Unacceptable Experience at DSW – Manager Should Be Held Accountable
Buckle up, because this was one of the most frustrating shopping experiences I’ve ever had.
I went into DSW to buy two pairs of shoes for my son. When I went to pay, the debit card reader clearly showed “approved” — and my bank showed the charge pending. Despite this, the cashier told me their register screen froze and refused to let me leave with the shoes. I even showed her my banking app as proof of payment.
Instead of helping resolve the issue, the manager was rude, dismissive, and accused me of lying. She called their IT support and kept us waiting while my kids were getting scared and overwhelmed. After a long delay, the receipt finally printed — proving I had paid — yet the staff still treated me like a criminal.
Let me be clear: I paid for my items, followed all the rules, and was still treated with hostility and disrespect. The issue was with their faulty POS system, not me.
That manager's behavior was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. She needs to be held accountable — and honestly, fired — for how poorly she handled the situation. Get a new POS & a new manager.

I am very impressed with the store, I honestly thought it was for people with diabetes.Or feet problems. They have shoes for every occasion, And they.
Are very friendly and helpful.

There was a good selection/variety of shoes displayed well in a spacious store. Nobody asked if I needed assistance after being there for 20 minutes, but I was okay with that as I wasn't in a rush. Not sure about price comparison to other stores or online offerings.

I went to pick up an online order and Google said they close at 9pm. They do not. They actually close at 8pm on weekdays. I tried to suggest new hours but when I went to change it to 8pm it was already set at 8??but the main page says 9. This obviously has nothing to do with DSW and isn't their fault. Still annoying as hell.

DSW does not stand behind the products they sell. Purchased a pair of Hey Dudes, wore them a few times, always indoors and they are falling apart. Manager on duty said they don't return wore shoes. Told me to contact manufacturer.I will not ever go back......

It was my first time visiting this store. The staff were very helpful. There is a large selection of all different brands of shoes. Men's women's and children's. It's a fairly limited selection of girls' dress shoes, which is why I went in. But I was able to find something suitable. I will definitely check this place out when shoe shopping again.

I only go into this store if I absolutely have to but have ordered online from DSW and it's always a disaster. I've had orders "lost" in transit that require reordering from their customer service team and their shipping times are abysmal. Don't ever order online thinking you'll get your purchase in a timely manner. Save yourself the hassle and shop for shoes elsewhere!

The staff was very rude. As the place was busy and we are trying on shoes they keep passing by making us move out of their way. Not one time did staff ask if we needed help or if they could assist with anything. We ended up leaving as well as a couple of other people because we could even look with how many times they needed through
