Went into America's best in tacoma. Had the eye exam that consisted in part of an online exam by a eye doctor in another office. The appointment didn't seem as thorough as in most office and very rushed. Then I picked out frames was measured all. The person help told me I owed 74.00 was my portion. I explained that didn't get paid until Friday this was Tuesday. So just three afterward. The gal just call back and pay over the phone and when I came in pick the glass I could sign what ever I needed to sign. I called back Friday morning and they tell that basically that I'm lying about what the lady that they are not aloud to do that Yada Yada Yada. And they even have the paperwork or my eye glass measurements or anything. Totally a bad experience office manager came on the and was rude short and very curt with and would do nothing rectify the situation totally dissatisfied with the experience and will never go to them again and recommend you don't either

I have been a glasses wearer since the 1990s and have visited various eye care providers over the years. Unfortunately, my recent experience at America's Best Contacts in Tacoma has been nothing short of a nightmare.During my eye exam, I expressed concerns about the accuracy of the prescription provided, as I was having difficulty seeing clearly. Instead of addressing my concerns, I was dismissed, with one staff member even making an inappropriate comment about pregnancy affecting eyesight.Fast forward to a year later when I visited another America's Best Contacts in New York. To my shock, the optometrist there discovered that the prescription I received in Tacoma was not only inaccurate but significantly weaker than what I needed. The cylinder and axis numbers were way off, making both my glasses and contacts the wrong size.The optometrist's jaw dropped, and he audibly questioned why such an incorrect prescription was ever given. I had unknowingly spent the past year struggling with blurred vision, purchasing the wrong eyeglasses (several since I buy fun frames online), and committing to a year's supply of contacts that were completely useless.I reached out to the Tacoma location to address the issue, hoping for a resolution. Unfortunately, my attempts were met with indifference and a lack of willingness to rectify the situation. It's disheartening to see such a disregard for the well-being of patients.I strongly advise anyone considering America's Best Contacts in Tacoma to think twice. The doctors there seem more interested in rushing through appointments than providing quality care. My experience has been a lesson in the importance of thorough and accurate prescriptions, and this establishment failed miserably in that regard.In conclusion, beware of the potential consequences of seeking eye care at America's Best Contacts in Tacoma. I hope my review serves as a cautionary tale for those who value their vision and expect a higher standard of care.-UPDATES- 12/11While you might see that Americas Best contacted me to let me know they will assist me with this concern, I received an email from them stating that they will not take responsibility and have not offered any resolution.As stated before, please keep yourself safe should you choose to work with Americas Best Contacts.-UPDATED 12/20 -Sent several emails and they will not take ownership and refund the price of the contacts or the glasses that they wrongly prescribed me leaving me blind for a year.

3 stars for the great deals they have! However, make sure they DO NOT bill your insurance if you are doing any of their specials. I did the $80 eye exam + 2 pairs of eyeglasses deal. However, later I realized that they had billed my insurance too for just an exam — around $60! They should not have done that since the exam was already included in the $80 deal I mentioned above. Seems a bit shady. I called to let them know and the woman I spoke to didn’t even apologize. Just make sure you are paying attention, ask questions and definitely get your receipt

I had a great experience. I made my appointment online. I go a phone call two emails and like 3 text reminders. Did the paperwork before hand. Showed up early just in case I needed to do the paperwork. Got back immediately. My appointment was at 1030am I was walking out of there by like 1045am only because I showed up early and completed everything before hand. Everyone was nice answered all my questions. I'm bringing my kid in this weekend.

I brought 2 pairs of glasses back to America's best because I needed to adjust the tint on them. The process only took a few minutes. They took care of me very quickly and without any issues. Very friendly and professional staff ??????

Well, I see Kim. She's always very friendly, and helps calm me when I'm anxious. The added bonus, is that she's an exceptional optometrist as well. Very happy with her service. Been going to see her for a few years now. Always gets my prescription right. Everytime.

Me and my wife ordered reading glasses on September 26, 2023.My wife got hers after one week, I waited two weeks i called to see why mine is not in and today they texted to my wife not to me that my glass is ready so I went to pickup and took about half hour to find my glass and one side glass is missing ,now they told me it would take two more weeks to get my glass. Where is quality inspector? 10/16/23

I had a great experience with your office. Everyone was very professional, very helpful and I was done over lunchtime. The new contacts I have are amazing and I can’t wait to try my new glasses when they arrive. I would easily give you five stars! Thank you very much!

Ordered glasses from America's Best and after a two-week wait, received them with lenses that didn't fit properly, risking potential breakage.When I approached the store about the issue, they informed me of another two-week wait for a fix, offering no apology or compensation for the oversight.Disappointed with the lack of professionalism and service quality. I'll be considering other places for my eyewear in the future.

I purchased 2 pairs of glasses less than 6 months ago and both pairs broke randomly. Tonight I came in thinking my warranty or VSP would cover it. Nope, VSP doesn't cover frame only. My warranty wasn't in the system. I wanted to cry because I literally can't see without glasses or contacts. It's dark out and I could already imagine crashing. Luckily for me, Aubree who was helping me said "We are not going to have you leave not being able to see. That's not what we do here." Needless to say, she worked tirelessly to fix things and I'M ABLE TO SEE?

This place is totally unprofessional and disorganized. Went for our sons first eye exam cause we've used them in the past for ourselves. Never been super impressed but nothing has ever made me not want to go back until now. My son ended up needing glasses so we purchased those at the exam - we had scheduled a contact lens exam as well knowing he wouldn’t want to wear glasses so they said they’d get a trial pair ordered. About two weeks go by and his glasses show up so we go pick them up. They never called or told us our trial was ready at that time. So I called about a week later asking about it and they said it had been there since before the glasses. I asked if i could just have the prescription and they said no t over the phone due to HIPPA but i could come get it. I asked specifically if we can just come pick thee trial up and they said yes so we get all the way in there and they say since it’s the first time he’s had contacts that they won’t give them to us and we have to come back for a “class”. I asked for the prescription then and they would not release that either. So another week later we’re back for the class and the gal wasn’t very encouraging or able to teach him how to get them in. I asked if I can help him and she said that was fine and we got it in. Then he couldn’t get it out and wanted me to try but after one attempt another lady came over and said I was not allowed to help and that we had to wait for a doctor. After another 30 min wait there was still no doctor available and the first gal asked if he wanted to try again. He did and got it out however they STILL won’t release his trial or the prescription. So frustrating…. Will never go back to Americas Best.

Friendly staff. Treated with respect and kindness. I wish I could remember everyone’s names to give them credit. Aubree completed the sale and she was great. I drive 45 minutes to this location because of the experience I always have.

When you walk in, I recommend you just stand near the counter for a couple of minutes because I guarantee you you will hear a manager speaking with an angry customer either over the phone or in person in the store it happen both times I visited the store and it should’ve made me a little bit wary, but somehow because of the “ good deals” I still went ahead and bought glasses from here which was the worst experience unfortunately, a lot of the eyewear places will lie to you and you have to be very very very careful about what exactly it is that you’re actually getting because they will tell you you are purchasing stuff that is not accurate. I was told I was purchasing a protection plan for scratch free lenses and my glasses. Unfortunately, my glasses ended up breaking because they truly never fit my face and I had to go in to get it fixed when I went into the store they told me that I didn’t have a warranty which is crazy because I had even called before I went into the store, a couple of days before and spoke to a manager and before I did, the girl had checked my stuff and told me I had the warranty and I remember buying it as well but when I went into the store they try to charge me an extra $25 to be able to fix my glasses, when I know I was told when I was told because I had just had a pair of glasses break prior to purchasing these glasses, which is why I was adamant about making sure that if something happened to them, I would be able to get them replaced if you are going to have to buy glasses from here because you’re stuck in a bind I recommend once again fully read your receipt fully read the agreement and make sure that you’re actually getting what you think you’re purchasing. Also, if this review doesn’t convince you read the reviews if you noticed most of the good ones are from people who just got their glasses and everything usually works great in the first couple of days but see what happens after you’ve had them for about a week or a month.

Staff was nice enough, the exam seemed really rushed and their glasses are really junk.Yes, they have low prices, but the frames are really poorly made. To make matters worse their lenses are extremely easy to scratch. I've had my glasses and using the same cleaning cloths I used for years with my previous glasses there is extensive scratching on my lenses.
