The staff is always great. The location for me is super awesome. Prices are a touch high but that may be why the staff is great and the location is awesome. Update: Don't forget to get a deli punch card if buy a sandwich or soup or both.

Friendly “little” local Market conveniently located in the Stadium district of Tacoma. Fresh deli, seafood, meats and produce, pretty much a little bit of everything! Check it out sometime!

Pros: Location (the main reason anyone ever goes to Stadium Thriftway). Selection - carries some specialty and harder-to-find items. Deli has some delicious things.Cons: Regular prices on non-sale items are crazy high. And customer service.... The reviews saying you need to dress up to shop here are correct. I'm not homeless, I have a good job and a couple of college degrees, but lord, if I roll in wearing anything less than a collared shirt and dress shoes, I get The Look from whoever's working often with a snide comment, or a follow around the store. It's a good lesson on how our neighbors without houses are treated everywhere, everyday. But it's also ridiculous that their staff is this judgy. It is a grocery store, not a wedding. Many of us in the neighborhood walk here. When it's cold, we may be thinking about about clothes that'll keep us warm outside there and back, more than what might impress the deli counter employees. I have had one decent interaction with an employee here though ,so shout-out to that guy at the checkout.I'll continue to stop here from time to time when I need something, because there's only two grocery stores close by, but I wish it could be a more friendly experience.

The deli is great!!! I get a breakfast burrito every morning. The only complaint I have is pricing. Most of the prepared food has gone up in price by 20-30% in the last 6 months. That's far outside the range of inflation

This is an excellent grocery store. It is a little on the high-end side, similar to Metropolitan Market of Marlene's. The store is rather small, but I wouldn't say it is cramped. The staff here are always incredibly professional, friendly, and helpful, I have even seen them help customers through the parking lot or at least keep an eye on some shoppers as they walk their groceries to their cars to make sure they get there safely if there is inclement weather or suspicious characters roaming the parking lot.

Great atmosphere! Clean and trendy = Pricey. Staff is always nice. I've seen all walks of life here and it's nice to be around that kind of diversity.

There is selection is amazing but their prices are high as well as the workers at least they're attitudes are they are self-righteous better than you kind of behavior when it comes to people who are less fortunate just cuz they got a job and a house they think they're better than people who struggle with those things and I know first hand when I went in there and had to humiliate myself at closing by asking the managers if they had anything in the back that I could possibly get to eat because I was very hungry and hadn't eaten in several days and the tallest Samoa looking guy laughed at me and said no I'm sorry man can you please leave we're about to close whereas the long-haired manager went and got a couple slices of pizza from his own lunch and brought it to me outside where I was crying it might not have been much to him to either of them but to me it meant the world no one should ever have to feel hungry like that and no one's ever have to humiliate themselves in front of pretentious overplayed overworked under appreciated managers who take out their own insecurities on others for their own personal amusement. Other than that they have great produce kind of half of it's good and the other half has already gone bad and ridiculous prices but they have the fizzle Berry soda which is the only place I've ever found the fizzle Berry soda and it's my favorite soda ever in the universe now so Huckleberry soda which is really good and there are smoke stuff is really good in the back but it's also like super retarded expensive it's like $30 for like a chicken leg and it's a smoke chicken leg so it's really not much there anywho go there if you have to but if you don't then don't.

I go here regularly as I live in the neighborhood. It truly is a 50/50 experience. I like its convenience, 1-2 min walk, but recognize the sacrifice is the added cost of virtually everything here. I enjoy the famiar staff, and some 'specialty items' but could so do without the frequent requests for handouts in the parking lot. And...I keep going back. Fifty percent good and fifty percent bad.

Stadium Thriftway has a vibe all its own! I love getting down there to shop. Good selection, good prices and my favorite is the food from their deli area. The Northwest salad and the turkey gobbler sandwich are don’t miss items! And on the way out I get a yummy iced reduced sugar mocha to make my day even better. Super friendly baristas. Check it out!

I worked here before and only recently found out about how unlawful termination works. I think it’s safe to say that this business, being privately owned, doesn’t follow a lot of good etiquette when it comes to staffing and management. Cindy was a nightmare and the other staff was very self-driven and not team oriented. The store itself was very tidy and clean, and the selections they had available was nice. But it’s not enough to overlook the negatives of the experiences.

This place consistently allows abusive and toxic behavior by managers to occur. They also regularly utilize racial profiling and consistently harass homeless patrons, students, and people of color, even if they are simply shopping for food items and not stealing. They also have no true loss prevention (at least when I worked there), and employees were expected to take it into their own hands which oftentimes resulted in unnecessarily extreme confrontations. I'd give it 0 stars if I could

The manager refused to refund the breakfast burritos that were made improperly and were missing multiple ingredients which I didn't realize until I went home. The normal lady who makes them always does it right. This one was really messing up and didn't know how to make a burrito. Why were they out of hash browns? Why did they put less eggs and potatoes that McDonald's does?

This place has really gone down hill! I have been coming here for years and my last trip made me not want to return. I usually get a Taco salad with no shell. Well, this time the portion was 3x smaller for the same price. There was like 3 pieces of chicken and very little of the other ingredients. It was almost comical until I mentioned it to the young girl who obviously didn't care. After I purchased the tiny salad, I left and went to my car. As I was pulling out I noticed one of the managers standing behind my car looking at me crazy as I tried to pull out slowly. Finally, I pulled out and he immediately blocked off that parking spot. I parked my car in another stall and went back in to ask what the issue was. He said, "oh nothing just blocking off that spot." You don't know what trauma people have endured. I would suggest not cornering people in the parking lot like that ever again. I may not return at least for a long time until they get it together. This place needs a refresher in customer relations!

What a great store. What makes this place standout is the top notch customer service. Whether in the deli, the aisles or the checkout you are made to feel welcome here. Their made to order sandwiches make any chain store look second class. I love this clean and friendly store.
