“They have this process down. It's efficient use of the volunteers and they make you feel like you are contributing. This was my third time here, and I packaged lentils, dairy and frozen potatoes. After a quick briefing and getting suited up, we are in the task. You get a rhythm going and get quicker. It's more fun when you bring friends, and the time goes fast. Makes me feel like I am giving back a bit.”

“Food is available for those in need, no questions asked. Most times, they have a variety of staples, both dry (rice, beans), canned, and fresh. Some fresh vegetables are also available. They also have pre-made meals by the large coffee company that we all know.Allow yourself some extra time as there could be many people in line, but it goes fast. The staff is super friendly and approachable for the most part.Today (Sept 1st), one volunteer was making loud comments regarding a certain POC who struggled with English. That's not cool. They also seemed more interested in telling "war stories" and chatting than helping other volunteers. There's a first time for everything.”

“First place besides one weird one out of some attempt at fear mongering behavior, solid and surprisingly nice staff, I just leave this here as record, reviews aren't required, but this is an honest one.”

“all kinds of literature for sale at cost that i didn't even know existed! something for everyone seeking recovery (from the 'mothership' of 12-step) even if you're in another 12-step fellowship. this place welcomes volunteers and occasionally holds meetings and gatherings... feels like home away from home. you just have to hang out there a bit to understand, but i'm pretty sure you'll end up glad that you did.”

“Beautiful furniture pieces! I couldn't believe they were "used". And so many great deals, I was surprised at how budget friendly the prices were. Definitely going back!”

“During the winter, there aren't many booths. However still fun to walk through. Got some good barbecue. There are a few vegetable stands, knife sharpening, soap/lotion, jewelry.”

“Amazing community resource! Have just about every tool you can imagine. Great not having to buy tools that you might only need once. To people saying they stopped by and no one was there: it's staffed by volunteers, so don't expect it to be able to staff like a for-profit business.”

“An amazingly organized organization contributing to the care of needy kids in Seattle. They work with a multitude of agencies to provide clothing and necessities. Cannot begin to appreciate how much they do and what a great place to volunteer.”

“I've been to the food bank here and it is busy busy, but flows well. Good produce, no spoilage, some meats and dairy offered, they have a clothing closet, they have other services available depending on the funding. Real nice people.”

“Great people to work with. Very dedicated to helping find forever homes for rescues. We rescue several strays a year on average and trust Emerald City to always do what is best for the animals.”

“Just finished our day on the lake at Gig Harbor. We took advantage of the Gig Harbor Boat Shops awesome, reasonably priced classic boat rentals. It was a great experience in a wonderful boat. We highly recommend and would not hesitate doing it again!!!! Hats off to the crew of “seasoned men” restoring these beautiful works of art.”

“The IRC organization lives up to its commitments in providing educational and economic wellbeing to refugees in the Greater Seattle Area. The organization’s office based in Seattle helps refugees to apply for permanent residency and US citizenship as well as helps them to settle down in the new country through active social engagement and learning opportunity. In the summer of 2020, I had a chance to observe the organization’s operations as it was in charge of providing refugees support in US citizenship application. Becoming a citizen is a very important part in a refugee/immigrant life history. I observed the IRC provide information on how to obtain legal assistance, prepare paperwork for those who have difficulty understanding the English language, and assist with learning about the US history and civics test. Overall, the process of providing information about the necessary steps needed to apply for a US citizenship as well as the support with each step was well streamlined. I highly recommend this organization.”

“This is a friendly Goodwill, although I must say Seattle Goodwill's I believe have lost touch with their mission statement. The prices have become ridiculous at the Goodwill's in Seattle.”

“I support Seattle teachers and SPS staff on strike! Our educators should not be the one our community is blaming for holding up the first day of school; that's all on SPS who refuses to bargain a fair contract that supports students and teachers. #SEAstrong”
