-changing for me, a life-long church-attending philosophical christian. Leaning on my own understanding, I knew Jesus and His gospel, and I tried to apply it my own way, without taking enough time to change my heart effectively/wholeheartedly. Now later in life am I learning at CHCC how essential it is to have a joyful, meaningful relationship and to be an effective follower of Christ. The ACBC counseling training is phenomenal, and members should attend that if they are on the waitlist for counseling or are pursuing discipleship.
I think some negative reviews from 3+ years ago are not about a service, but for an off-hours event. 20 minutes before and after service start times, a ton of people direct traffic/parking, greet and take care of needs including families with kids. Newcomers may need help with the child check-in system, and helpers are there. Also, some kool-aid drinking activists were badmouthing the church’s covid policies. Religious and other church-haters chased me back to Christ, and I am so glad God used that for good.”
