I love AE clothing…but the manager here has zero people skills and every time I shop here I hope I don’t have to interact with him. I buy online now so I don’t have to have poor customer service. Unfortunately, when I have returns I go in and today was another rude and unpleasant experience.

I NEVER write bad reviews, but this one was rough having been in customer service from age 16 and on. I was returning a pair of shorts and the guy processing my return just seemed to be having the worst day and I was overly nice because I could tell. He accused me of wearing them and washing them because of the “distress lines.” Then he angrily said, “I’ll do it this time, but it’s against policy.” I was so uncomfortable and with my young daughter. I walk out and go back in and show him a photo of the shorts on my Aerie order from the site and said, “Hey, that was a super uncomfortable experience, but I wanted to show you the lines were already there.” (which was super evident in the photo) He gives me the meanest and more sarcastic “OK” while shrugging. It was so awkward. I hate confrontation and I know in customer service you deal with a lot of poorly mannered people coming into your store, but as a polite customer, I was baffled. Please have him do back stock and floorsets, he is driving away customers. That was rough and I hesitate to have any items shipped to the store to pickup. I’ll just pay the shipping.

I had to return some slippers that we had purchased. The staff in the back at the counter was very friendly, but Ryan who was doing returns was incredibly abrupt and had very poor customer service. I have worked in customer service for 26+ years and was shocked by his attitude. I understand that it is the weekend before Christmas and life is stressful today, but he did not look up once, he did not smile once, he did not engage once. I was very disappointed in his demeanor. I hope he can get some more training.

Horrible experience, trying to return a pair of pants . Returns here were ridiculous I guess I was supposed to run around the store to find Brianna DON’T GO TO THE FRONT COUNTER!!!!!! update on my return American Eagle you must be so proud of your customer support that day. It cost you $120 in sales. when I came in to exchange my pants and buy another pair that would’ve been $120 profit for you your manager was so rude I came in returned my pants and got my money, I went somewhere else and spent that $120!!! The funniest part about this experiences that same girl had to take me to the front counter because I paid in cash. 😁

Cashier was absolutely amazing, friendly, thoughtful and knowledgeable. Male floor staff had spot on awareness noted I was parent of shopper entering in to pay for teen customer. However, I made the mistake of not watching till closely and fell for the company trap. Their misleading “buy one pair of pants 2nd pair 50% off” on their A Frame Sale sign at the front of the store is misleading, false advertising, predatory! I called AE= NOTHING was done to remedy. Was told my fix was to return the clothing with tags attached. Will not be recommending as this isn’t an affordable or honest business model. See receipt.

I feel like this is a PNW store. The clothes are causal and comfortable. Nice colors.Store has a lot of options. It is clean, well organized, and the staff is really nice. Fun if you can take advantage of their sales.

I recently had the pleasure of shopping at American Eagle and I must say, I was extremely impressed! The store had a great selection of trendy and stylish clothing, and the prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they made sure I was able to find exactly what I was looking for. I especially liked the wide variety of sizes they had, so I was able to find the perfect fit for me. Overall, I had a great experience and I will definitely be back again!

Doing a return with the manager is almost comical, especially after reading all the other negative reviews about him. I can’t wait to buy more stuff online and come in to only be served by the one and only grumpy Ryan. This isn’t 2001 Abercrombie, you can be nice to people now.

Came in to do a return and pick up an order and the Manger Ryan was so rude. Was going to shop but after the rudeness from him no thank you.

Came in looking for specific jeans, the girl who greeted me pointed me in the right direction, then a really sweet girl actually came over to help me find the exact ones. Unfortunately they did not look like they did in the print ad I saw, so I did not purchase the jeans. The girls working were total sweethearts, and the store was so folded, clean and tidy.

I understand from other reviewers about their experience from the Manager because I've seen it too when making returns, but it could just be the mask which makes it hard to see people's actual expression. I called before coming in to return/exchange things and to see if this is still a friendly place to do returns. I was talking to Emily on the phone and she spoke to me kindly. If you check their Instagram they look like a great team. I went in to make the returns and was left with a smile. Give them a chance to serve you.
