Here's a tip for when you use Umpqua's ATM's. When you are at the screen that displays default amounts to withdraw ($20, $40, $80, $100, $200, etc.) don't select any of those. For example, say you want to withdraw $80 - select "Other Amount", not the "$80 button", because the machine will immediately issue you all 20's, and for most people, they want a mix of bills. After selecting "Other Amount" select 8-0 and it will then give you the option of getting a "Custom Mix", which, Umpqua limits to 20's and 10's. (I hate it when an ATM only issues 20's, so getting 10's in addition is a bit more convenient). Previous to the recent merger with Columbia Bank, Umpqua's ATM's briefly allowed you to receive a combination of not only 20's and 10's but also 5's, but since then they have become less helpful when it comes to using their ATM's (not to mention, closing the Pearl Street branch is a huge inconvenience and disservice).

The lady Ms Chong is so unprofessional. I mentioned that I wanted to purchase a house, before this day not once did she ever welcome or said hello to me . But because she felt as though if I use her realtor friend she can get some side money. She was all smiles very friendly, until the following week when she got word that I'm not using her friend. That's when the real Ms Young made an appearance. ( Very short with me , try to embarrass me by reading aloud my check balance when I clearly stated I understand 3 times I hold my money in my savings. And then rudely dismissed me telling me bye have a nice day sarcastic cause I wasn't finished making my deposit) She treats the bank like it's a corner store in the hood just no class nor respect for people of color. I will be closing my account on Monday....the wild part about I I had asked may I speak to a representative about buying a house. And she gave me info with someone she personally knows outside of the bank . ?

Umpqua bank has been handling my business accounts. They have the best customer service and have very knowledgeable service personnel to answer my questions. Thank you Yong Anderson and staff for all you do!

UMPQUA Bank is the WORSE bank i can say. WE Had many fraud checks with this bank and recently we had a very big amount of fraud check for $76,500. I can not understand how they protect Thief but not their customer. This Umpqua bank which i have been working for over 26-27 years, did not do anything for me especially Yong Anderson . Only, Oh I am sorry. please be aware, because if there is any fraud or loss they wont protect you. I am wondering if this fraud is internal and they don't want to give me information, Because behind the check has the information of the other bank has been deposited. How the hell they can't investigate. For GOD sake it is not $500 or $1000 or even $5000. it is $76,500. Robbery from my account.

After 8 years of being a loyal customer I am leaving for BECU after being feed to death. I am a parent of a college student in Canada. I get charged by Umpqua every time I use my debit or credit card in Canada. Not wanting to leave my bank I decided on getting Canadian cash from Umpqua...they have to order it and charge you a fee to do so. Then when you go to deposit unused cash into your account they charge you 15.00 dollars to do so. BECU doesn't charge you a thing. So good bye ridiculous fees Hello no fee and better service!

DO NOT trust this Bank with a CD account for your hard earned cash! We placed our money ($100k)in a 13 month CD; we never received a notice before the maturity date and Umpqua rolled our money into another CD at an interest rate of 0.50%; when they currently offer a rate of 1.5%! If we close the unapproved rollover we are subject to a $1000 penalty! This experience is nothing more than a scheme to hijack your money for 12 months at below market rates to increase their margin on loans! Disgusting business ethics!

I have been a loyal customer and was recently the victim of debit card fraud when my card got skimmed and used 4 times yet Umpqua say I authorized the transactions. Absolutely no sympathy or empathy from them and no refund. No customer service here at all and definitely time to find a new bank. Extremely disappointed by all this and would never recommend them.
