Amazing service in the Tacoma/Stadium district. 10/10 recommend. These guys are hands down the kindest people in the auto industry. Every time I've had service done with them they are so genuinely friendly and the pricing has always been fair to cheaper than quoted by others. Recently they took a look at what was dragging under my car for free, and when it turned out to be just a bolt that needed to be added they did it for free! I was quoted $45 dollars elsewhere just to take a look. I understand charging for your expertise and respect that, but I appreciate how they're such givers and I would love to continue giving them my business in turn as long as they'll have me.

I took our 2009 Honda Pilot to another local shop because our AC wasn't working, I wasn't sure if it was just a freon recharge or a bigger issue. This other shop told me it was bigger issue and quoted me for a whole new AC compressor for a total of $2,000.
That didn't seem right and they didn't give really any context of how they came to this conclusion. So I took it to Ball Auto for my first time and the experience could not have been more night and day.
Ball Auto got my car in right away, they explained the diagnostic tests they ran to try and figure out the problem, and they found it was just a busted AC relay for $250!
Thanks Ball Auto for saving me $1,750 + whatever else it would have costed when the other shop realized the relay was still broken!
I'll be taking our family car here every time from now on.

Ball Auto has been taking care of my 4runner for the last year. They have been extremely dependable and friendly and you can’t beat their prices! I just got the valve cover gaskets replaced and will do my future maintenance there.

Used them for service twice now. Don't let the charmingly antique storefront fool you, these guys are absolutely top notch. Fast, friendly, honest, knowledgeable, and fairly priced. Can’t beat an honest, family run mechanic shop. This place has always treated me right. They’ve always worked hard to diagnose any car issue and fix it without breaking the bank. They took care of my 2001 Subaru Forrester until I had to sell it since not every member of my family could drive the car (stick shift). Now my 2009 car is starting to have a few issues. I took it in the other day and asked for a knocking sound in the steering column to be fixed. I have done research independently on what the issue could be and how much it would cost to fix. Ball Auto came back with the exact same diagnosis and a better estimate than my research indicated. When I asked if there was any other maintenance my car needed, they said, “It looks good. Have a happy holiday.” I always appreciate knowing they’re not trying to charge me for services I don’t need.
