I have family visiting on vacation and I went yesterday to pick up some money that was sent to them and they didn’t let us take it because he’s a visitor and he doesn’t have a ssn. The girl was really nice and recommended me to have the money sent to me so we don’t have any trouble. I went today again and the lady that was there (blonde, don’t know the name) said that she didn’t want to do the transaction just because there was 2 people at the window (my relative who doesn’t speak English and the person that originally needs the money and my husband who was the one receiving the money for him). After she told us she wouldn’t do the transaction we asked what should be do next time to do it correctly and she said “she can’t disclose that information”. I don’t know what her deal was but she is terrible at customer service.

Shopping here has not been pleasant. I went through the self check out and and as usual I have trouble with it. The thing has trouble reading the CHIP and recommended I swipe it! well that didn't work either and finally I had to wait for clerk to assist me. She did and I finally paid for my items and left the store! Watching youtube videos claiming many innocent people have been criminally prosecuted for "shoplifting" due to mistakes in the self checkout does not make me feel confident using self check out and in fact this creates more anxiety. If I had my way I would have all groceries sent to my home and never ever set foot in Fred Meyer! Ever since the crime rate has skyrocketed . Fred Meyer assumes every shopper is a potential shop lifter! And they let it show! We are now living in an Orwellian 1984 POLICE STATE! Where the only ones that have rights are Government, Corporations and POLICE! Citizens are all treated as criminals! This world has deteriorated and I'm so thankful that I chose not to bring an innocent child into this dismal world! I see every human system and institution is a complete failure! If this sad world and humanity has deteriorated this badly then perhaps humanity should just go extinct!Every one should bow their heads in SHAME!

I really don't seem to learn and it really bothers me. Maybe it's the busyness of life that I don't spend the time to research something. At 72 I doubt I'm going to change very much even though I would like to. I would definitely stay away from this optical department. I paid for a prescription that was not right. And I knew it!I found to be a waste of money. I went and retested at Walmart in Spanaway with a person that has been there doing this for 5 years at this store.Sorry to say but this Fred Meyer store optical department is a little wacky. In my opinion.Worse than that I was sent to a specialist to have cataracts and glaucoma fixed. I knew I had a boxing injury and that's what they were looking at in one eye anyway. And I'm sure that I probably have cataracts that don't affect my site. But I certainly did not need to go get surgery.Being smarter than the average duck ,I got a second opinion that I trusted. I went to a different eye doctor getting a prescription that was different and accurate in my opinion True I had a slight case of glaucoma and minor cataracts at 72 years old which is just common. I definitely do not need surgery. Maybe when I'm 100 :-).

Been in line since 7:35, only one cash register open and 14 people in line. If they gave a 30% discount then self help would be more appealing. Not sure why their staffing is so terrible.

Every time we go in we experience great customer service. Today the staff went out of their way to accommodate my mother in law and family friend. Really appreciate the staff at this store!

i live across the street from this fred meyers and it's the Worst fred meyer you could go to. Terrible management that cares more about the crackheads getting away with stuff rather than the safety of their employees. fired an employee for defending himself against a crazy person. things are mislabeled and even expired. don't park in the parking lot if you don't have a newer car or kill switch, it'll get stolen. it's honestly worth it to drive to University place or lakewood over this place.

Would not recommend employment at this location especially for minors. This location has a disregard for minors and their safety and management who don’t treat them with respect. I give these minors the upmost respect who have come to work at this location and have to tolerate management who are bullies and customers who yell at them. I worked here as well for 4 years and have watched this location fall apart.

I hate to give such a low rating for this neighborhood Fred Meyer. The topic I most dislike about this store is there are never any carts or baskets. I've noticed many people ranted about this already. 4 out of 5 times, I will walk into the store and there are no carts to be found. The ones that ARE available, are not working or broken. If I do come here, I try to spot a cart that's available in the parking lot. A lot of the carts I noticed, are being used for employee use. Yes, that is important too, but you will see cart after cart just parked there with no one working with them. The parking is also not the greatest. They're really close together, and you must be careful backing out. My recent visit, I had less than 15 items, but the lines were so long, including self check out. I went towards the last line near the garden entrance. The girl who was cashiering asked if I mind bagging my own groceries since I brought my own bags. I do understand why... at the same time, will you still charge me for bags if I have you bag my own things? There was a gentleman in a wheel chair behind me that also brought his own bags. I wonder if she asked him to bag his own stuff as well. I can understand if staffing is short. Maybe that's why the lines have been longer, but customer service could be friendlier. Despite all the topics I've vented about, they normally do carry everything a grocery store needs to, the prices are reasonable, and they do have their gas station available. I would beware going there late at night. I've seen people there just squatting, hanging out, charging their phones there, drinking, and then leaving. I assume they're waiting for the bus or just taking a break from walking to where they need to go... but it is pretty sketchy. I think they should just redo the store completely, including the parking lot, staff up, and make this store a more pleasant place to shop. They would surely have a better environment for their employees and profit better. I do hope things get better for this location.

This Fred Meyer is the WORST Fred Meyer in all of Tacoma. The water spouts is literally pouring water off the side of the building like a dang water fall; into the walk way of the customer. The carts are dirty, rusty and the wheels never work; not to mentioned the carts are all over the eastside of Tacoma due to the transient populations. The staff is always rude, they act like they don't want to be there and if you ask them a question they always have something smart to say. One cashier was yelling all the way down the isle to the other. It is dirty inside and out the parking lot is littered with disposable face mask and garbage. On the inside, the floors look like they haven't been waxed in decades, and the store has an overall dingy feeling compared to other Fred Meyer stores I have shopped in. Pan-handlers at every door and a lot of sketch stuff always going on in the parking lot. AVOID IF POSSIBLE.

Get that dang water spout fixed. It's pouring water off the side of the building like a dang water fall. You need boots to wade threw the water. If you are elderly or in a wheelchair forget about it. You're going to get drenched!!!! Or, like me..no boots...feet under water trying to push my cart to my car...Call corporate office and get it fixed! It's a safety hazzard!!!!!There are plenty of local contractors who can get the job done. All you need to do - Store Manager - is to pick up the phone and make it happen.

False advertisements all around the store, purposely mislabeled products on the shelves, and they do not stand behind the price. Deceptive practices in marketing, online coupons that do not work and the ability to use the app for those coupons in store is next to impossible. The discount club card has no prompt to use when checking out. The cashiers do not ask for it. There are about six different dishonest misrepresentations about pricing that can happen with this company, but this location in particular has a bunch of items out with a tag for about 5.59 with no other stipulations but when you go to the check out, even with the card working it is ten bucks. You express concern about it, go to the shelf with a representative where it is clearly shown that the shelf is full of 30-50 of this product labeled at that price multiple times and she points out to an itty bitty tag that says there is a shortage and it is out of stock even though it is clearly there and the item on the price label and she treats you like a crook while they have either mispriced an item or put a sale out too early or too late, and you lose a customer. FRED MEYERS, YOU NEED TO PRESENT THE CORRECT PRICES FOR YOUR PRODUCTS. YOU NEED TO HONOR THE PRICES ON THE SHELF WHEN THEY ARE CLEARLY REFERRING TO THE PRODUCT PRESENTED. YOU NEED TO STOP HAVING DISHONEST GIMMICKY ADVERTISING THAT DOES NOT WORK.

The store is chronically understaffed, with far too few check out lanes open and staffed during peak hours of business. A high percentage of their carts are in disrepair, the wheels locked or so clogged with detritus that they are obnoxiously noisy. Please staff your store and maintain your carts. Checking out can take 30 minutes or more of waiting in line before reaching a cashier.
