A friend and I went here for breakfast this morning. We were both set to order pancakes when he found out from our waitperson that a corn syrup product is used instead of real maple syrup. I guess what broke the camel's back was not only do they also use margarine to top the pancakes with but also use a pancake mix. So, since I'm a sucker for biscuits and gravy ordered that, but only before learning that the biscuits aren't made by them either. That said, my friend's breakfast looked pretty good because he ended up ordering the barbecued brisket with eggs. My whole take on this is, yes, I know many restaurants don't serve real maple syrup and butter can be had sometimes if you ask. But why not make your pancake batter from scratch when you can make a huge batch of it as well as great biscuits that only take two ingredients?

Delicious brunch place. Had the California Hash and really enjoyed it. Everything was well cooked and well seasoned. My friend had the Cowboy Hash and really enjoyed it. Sometimes the wait times are a bit long.

The name of the place is slightly misleading. If you're from Hawaii expecting local grinds, there are only 1-2 items. The only thing Hawaii related in the restaurant that I could see was a HIC sticker on a surf board on one of the shelves up top.My wife got the loco moco and shared it with my son. I would recommend more gravy for sure, but otherwise it wasn't bad.i wanted the cowboy hash but they were out of some of the ingredients to make it so I got the regular corned beef hash instead. Honestly it wasn't the kind of corned beef hash I was expecting, but I liked it. My son also loved his hot chocolate. We most likely will go back another time, preferably not in the last couple of hours till their closing time. The thing that probably ruined the experience the most for me was when they started to clean, about 45 minutes before closing. In the large room to seat people they started mopping. The pinesol smell was so strong I had to step out, it made us so nauseous. We noticed the ladies sitting next to us couldn't even finish their food because of it. Please hold off on mopping until your customers have finished eating.

i usually love this place but i came here with my boyfriend and i had decided to get food from a different place, yes i know most places dont allow outside food but the server for the section said he would allow it this time and a different server from the other side came over and told me to put it away even though my boyfriend was literally at the register buying his food, then as we are sitting here just chilling the lady server that told me to put my food away touched the chocolate chip pancakes with strawberries on them with no protection or barrier between her and the food AND took forever to get it out to the customer. whoever had pancakes with strawberries on them this morning im sorry and yall should communicate between staff on decisions you make.

I gave it a 3-Star, only because this place has such good reviews I felt I must be an outlier, so I didn't want to give it a 1-Star. I honestly do not get the hype. For starters this place has no signage out front unless you happen to be on the right-side of the building and see the painted graffiti type name on the side. When seated we were told to go to the register to order. The lady at the register could not have been more off-putting and disturbed that we were wanting to order. After ordering you have to self-serve your water, which was fine, but odd. We then sat there for well over an hour before finally getting our food. When the food arrived it was cold for three out of the four of us. My wife ordered toast with no butter, and I ordered the English muffins. My wife got the English muffins just drenched in butter and we never got her toast. I never got the English muffins either, but assume she got what were supposed to be mine. I felt their famous Shakabra potatoes were good, but nothing to fax home about. Overall, we felt our food was good, but again, certainly not deserving of the hype. My daughter's biscuits and gravy were very dry.The service was non-existent! We were not visited one time, short of them dropping off our food. I went to the register to ask for some jam, as our table had no condiments whatsoever, and the same lady at the register grabs a container from under the counter and slams it on the counter top. Didn't say a word.As I looked around while waiting for our food I began to notice just how dirty the place was, and when I used the bathroom it was gross. Also, full of graffiti. Call me a boomer if you wish, but I just felt that it wasn't very smart to cater to such a small demographic. We were seated about 12 - 15 feet from the door, but there were so many people waiting to be seated that it felt like we were nearly surrounded by mass people watching us eat. It was super uncomfortable. When you are done, you are supposed to buss your own table. Again, this is fine, if it is a cafeteria, but it's not, and I certainly wasn't expecting it.Considering it takes a very long time to build a good reputation and that it can be destroyed overnight, I wish Shakabra would work a little harder to ensure everyone has a great experience every time. It surely felt to me like they made zero effort to that end. Finally, it may be coincidence or may not, but three of the four of us got really bad stomach cramps immediately after eating here. It is possible it was the Starbucks, as I was the only one who did not feel ill, and I was the only one who did not have Starbucks. Who knows for sure.Cool name, but that is as far as it goes for our visit to Shakabra. We are not eager to return.

People are very rude, could depend on who's working. I wish they would stop saying they have vegan food because IT IS not vegan if it's cooked on the same stove where animal is cooked, it is FALSE advertisement and should not be listed as vegan.

Over priced and undersized. Food is BLAND. GO literally anywhere else. I even told them the dish was tiny for being 20 bucks and that it was bland, they did not care one bit.
