My sister applied for this place before telling me and got denied they said it’s cause she didn’t have rental history, they then told her if her husband applied because he’s military he would automatically qualify and then told him he was denied for the same reason (because they only ever lived on post, I was told it doesn’t count as rental history). So she called them and they told her I could apply if I made 3x the rent, and then once I applied they told her I had to have 4x the rent. So, since I’m leaving at the end of my lease in 2024 I went and called to see if I could apply and they told me I could. She had called me later about it and I missed the call, once I called back they didn’t answer, so my sister called. When My sister called her later and asked about the end of lease she mentioned in my voicemail and she said it was fine all she had to do was change the date since my sister will be there full time until February. Once the application is started they take forever to process it, even called my sister to ask if her social was real. Lima or Lima called me today and said there was an issue with the lease that I’m currently end cause it doesn’t change until 2024. I told her I called prior to submitting the application for that exact reason, u asked her if the phone calls were recorded and of course they are not. She then tells me “you don’t live there u visit, u applied because she got denied” but just because my lease is up in February doesn’t mean I’m not moving there. She gets me to the manager Sana (the same lady who told me it was ok) and she acts like she didn’t remember anything, I told her the conversation and the way she was explaining it to me now is how it should’ve been explained before it was submitted. She then asks “what are u looking for at the call” I told her, a refund of the application since it would have never been submitted had the correct information been told. She quickly says “oh no we don’t process refunds, let’s keep in mind what we have to go through to get it submitted”… but that brings me back to, had the correct information been given to me it would have never been submitted. This place is a money grab, had my sister apply for $60, then tell her if her husband applies it’ll get approve cause he’s military another lie, and had her spend another $60 + his $60 and then had me submit an application and say oh no “no 3x but 5x the rent” and then had me do one just to tell me the lease end date has to be prior to move in, but all these questions were asked before paying for the application. Total money grab did a place! If they don’t want to rent to you they won’t!

I have lived here for over a year now. I have experienced nothing but kindness and friendliness from the office staff members, the grounds person, and new maintenance staff. The office staff is always quick about answering my questions and they never make me feel as if I am bothering them. The maintenance staff is super fast on getting all qnd any repair work done and very patience with us. Let's talk about the grounds ..beautifully managed. I want to say that the garbage area is as maintained as it can be. We do have some situations where the trash compactors are empty and people still tend to just put their trash on the ground I do not understand that and I do not hold the team responsible for others actions. We have always lived the apartment life because my husband used to be a maintenance person. So when I say this I mean it..this is the best place we have lived, it feels like home. It is quiet and people respect each other.Thank you very muchCarol

Apartments themselves are very nice. Staff is responsive, and mostly helpful, but that is about it with the apartments. I originally chose these because of the gate. Well, the gate doesn’t do much. At least 4 cars have been broke into and a few stolen from the lot. There are no cameras in the parking lots. The gate was broken for 3 months and locked open, with the homeless population right on the outside. Trash compactors get full semi regularly, and parking is a decent issue. I drive a larger truck and the spots are only a few inches wider than either side. Overall, I do not recommend.

I called before the application was filled, I explained the situation of refugees from Ukraine (that they do not have credit and rental history) and that a co-signer would be needed. The lady on the phone said that I can fill out the application, we fulfilled all the requirements with the co-signer and still we were denied. when I called to find out the reason , they told me 3 different reasons. the first was that the income is not sufficient (which is not true) the second reason is that the co-signers income is not enough (which is also not true) and the third time when I called to find out exactly why we got denied the answer was that the co-signer did not provide 2 years of rental history, although he has them, we asked to submit the information, we were refused. ignored my calls and co-signers. They promised to send a screening report, but after 2 weeks it never came. Wrote to Doppler management, no one answers the email. this is the first time we are faced with such a terrible and difficult management. do not recommend! Application is 60$ we spent 180$ for 3 people and haven’t had a chance to see the report! They left us with no report, without 180$ , and 6 month we can’t apply for any apartments that are under Doppler management!!

It's been easy to get in contact with the front office. Everyone is kind. The workout area is nothing special but it does the job. The pool and hot tub area are always clean. Living at the top of the hill can be a hassle in the winter so be prepared for that. Parking can always be found on property but might be in the NEXT lot down. It has been very quiet and easy to live in. The closets are every person's DREAM! They're huge and have built in shelves/rods. The only downside besides the hill is the location. There are a large amount of homeless people outside the property by the bank and gas station. Rundown cars are outside the property as well. If I could take my apartment/complex and move it to a better location I would in a heartbeat.

So car was recently broken into and I notified the complex to notify others living here and shrugged it off with a please don't leave anything visible in your car. Clearly don't care about other residents.

It's a great location. Unfortunately that's about where it ends. Everything is constantly breaking. Gate never works. Compactor breaks. I was locked INSIDE my own apartment for a DAY because the spring latch on the door broke. I called the emergency maintenance line - no answer. Left a vm. Never returned my call. Called again the next day, and get told to SUBMIT A WORK ORDER. Not only is my unit a 2 minute walk from the office, but I'm disabled and on the third floor. I had literally no escape from my apartment for over 12 hours, and they couldn't be bothered to do anything. Wouldn't recommend. Maintenance staff itself seem fine, but it seems like they aren't made aware/powerless to do anything under management, and whoever they contract for the gate/other stuff, they did very much on the cheap. I watched someone last night be locked outside of the complex via the gate because it just....wouldn't open. They yelled and hollered for over an hour before accepting and parking their car outside. Great thing we pay for that "convenience" right?

Literally no freedom of creativity. "Too many plants" "Too many birds" "Can't have a rug outside" The other times they came in, they didn't say anything. They enforced a rule about people having to pick up their dogs p*** but every so often there's some. Rent is high, it goes up every year for us, we Pay month to month. Apparently having a sticker on your door that could be easily taken/scrubbed off is damage and would have to pay for it. And having to pay for a screen door that was ALREADY ripped?

Out of all of the places we could have lived, very happy that this was where we chose to be. It's so quiet! Feels so safe. Friendly neighbors, this is a pleasant corner of Tacoma to be. From the gated community to the sunsets on the rooftops. Westmall, thank you for taking such good care of us!

The apartments are nice but parking is not great. I work graveyard and it’s 12 hour shifts. I’m either stuck at work or stuck at home because I don’t want to lose my parking or come back to no parking. Especially on weekends. Weekends are horrible. So you’re forced to park really far or outside of the gate. total inconvenience. They have so much rules placed it’s like living with your parents still. Maybe, if you can’t build car ports for renters to add to their lease at least offer plaques for tenants like you do for handicap tenants if they’re willing to pay the extra money for uncovered parking.

Personally I really enjoy these apartments. Yeah ,parking is sometime a hassle but not anything crazy. The inside is really clean and the appliances are pretty new. I also get an amazing sunset off my balcony almost every night. Most of the neighbors keep to themselves which is nice. Rent is super easy to pay With the app. Requesting something to be fixed usually happens within the next few days. The ladies at the front desk are always nice and helpful. Once I had trouble paying because my back account froze and I explained the situation to the staff and they were very understanding and worked with me to get the rent in on time. Overall I have no big complaints on Westmall Terrace Apartments and am happy to be a resident here.
