Super friendly service. Everything was well done and taken care of but unfortunately a month after their visual break inspection, I found out my brake pads were officially gone and caused metal on metal damage.

I love these guys. Fair, honest and took care of issues that happened to tires I bought from them, they were prompt and gave me a great deal on tires for both my 23 Chevy Bolt EUV and my 99 Tahoe with big ass wheels and tires. Friendly and reliable. I will continue to give them my business.

Great experience. Friendly. Affordable. Professional. I've gone to Jiffy Lube for years for an oil change, Midas is much better fit for my needs. Def will be a repeat costumer.

I learned that each Midas shop is independently owned and managed, and any issue will only be addressed by the General Manager. Cooperate and Regional Team will NOT involve themselves. Your complaint will be handeled by the person you are complaining about! They have a way for the Manager to close a complaint originally made through cooperate in which this Manager faked, saying Customer considers it closed when it is not, etc.
I had come to the 6th Ave location previously, and received good service. Until this April I scheduled an appointment for a oil change, tune up, and fix a slow tire leak. One of my cylinders was clearly not firing.
I should have known I was about to be played upon arrival, when they acted as if I did not have an appointment (I did, have proof). Luckily they were going to help me out despite the inefficient online booking system! Nice move... I explained what I wanted and why. I was told it was a bad idea to do a tune up without diagnostics, could be other reasons. Diagnostics are 1 hour labor, the cost of which will go toward the service I elect thereafter. If I do not elect a service, I will be out of the money (I asked, they did not volunteer that). I asked about the cost for a tune up, Kevin answered "I don't know, hundreds."
I agreed to the diagnostics since I was there already and do not have a lot of time. I was to get a call with the results within an hour. I went for a walk to kill the time, the call did not come, I returned to sit in the shop. After a total wait of 3 hours I got my results. Camshaft sensor and a bad ignition coil. Two options were provided, one $1500 and one $1700 (this is a con move as well, with the two and one lower, after customer sitting for hours). I declined both and asked for the coil to be replaced, since this was what caused me running on 3 cylinders.
Kevin was disappointed, trying to keep explaining the estimates, but I pervailed. He wrote up an estimate for the coil. Now it is 415 pm and goes about to order the part. I wait.
An hour later I get the bill, pay, and run off to where I was supposed to be a couple of hours ago. The car btw ran rougher than before the cylinder went out, I knew that to be the camshaft sensor functioning worse. I hope to think that was not on purpose... It went 5 miles less per gallon as well but luckily that part mostly resolved itself after about 300 miles of driving.
Much later I look at the bill while accounting for my expenditures. I then noticed that the diagnostic was not counted against the work performed. Also the diagnostics are not likely to have taken an hour. Even the change of the ignition coil was overcharged at .7 hrs. There are 6 screws to open on my car to get to ignition coils, with the cylinder right below the coils. The 6 screws were already open... (Btw, the camshaft sensor is accessible without "taking the engine apart" as well).
I put in a complaint on the website, Kevin contacted me via email, and he proceeded to deny everything along with rather obvious attempts in misleading and twisting information. I have it all in writing if someone wants to study the ways of deflecting. He also closed the complaint while still denying everything. Saying I consider it closed and I may return to the store. Caught lying in writing.
I was offered a free oil change and a free new diagnostic. No thank you. As I did not agree that this offering resolves the issue, the complaint was actually closed. Again.
My main mistake was HEARING Kevin say the diagnostics count toward the repair, but not checking if it was in WRITING before signing. Also I did not walk when he would not tell me how much a tune up was.
Expect Kevin to through some red herrings in reply to this post, but I can back all this up. Including him saying that 1.7 hrs labor at $185 an hour (just labor) for changing an ignition coil is fair (inadvertenty admitting to counting the hour toward repair). He did make sure to let me know I should be happy he

Amazing prices and what really makes me want to go back is the front desk worker Sarah, she’s very honest and very informative, overall she’s the reason I’ll be going back to Midas.

I took my truck to Midas to determine the cause of my ABS light turning on and feedback from my brake pedal while braking. I was quoted nearly $1300 to replace my alternator, which they claimed was over charging and caused my ABS light to activate. I thought it sounded strange but the manager assured me that the my alternator was the problem.
I agreed and they contacted me once the work was completed. During that conversation, I asked the manager if the ABS light was off, and he said yes. Minutes later, the manager called me back and informed me that the ABS light was still on. He again investigated the issue and said that he could not identify the issue. Of course he speculated about other
The manager assured me that the alternator was defective and needed to be replaced. I was in disbelief and refused to pay over a $1k for repairs I did not need. The manger agreed to reinstall my alternator and no charges for the work.
I took my truck to another mechanic and he quickly diagnosed the issue as my front wheel bearings. This issue caused the ABS lights to activate. The repair fixed the issue and cost $300.
I think Midas should be avoided at all cost. Although Midas agreed to reverse the transaction, they attempted to convince me that the alternator repair was legitimate and that was not true. If I had not advocated for myself, I would have left Midas with a $1k bill and no valid repairs.
Midas also could not diagnose the issue with my truck, replaced the wrong part and attempted to charge me anyway. This is inexcusable. I am glad I stood my ground, reversed the transaction and used another mechanic.

Pretty pricey and were very pushy about getting more "necessary" repairs that I'm not sure how necessary they actually were. Plus they marked good on some already known issues that I was aware of. So not sure how trustworthy they are. I won't be back

Well,
I will not return to THIS Midas shop again. I came for an oil change. There was an issue with the oil filter BEYOND Midas' control, and I had to wait for a while
The problem came when The car was finished. The tech started asking me, how much I paid, that I should see him if I need any repair work. Odd, I thought and drove off. Within 10 minutes I received a warning light to check my coolant level. What I thought was smoke from spilled oil, yes that was present, was in fact steam. There was a hole in the aluminum water hose to the radiator. I would not have questioned this. I just would have thought, "Blind Luck." That was until I found the pick that made the hole under the hood. PERFECT FIT.
They got me!
So I am writing this in the hopes someone else had a similar problem with the Midas on 6th in Tacoma that had you fixing 1 problem after another.
One would ask, why not take it back? No, the last thing I would do is that because, this was not very obvious damage. I work on the car all time but, I wouldn't see solvent in the oil or an ECU flash and screws up the software..
So
Oh well, so much for my business, I'm going to Mienke instead.
