The absolute dirtiest gym I have ever been to. Just walking in, the what should be smoothie bar that has a table in front is COVERED in dust. The machines are grimy. The treads are gross and mostly broken. The weights are not even the correct color they’re so dirty. The only plus side is their turf workout area but even that needs some upgrades.

So many things are "Scheduled for Service" Half of the treadmills haven't worked in months.

Broken equipment, sauna down 2 months, pool's filthy, music so loud can't have a conversation, and Mgr is very dishonest. Other than that a good but shrinking clientele.

I visited Tacoma for a week over the Christmas holidays in 2023. I knew they normally dealt in memberships, but I asked the staff if I could pay for a week or perhaps a few days while I was in town. They helped me out with a free temporary pass for the whole week!I'd never been to a LA Fitness centre before, but I liked it. Good variety and quantity of equipment, no need to wait around for someone to finish their reps, and everything was clean and in good repair. They also organize their equipment by activity and muscle groups. Not to mention their pool, squash courts, and open training areas. All in all, I would definitely get a membership if I lived nearby.

Gym has gone downhill. More than half the treadmills broken, squat racks are always full and for some reason they replaced a squat rack with a Smith machine?? I have been a member for years and am thinking of looking somewhere else.Staffs dismissal of their customers concerns about predators going here should also be taken seriously and it's disappointing that my concerns were ignored.

Every time Michael Roman is at the front desk when I check into this gym I feel very welcomed. He is friendly, caring to the gyms customers, and always helpful. His positive energy always gives me a positive start to my work outs.

Staff members are clearly not trained, went in to cancel my membership due to moving and they gave me the option to pause my account which I was all for. I confirmed I wouldn’t be charged and that very month I was charged $11 which I was alright with, just assumed it was my account being paused and that was my new monthly fee. However I was also charged the annual fee which of course I wasn’t told that would happen, I was under the impression pausing my account would lead to zero charges.

On any given day, half the cardio machines aren't working, especially treadmills, and the bathrooms smell like pee. I only went there for the sauna, which is also out of order regularly. I will say in their defense that people toss water on it all the time, not realizing it's electric or just being too stupid to care. If the Y wasn't trying to charge me double I'd probably go there. Anyone know where else there is a place with a sauna?

I love the staff who work at the gym. The gym is generally clean and in decent working order, however, there are a few issues that many of us have concerns over:1) The sauna in the men's room is often broken and not working. When asked when it will get fixed, the front desk has relayed that a third party is in charge of fixing it. Can we not get a local sauna company to expedite this? We pay for a membership that INCLUDES use of the sauna.2) The girls sauna will not rise above 160; it should be at 180 as a baseline. Why hasn't this been fixed after multiple girls have complained?3) There are only 2 squat racks. There is often a line of people waiting to squat, which is disruptive to planning your work out. Why are there 5 smith machines and only 2 squat racks?Due to these issues, many of us have considered going to 24-hour fitness. Are you able to fix the saunas? Beef up the squat rack ratio? Help a sister out, yo.Again, the team is lovely and kind. Very friendly.

I came here to use a one day pass I got from the Web. The manager would not let me use it. She said I had to pay twenty dollars or so and the do not accept the passes. This is false advertising. She was a white woman maybe in her thirties. If I decide to sign up for a membership, I will make sure to go to a different LA Fitness so she does not get any kind of credit.

Do NOT use the LOCKERS (even with a LOCK). You WILL get robbed. This gym does NOT have SECURITY CAMERAS INSIDE or OUTSIDE of the gym. (The ones you see are dummy cams.)The staff (at least the staff that looks up from their phone) is nice and they will comfort you WHEN you DO GET ROBBED (my locker was emptied out - wallet/VEHICLE stolen in a matter of minutes). So the staff is nice - but they CANNOT help you with anything that has to do with your personal safety or security. The staff does NOT ensure that people that enter the building HAVE GYM MEMBERSHIPS. Sometimes the QR reader doesn't pick up membership codes (happened to me the DATE OF MY GYM ROBBERY) and they will smile and let you in. This COULD BE how the thieves get in.My point with this review is to tell you it is NOT SAFE at this 6th AVE location. Take PRECAUTIONS with your safety and personal items IF you use this gym at this location. The parking lot does NOT have LIGHTING. NONE.**Update: The parking lot NOW has lighting - however - it is STILL unsafe.
