“These are the most beautiful handcrafted books I have ever laid eyes on. I bought one a few years back and have absolutely loved it so I could not pass up the opportunity to get my hands on another. You can even water color on the pages after you are done writing/journaling in it--that's my next step for the first one. Anyways absolute love--made with extreme care and quality”

“My sister asked me what I wanted to do in Seattle, and I said I had to visit Robot vs Sloth. I collect t-shirts, plushies, pins, and magnets, so this store was a must. My second favorite animal is a sloth, so I was naturally curious about what this store had to offer. Because I arrived close to closing, I felt rushed and didn't take my time to look at all the merchandise. On my next visit to Seattle, I plan on buying a couple of stuffed animals at this store. The workers offered excellent customer service as well. I am a customer for life!”

“I just found out about them through a special person in my life and now it appears they went out of business. Hopefully they just relocated because they were doing things for the right reasons.”

“An incredible, eclectic store with great staff. They require guests to wear a mask and are setting such a good example! It's so frustrating to see people get tired of being covid aware so seeing how easy it is for them to take precautions is so refreshing. Thanks for being a safe place for the weird and at-risk!”

“How have I never sang my praises for Alair through a review?! I love Alair so much. It has been my happy place, my candle mecca and my gift-giving savior since the day it opened. You can always find something unique and silly, and the staff is helpful, funny and kind.Highly recommend following them on Instagram if you're not already -- and if you live far away, peruse their online shop asap! They offer curated gift services, which means they'll get as detailed and specific as you ask. I had them create a "happy divorce" package for one friend and a "happy 40th, you're still a college BFF to me!" for another one.Locals, you can also rent the space for private shopping parties during Christmas time -- it's the best way to shop with friends during a busy season!”

“What a gem of a store! You can find a pretty wide variety of authentic, beautiful items from around the world here. It was a pleasant surprise to find this shop in Pike Place. We picked up a Turkish lamp, which was specially ordered from a workshop in Turkey for this store.”

“Stopped in looking for a singing bowl. Had an amazing chat with the owner. He absolutely lifted my spirits, what a beautiful soul. So lucky to have a spot like this”

“I bought a salish wool blanket online years ago that I cherish. On a road trip I stopped in to see the store in person, tall ceilings and it smelled amazing in there! The staff were really nice, we were wearing the same brand mukluks. I was on a mission (and a budget!) and knew exactly what I wanted, left with two new blankets for gifting that came in beautiful boxes with handles. Last minute picked some socks out for my husband, they feel like really good quality while also being beautiful! Next time I'll buy a scarf for myself, one of the beautiful silky ones. I'm so happy to see Native businesses thriving! Congrats to the whole team, seeing your work on the cover of vogue is a milestone! :)”

“This is such a lovely and wonderful store to have in the neighborhood! They have a great collection of hand-made art, crafts, food, souvenirs, and gift ideas. The style is great, not gaudy at all. And the prices are super affordable. Best of all, everything is locally sourced in the PNW. Really kind and attentive staff as well. I highly recommend this shop!”

“What a nice surprise in Fremont, WA. I am a stationary fanatic and I found Portage Bay Goods to have very unique stationeries that I have not seen anywhere else. Overall I would say prices are reasonable, I'm leaving as a happy customer.”

“Our company purchases holiday gift boxes filled with WA state goodies for customers each year and Made in Washington makes the process so easy! I placed my order online (with the help of Sunni in customer service) and the entire process was quick and painless. They ran out of a few items after I paid but were quick to offer similar options. Word of advice...be sure to place your order around Thanksgiving for best selection. Payment was easy and done online. My contact followed up with UPS tracking numbers and sent me a final receipt. This will be my corporate gift giving option from here on out!”

“What a wonderfully nostalgic shop!! Look in all the nooks and crannies for hidden treasures. This is a UNIQUE place to visit while in Seattle. Darold, the owner/manager is a treasure himself.”

“So many things to look at- this is half museum and half store. I could have easily happily bought everything. It was the largest selection of fun items and the staff was incredible. I bought so many things and paid so much less than I expected as the prices were amazing. We will be back to find more treasures soon. The selection is great. I can't wait to see what I find next.”

“Love this place and Chad is great and has grew up in the place and took it over as it was his dads! Great customer service as always and we have not had one issue in the 10 years we have been visiting. See you soon!”

“Really interesting and intriguing store with its own uniqueness to it in Pike Place Market. I wasn’t able to take pics because I was taking everything in and exploring but bought this Scorpion bracelet(I am a Scorpio) encased in resin. They had other insects as well in the glass case by the front of their store as well as curio type gifts. Staff was really nice and answered any questions I had. Thanks again and will return soon!”

“Great selection of unique greeting cards and art prints. Quirky gifts and home goods, including my new favorite, toast & egg candles. Wonderful customer service, almost like a small town feel. Wish they had a larger selection of gifts but it's a relatively small footprint store. Cool alleyway with lots of little shops tucked away.”

“Love this store whenever I'm around the area even if I don't need anything I still stop by and pick something up. Staff is really great, everybody is smiling and very helpful.”

“Lots of cool little things in this shop. Pricy, but great quality. The woman who has rung me out a few different times has always been really sweet. I also like that they sell Blackwing pencils individually. Everywhere else sells Blackwings in expensive packs.”

“The most famous shop in Ballard. There are lots of cute miscellaneous goods and stationery, and the way they are decorated is wonderful, making it fun to look at. However, the shop owner seems to be tired of it, probably because it's so famous and so many tourists come just to take pictures. She said she was friendly because I bought it, but she didn't even say hello to people who didn't buy it.”
