Edit from 1 star to 5: the pumps have been repaired, thank you so much!
I've been a loyal Safeway customer for years, and one of the biggest reasons I stick with you is the fuel points program. But since moving to Tacoma, I’ve noticed that none of the Safeway gas pumps here allow customers to redeem their points at the pump—you have to go inside and ask the cashier. It’s inconvenient, especially when other locations I’ve lived in, like Bellevue and Bothell, have fully functioning systems that let you redeem points directly at the pump.
This might seem like a small issue, but it adds up—and it feels like another example of how Tacoma, a lower-income and more diverse city, is often overlooked when it comes to basic upkeep and customer experience. Why is this acceptable here, but not in wealthier, whiter neighborhoods?
It’s not a good look. I’m asking Safeway to address this directly and bring Tacoma locations up to the same standard. Tacoma deserves better.

The cashier that works here at 11am is the kindest man I hope safeway appreciates him! Was having the worst day he noticed and showed me some kindness in a way that a stranger has never done So whoever he is thank u so much

The people that get mad because the pump won't work need to breathe it will be ok make sure you read what the pump is telling you to do just breathe

Weird how on every pump the button to enable you to plug in your number for a discount is broken. Fix your stuff Safeway. Every location seems to now have the same issue.

It's gas. U can usually find an open pump. It's one of the smaller stations.
