Staff is awesome! Fast, friendly and knowledgeable! Great prices and lotsa sales, especially on clothing and athletic gear. They even have room air-conditioners on sale for 249 if I remember right! I choose Big 5 over Dick's 6 days a week and 2 times on sunday!!

I only go to this place when I need so.e shoes, morr and more fre+gently when I DO decide any.ire to go to one of these to get shoes they dont even HAVE a size I need.
I went in on a Monday afternoon and I pretty quickly asked the employee standing nearby IF she could look to SEE if they had this particular shoe in my size #. She came back pretty quickly and let me now they did NOT have that shoe in my size. I then ASKED mostly poi t bland WHAT shoes woukd they have in a mens shie thst ilIS my size they may carry. ( instead of me having to pick 50 different t shoes like I'm playing GOfish or aomething)
Her REPLY was to tell me that woukd depend on the shie because my shoe size is actually borderline expensive between youth and adults.BUT then continued to stand by the doorway waiting for others thwt may need shoes pulled rom back. I most emediately was D.O.N.E with this store and we went down the shopping center to skechers where I found a nice pair of shoes.
I'm DONE shopping at Big 5 anymore. It has been a waste of my time the last several times I've been in one, so they loose business.

The web site says they open at 9am. The door says they open at 9am and the people inside told me to read the door. I replied and said yea it says opens at 9am. And then they shake there head and shoe me away with there hands. I called and they said because the workers are scheduled at 9am so they can not open until 930am. I was not rude at all and felt like they were very rude and disrespectful in person and on the phone

I finally got some black boots and some housesocks to wear that weren't made in China.

Horrible store with horrible management. They waste people’s time, advertised a product would be in stock and did not inform me you could reserve through phone, instead I showed up early and was denied product. They cater to scalpers and have no actual reservation system other than phone calls which can be faked. Shop elsewhere where they value actual customers, foot traffic and repeat customers mean nothing here

The shoe selection wasn't great, but the employees were very friendly and helpful. My kids always take forever to find what we need and the employees were patient and understanding. It was a special one-day sale and the employees that helped us didn't try to steer us away from the sales.

It's says wet suits in stock. They were in stock. Their websites are in stock they're in stock in the back and the box still so don't bother wasting your time going in like I did because one of the 4 many employees standing around didn't want to go in the back to try to find me a wet suit that I can purchase.

The last one they had and got a 10 percent off can't wait to try it out. The best part is the person that helped me bring it home. We didn't have to put it together. It was not in a box. It was the last one they had on the floor. Brought it home in an SUV

Store is nice and clean but never seems to have my size in shoes. The shoe salesman doesn't seem to enjoy his job. Acts like you're bothering him to fetch a pair of shoes to try on.

Once again, Big 5 had 4 different size 14 wide running shoes for my son to try on, cute colors and one fit!. REI no longer carries his size in store, Nordstrom Rack had no wides. Also, really nice customer service and fair prices. So often Big 5 meets my car camping/shoe needs.

The cashier did help me but AFTER I went to leave turned around went back in was frustrated that there was a lack of service until AFTER I spoke up and asked to be helped. They didn't seem to want to put extra effort into helping, it's not a bad place but I feel that the staff could do better. I'll go back of course becuz it's a good place to go they just need to have more encouragement from their manager I think.
