“We were just exploring the market when someone offered us cookie samples - so of course we had to stop, and I'm glad we did! We tried a bunch of the flavors and especially like the chocolate chipotle and open sesame. The shortbread-type ones had an amazing texture. We bought a tin to take home and it was so cute!”
“How have I never sang my praises for Alair through a review?! I love Alair so much. It has been my happy place, my candle mecca and my gift-giving savior since the day it opened. You can always find something unique and silly, and the staff is helpful, funny and kind.Highly recommend following them on Instagram if you're not already -- and if you live far away, peruse their online shop asap! They offer curated gift services, which means they'll get as detailed and specific as you ask. I had them create a "happy divorce" package for one friend and a "happy 40th, you're still a college BFF to me!" for another one.Locals, you can also rent the space for private shopping parties during Christmas time -- it's the best way to shop with friends during a busy season!”
“This store was so cool! I collect stickers from every city and state I go to when traveling and being able to go to a place like this and have so many options was great!! And they were surprisingly less expensive than other places for stickers. I also got a really cute magnet from the very nice people who worked there!!! I ended up getting a pen, a deck of playing cards, a snow globe, and 2 things of stickers!”
“My nephew and I found this shop while wandering around on our trip to Seattle. We both left happy and excited about the cool new stuff we got. This place is nothing like Seattle’s typical cookie cutter gift shops where they all sell the same thing. They are locals selling their art products and also stuff from other local artists. The owner is very kind and welcoming, she even took the time to talk with us a while. If you’re looking for unique and hilarious, I highly recommend this shop. You’ll not only find something awesome that none of your friends have but you’ll be supporting local business and art community. It’s a win win!”
“My K-pop mates flew home this morning, so I was solo for the remainder of my time in Seattle. I finally made my way to Pacific Place, next to my hotel. Alas, it seems it’s another shopping center in search of tenants and customers. Is this the fate of many shopping centers on the West Coast, like San Francisco Centre on Market Street?
Anyway, I found myself inside Pacific Place with nothing to do and I stumbled across The Handmade Showroom on the 3rd floor. Hey, I found bracelets made out of guitar strings from High Strung Studios in Trenton, NJ. I lost a guitar bracelet the day before, so it was serendipity … I purchased one made with bass guitar strings and secured with a magnetic clasp ($57.38). I had to buy one … I would have purchased more but they didn’t have any more in size Medium (for my 6.75-inch wrist). Hah, I ordered two more from High Strung Studios for less money than at The Handmade Showroom.
So, I found at least one interesting store in this shopping complex. I remain hopeful that more vendors will open a store in this complex.”
“I always find something to get here. It's full of interesting and unexpected things. There are a lot of curiosities and museam-like cases full of oddities and off the wall things you wouldn't find anywhere else. They've got the usual tourist knick knacks and toys too, so there's truly something for everyone. It's always very crowded though, so be prepared to dodge a crowd. Great experience overall, highly recommend.”

“Went in today with my mother to find some specialty olive oils for our pasta. Rebbeka was amazing and very friendly. She sold us a number of oils and even a blackberry vinegar for salmon dinners (highly recommend). Rebbeka’s client service was top notch and she deserves to be recognized. “I came from Oklahoma to visit a friend in the Seattle area. While we were walking around and he was showing me the sights downtown we came across this shop and I just felt like I had to go in and look around. There’s so many amazing, beautiful, quality items for sale and the prices are really great. I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were given that the shop is downtown and I found the Seattle area to be much more costly than where I’m from. The owner who runs the shop was friendly and chatted with my friend and I while we were there. And we can be quite chatty with people anyways, so it was fun having someone at a shop who was welcoming and willing to be chatty, too! Definitely a shop I hope to visit again when I visit the area again someday. It was definitely among my favorite memories made while visiting such a wonderful area!”
