Terrible. I hope the evening lady was training her replacement. The worst, in several ways and many interactions. Not going back. I was very polite, humble, agreeable, accommodating & spent almost $100 which for me is a lot. But the tall, female evening cashier was like a rebel without a cause. And lazy, and not working the last half hour they are open. Don't think I entered at the last minute. I didn't, and 5 other shoppers came in after me, several of which also seemed to be treated rudely.

Enter at your own risk. Hostile, aggressive, harassing store manager here. Will never set foot in there again.
A week ago, I asked to use the bathroom. The store mngr (Asian guy) was super dismissive in shutting me down, looking down and acting almost hostile about it? He told me to go next door to Safeway. It kind of ticked me off since this is also a very popular DMV/DOL site and they used to have bathrooms available. I’m also a very good customer and on a heavy water pill. Not their fault, but their approach is. And two days before this I happened to have made a pretty large purchase $174.58.
His hostile & terse approach upset me so that I decided to take my purchase back a few hours later. When I returned, the same Asian guy was working the side key counter. And once again, while I was trying to explain my reason for the return, he quickly shut me down. Wth. And telling me that it he couldn’t listen or look at me for at least a half an hour because he was so busy. I told him that it would be ok.. He then kept angrily looking over at me while I was standing off to the side looking at key parts saying, “what do you need want with me.. why?” I said that I had explained to him everything and was just waiting on help for my return.
Whelp, it was at that point when I wish I had paid more attention to the recent reviews of this place! The Asian dude manager decided to start trailing me around the store, walking down every isles behind me. All while saying to me that he would need to take my bag of items to the front counter? I guess he seemed find time to help me. Lol. He also the asked if I had put the key rings that I was looking at back while he was looking down at my pockets!? So apparently he was suspicious of me stealing $1 plastic key holders. I looked at him confused and told him that, of course I had put them back. And that I still wanted to look at the BBQ rubs, potentially making an exchange or new purchase.
But he would not stop following me, while calling the front counter with his walkie talkie telling his employee that I had a return immediately. Not sure why I suddenly became a priority to him then!? But, I did.
I went on to tell him at least 8 times that I wasn’t ready to return my items/make purchase yet. But he just kept coming at me aggressively trying to grab my bag out of my hands while in the isle. He was facing so close that I could smell his breath. And I asked him several times to please back up.. I stood firm, trying not to cry as I had never experienced something like this before. After I finally lost him and he disappeared.. I put the BBQ run that I was holding back and mentioned to the older gal with glasses that I needed calm down first before I made this return. She said, “ok hunny, just make sure you make your return before the 30- days. I then thanked her and left the store.
I guess the nightmare wasn’t over then. After getting back in my car with my fiance waiting, the same asian guy appeared outside, with a customer maybe? He then saw me and started running toward my car saying. “Hey.. you, stop!” I was like.. what hell? I wasn’t about to stop and get harassed by this guy anymore, so I hit the gas and took off. He then took out his phone and started taking picts of my vehicle. NEVER will I go back there. I will have my guy make the return.
I will be a Parkrose Hardware customer from now on. What a GD nightmare this store manager is.

Rude, panicky, unnecessarily aggressive, and unhelpful. Staff here were immediately defensive and aggressive when I tried to return something as if they were getting ready for a fight.
Staff have no sense of personal space, one staff member was trying to inventory items on the same shelf I was browsing, cutting in front of me and dismissing my presence entirely, while also preventing me from looking at the things i wanted to look at.
Everybody had an attitude, every interaction was met with an eye roll, and it seemed like customers were an inconvenience to deal with instead of assist with.
I felt so uncomfortable and frustrated by the time I left, I felt the need to sit down and write this all out.
Overall I would avoid this location if you can, the headache you get from dealing with the rude staff is enough a reason to never come back.

The perils of shopping local...I'm surprising my parents as a thank you by redesigning their office. I tried going to Ace (to rally in support of buying local), but it was a mistake. DO NOT buy your paint here.
The first few workers I dealt with were all great, but something has to be off with their paint machine. 5 visits, and two wrong colors later, I am out a lot of $$$ and time. In the end, the sample can of the color I chose did not match the gallon they gave me by several shades (see photo - the two should match) yet they refused to try to correct the color or reimburse me. They sampled it themselves right there in the store and proved the discrepancy yet did nothing. Not even the manager.
I've painted many homes, I'm also an artist/muralist, and have never had an issue like this with a paint store. No other hardware or paint store would leave a customer hanging like this, they always correct the color or reimburse. Not Ace. BUYER BE WARNED. I'm stuck with the wrong color paint and out of the $. It ruined this gift I'm trying to give my parents, and I left Ace Hardware feeling completely unheard and uncared for as customer.

I walking into the outdoor garden section with my well behaved 7lb. Dog on a leash minding my own business wanting to buy flowers and the elderly garden lady so rudely spouts out if your dog breaks any stems you’re going to have to pay for them. I’m like, why would you just pick me out of all the customers around and blurt that out to me. I felt blindsided like the lady was prejudice. She had such a bitter look on her face. I went on and read the other reviews about this store and how other customers have been treated and looks like a patern. I sure do hope management will hire more quality employees to replace the ones that are giving there store a poor reputation. I will not be returning to that store for sure.

My battery died outside their front door and I realized I didn't have cables so I went in to buy a pair to use and keep on the road for future emergencies.
Before I even picked them off the shelf, the associate made sure to tell me that they were a non refundable item. They were $12.
Not sure what I said or did to give the impression that I would do something so petty as to try to dishonorably return merch that I used once 10 feet away from their front door, but the comment was entirely inappropriate, absent of context, and clearly based in the associate placing me into a fear profile.
Reading other reviews, it seems this store might have a theft problem resulting in a strong-arm stop loss approach to their floor interactions. I went in thinking Ace had the solution to my problem and was optimistic about my chances to get myself mobile again. Instead, the visit was stress inducing and only added to the problem at hand.
Regardless of the reason, maintaining a hostile sales environment isn't a sustainable method of preventing loss. It's more likely to lead to the prevention of revenue as I'm sure I'm not the only person who won't be back to shop here.
I predict this store will soon only have theives to serve if they continue this trend.

I absolutely hate doing this but I just can't get around how awful most of the staff were, especially the manager. He was a short, slightly older guy who within about 5 minutes of my entering the store accused me of attempting to steal a pair of gloves. Why? Because he found a tag on the ground near the gloves section that I'd been looking at. Now that might sound reasonable until I pointed out to him that the tag wasn't from an actual pair of gloves but was THEIR STORE PRICE TAG that is posted on the end of the hook they were hanging on. In other words, it wasn't a tag someone had ripped off a pair of gloves, it fell off their display. You'd expect the mgr on duty to know the difference.
And from that point on, he literally followed me for the remainder of my time in the store and was constantly telling me I needed to hurry up because they were trying to get out of there. It was 7:30pm and they closed at 8pm. Had it been 7:50 or later, sure i get it. But being told to basically hurry the hell up with a full half hour before closing is just ridiculous. AND THERE WAS NOBODY ELSE IN THE STORE. I saw at least 3 employees and apparently they couldn't work on their end of day duties with a single customer in their store.
I will NEVER shop here again. I'm a maintenance supervisor for a large apartment complex and this is the kind of store I would spend A LOT of $ in....but absolutely no way would I come back. At least not this location.
