just now NEW I tried to apply here and they made it so hard. The first time I applied, it was spring of 2020 which was covid and my family was affected and I couldn't attend. They don't care. I tried again this summer and they barely respond and I had to go to the office twice because they couldn't figure out what was wrong. They barely reply. So I went to evergreen state college which I love. Highly recommend that college. Pierce sent me an invoice of over $1,000.00! I really tried with this college. I work with children in a private school and I don't recommend this college to parents who want to send their kids because Pierce used to be really great but not anymore. Evergreen state college is way better and you actually learn stuff and the counselors reply so fast and the staff is just amazing. I want to educate children for our future and how can I do that if it's so hard to enter and they are so money hungry that they just don't care. I sent them a whole letter about how I almost lost my sister to COVID and they were like "sucks, pay up".

Giving it 1 star due to no communication from Financial Aid. Not sure what changed but I remember when students were awarded prior to the new quarter starting and that it didn't take this long. The Financial Aid office is very slow with awarding and disbursements. They rarely answer the phone or email. And at this point a week into the quarter and no sign of getting awarded anytime soon. It's frustrating because this has become a distraction from my learning and buying books.

Getting a hold of anyone to correct financial aid is a pain but when you need to pay them they call you they text you they email you and they harass you for them to get their payment. I am being charged for attending fall 2020, funny things I NEVER attended fall 2020. I never received a PELL GRANT for Fall2020 but somehow I still owe them money that it was true in two years they never reached out to inform me? I now have a hold on my account because I “owe money” for a semester I never attended nor got funding for and no one can seem to give me a clear answer besides “too bad you still have to pay”

this is for the gawd awful financial aid department. i loved the school and the time i spent there learning and getting a degree. but the garbage backwards financial aid office needs a clear overhaul and time to get new bodies in there that actually want to do there freakin job and do it right for once. in the 2 years and 3 months i spent there not once did my money arrive on time, well maybe once but I will only give them once. other then that ALWAYS LATE alway and i mean always late by month not weeks. they NEVER called me ever, but low and behold on the last check that i earned and am suppose to recieve they call me. the day before the check is suppose to be sent out they call me and want me to answer fcken questions. are you freakin serious it took you clowns 2 year and 3 months to call me to make sure if u am taking classes. did you garabe workers call me before that in the all that time? NOPE... i had to call i had to go to the office i had to get big wigs involved becuase they are and continue to act like the money is coming out of their personal pockets. Like come on were is my final check at? I met all the quilifications to recieve it but it has not been disbersed. the day before i can't believe it they call me to ask me if i enrolled for spring are you freakin kidding me you call me to ask me that but not once called to make sure i had classes or enrolled before that. not once but yet you want to act like you guys are actually doing our job. well the like the academy awards telling will he cant show up for 10 years is to little to late. how freakin dare you guys act like you've done nothing wrong and held my checks months on end? acting all surprised when i had to get the deans invovled. looks like i have to take that route once again seeing that you guys are holding my final check hostage. some of yall must have worked in one of those arem S1 shops or something because nothing gets done right. what is the reason for my checks being late ALL THE TIME? what are your reasons for making me wait months on end to recieve the money I QUILIFIED FOR? Where were the phone calls to make sure i was enrolled and to let me knwo my money is on the way. NONE I TELL YOU NOT ONE CALL, and don't get me started on how i gave and would give them the proper paperwork regarding my high school days and or any other thing to do with me as a student veteran. you guys with your revovling door of agents in your cubicles. the school awesome the Professors well some need to get there head out there a*s because they thing their degree is cart la blanc to treat others like if we were beneath them. I let them know what was up in the intro to classes. not all but some, and back to the horrid financial aid office. they need an overhaul and a new staff that is not complacent and actually is helping the student get there money on time instead of placing "i didn't know" or "we still are waiting on your high school blah freakin blah" even though i've brought you every thing you need to send me my freakin check!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! make sure your on their a*s when it comes down to getting your financial aid because to them it is no inconvienence to have you wait and suffer. trying to get homework done with the looming bills rent what have you, hovering over you head waiting for a financial aid check that is sitting in limbo because the office can't do their job whta they got and get hired for. 2 y 3 m to get ahold of me to make sure i am going to school, you guys are hot sweaty garbage.

Not only does financial aid have the worst attitudes, response time, and false givings, but this school in general loves to ignore the absolute living h e l l out of its students. Not to mention invading privacy about your vaccine status and kicking you out unless you tell them your info. That didn't happen to me but it clearly states that you must give them your vaccine status for on campus classes by a certain date or else you will be kicked out of your classes. Wont be surprised if they catch a few law suits. I used to like this college and after my trying to return to educate and get a degree, they have made me decide to not attend, and have made themselves out to be A-holes. Good luck if you go here. I don't get how its one of the top schools if this is how i was treated!!!

Absolutely worst decision of my life. I was told I was behind 5 credits in order to receive my AA and was told 2 weeks before transferring into another college, meaning not much could be done at this point. Upset because not only was I informed extremely late but I communicated with my counselor each quarter and we picked classes to fulfill these requirements for the degree. Once I told her about my situation she then says "unfortunately you are short 5 credits. if I said you'll receive your AA I do apologize." Days after I called the welcome center and came across rude and unhelpful staff. This isn't the first time i've heard of students missing credits and this campus being extremely unhelpful. Go anywhere else if possible.

I love this school! Every staff member is always ready to help. A little bit of advice when you are trying to get in contact with financial aid is to email, especially during covid times. They will make sure that you are taken care of! Thank you Pierce for your help ?

Ask me why I should give this place any money? THE BOARD NEEDS to get their heads out their asses and be better. So tired or NEVER having any classes available, tired of how registration is NOT productive. So GLAD I never ever have to go to this school again. Even my Assoc degree is too ugly to hang on the wall.

Really wish I had read these reviews before I started here. This is my fourth college to attend and third as online while working full time and has been an absolute nightmare. The Homeland Security program sounded great but I have had nothing but problems and won't even be going back for a second quarter. They have no idea how to do online classes and professors can't even figure out how to put lessons on canvas. Then they don't hold their professors to a standard and make them accountable for their mistakes but will gladly give a student a 0 for an assignment because of their mistake. Two of my courses this quarter have had three weeks where the professor couldn't get the lesson online on time which is a huge issue for people with limited time and they didn't give additional time to complete the work. They also don't make their professors follow the syllabus and allow them to screw over the students as much as they want. If you are military don't waste your time going here. AMU is so much better and I will be returning there as they actually know what they are doing and functions much better for working adults.

I would give this college 0 stars if I could. Do NOT enroll to this college. And ESPECIALLy don't enroll if you have a child under the age of 18 thinking about doing running start. There are serious concerns you should have for your child's safety at this school. The standards for enrollment have dropped drastically here in the past year. They will let anyone into this college. It doesn't matter if they're sex offenders, murderers, or even pedophiles. Yes, that is correct, there are pedophiles attending the same classes as your kids enrolled in running start. And let me tell you this campus' protection is a JOKE. They don't do anything whatsoever. Even if you try to formally file a complaint of assault or harassment, they'll just make it seem like your fault. My husband, who attends the college was sexually harassed in the elevator of the college, by someone 3 times his age. Just out of nowhere. He was simply just trying to get to class and a pedophile (who was actually a student) cornered him in an elevator and started touching himself while telling my husband to meet him in the bathroom in 10 minutes. Can you imagine such an awful nightmare? Being trapped in an elevator with a sex offender, holding onto your pepper spray not even knowing what could happen next. And there's no one ever around to help at this college. The best part is is that there's nothing administration will do to accommodate him. God forbid if a teacher feels even slightly unsafe they'll call a whole police force and file a restraining order for them, but if a student is actually being sexually harassed on campus they'll be lucky if they're not asked "are you sure you didn't ask for it?" I don't feel safe having him attend this college and neither should you if you're letting your 16 year old enroll in running start. Can you imagine if it happened to your child? These sex offenders they let into the college know what they're doing and they know they can get away with it. That is what disturbs me the most about this place. They let it happen. I am so disgusted with Pierce that is makes me tremble with rage. Administration is gossipy and cold and won't even give students the time if they ask let alone hear them out if they've been sexually harassed on campus. So it's no wonder no one goes to them when things like this occur. I'm so sick and tired of this college getting away with all that they do. What's hilarious is that the college has access to everyone's federal records, and yet they still do not run background checks on the students they let in. I guess that would go against "non-discrimination laws." When did non discrimination become a priority over our children's safety??? If your wondering what the academics are like at pierce, I have some stories for you. This college is the perfect choice if you want your professors to condescend you and constantly treat you like you're still a middle schooler. I am an adult and I have a life outside of school. So, excuse me if I have other obligations (my family and my job) that might cause me to miss a day or two of class. I try to be communicative in these situations as to maintain a good connection with my professors and get an idea of what I missed in class; however, the only responses I get are usually an "okay" or something similar on that range of unprofessionalism. Most recently, I was explaining a complicated medical situation to my professor in which I had to miss a couple of days of class and he told me that I was required to give him a doctors note- something I haven't used in years- in order for him to let me complete the assignment I missed in class. Excuse me but, last I checked, this was a college and not an elementary school. It is my business if I have obligations outside of school that cause me to miss a day of class and my professors better be grateful I at least took the time to write them an email in the first place. When I went int

This is probably my favorite college that I've attended. They offer a very supportive atmosphere and endless amount of resources to take advantage of. They have an awesome welcome center with with great resource team and tons of options for assistance with any aspect of the student learning process!
